Abstract

This study aims to analyze entrepreneurial management in Islamic educational institutions as a strategy for strengthening financial independence and improving educational quality. This study was conducted due to the limited understanding of how entrepreneurial governance integrates financial sustainability, educational improvement, and Islamic values within institutional management. A qualitative approach with a multisite case study design was employed. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, limited participatory observation, and document analysis involving institutional leaders, business unit managers, teachers, students, committees, and external partners from Islamic educational institutions. Data were analyzed through data condensation, thematic categorization, data display, and conclusion drawing, with credibility ensured through source triangulation, technique triangulation, and member checking. The results showed that entrepreneurial management was implemented through strategic planning based on institutional potential, structured organization of business units, diversification of income sources, transparent financial management, and reinvestment of business profits into educational programs. The findings also revealed contributions to facility improvement, learning program support, student competency development, and the cultivation of independence, creativity, discipline, and responsibility. These findings indicate that entrepreneurial management can function as an integrated institutional strategy connecting economic sustainability, educational quality improvement, and Islamic ethical principles. However, this qualitative multisite study does not measure the statistical effect of entrepreneurship on educational outcomes. Future research should employ mixed-method approaches and measurable indicators to further examine the relationship between entrepreneurial management, financial sustainability, and educational quality.
