The transition from childhood to adolescence brings a host of challenges and changes. Adolescents also undergo physical changes associated with reproductive maturation as they approach adulthood. Meanwhile, the transmission of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) has become widespread across various demographics, including in Papua Province and Jayapura City. Data from Statistics Indonesia (BPS) for Papua Province regarding disease cases by regency/city and type of illness in 2024 indicate that nearly 50% of new HIV/AIDS cases in the province occurred in Jayapura City. This highlights the urgent need for research and community service initiatives focused on prevention and control. This community service project addresses priority issues—specifically regarding adolescents—by focusing on prevention strategies and the selection of safe social circles. To achieve the intended solutions, the project employs several methods: (1) holistic, faith-based education; (2) counseling on reproductive health and STI prevention; and (3) discussions aimed at motivating and empowering adolescents to make positive changes in their social interactions. Overall, the solutions to these priority issues are implemented through activities such as sermons, educational sessions, question and answer sessions, and small-group discussions. The program targets adolescents from the church community at the Polda Bhayangkara Buper housing complex.
