Abstract

Proses belajar di sekolah dan perguruan tinggi tidaklah mudah untuk diikuti. Proses mengikuti pendidikan di lembaga pendidikan memerlukan sejumlah adaptasi bagi setiap peserta didik secara umum seperti penyesuaian dengan budaya, lokasi belajar dan juga cara belajar. Di awal 2020-an situasi pandemik juga memberikan penyesuaian tambahan khususnya dengan pembelajaran dalam jaringan. Berbagai tantangan dalam mengikuti pendidikan tersebut diantaranya adalah kebutuhan biaya pendidikan. Melalui kegiatan pengabdian ini dilakukan penyuluhan kepada sejumlah mahasiswa dan pelajar di Distrik Heram Kota Jayapura. Terdapat tiga puluh lima peserta yang mengikuti kegiatan penyuluhan mengenai informasi beasiswa. Kegiatan dilakukan dengan penyampaian materi penyuluhan, tanya-jawab dan berbagi pengalaman mendapatkan beasiswa. Pemateri utama adalah dari Bapak Boyke Semuel Jufuway, SH, MPP dari Badan Pengembangan Sumber Daya Manusia Provinsi Papua dan pemateri dari anggota tim pengabdian Dr. Ferry R. P. P. Sitorus. Dibuat sebuah grup pada media sosial sebagai bentuk kelanjutan dari kegiatan penyuluhan mengenai informasi beasiswa ini.Kata Kunci : beasiswa; Kota Jayapura; penyuluhan;

Abstract

Morbus Hansen (Leprae, Leprosy) is a chronic infection caused by Mycobacteria leprae (M.leprae) The disease affects the skin, the peripheral nerves and other organs. The rate of new cases of leprosy in Papua province is still high. There is a lack of public knowledge about the course of leprosy, if not treated immediately, can cause inflammation of the skin and nerves which worsened condition. Health cadres need to be trained about leprosy examination. Health cadres can detect leprosy at the nearest posyandu because leprosy is still an endemic disease in Papua. There were twenty-three participants who took part in leprosy examination training for posyandu cadres. The activity was carried out by presenting material about leprosy, discussion and simple procedures for examining leprosy which can be carried out by posyandu cadres.

Abstract

Six children participated in the Rumah Belajar program at GKKD Buper Waena. They received direct stunting intervention for 6 months from August to January. Rumah Belajar partnered with Yayasan Obor Berkat Indonesia to provide supplementary food to 6 participating children. Previously, a meeting was held with a team of experts consisting of psychologists, doctors, and education practitioners. The psychologist conducted an intelligence assessment of the participants. The assistance was provided by 2 volunteers from the home learning tutors and one of the target participants. The medical staff conducts interviews with parents to determine the socio-economic factors that affect children's nutritional fulfilment and their daily eating patterns. The provision of animal protein-rich food is done every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday. The Tutor staff conducts height and weight checks every month as part of the evaluation. The Psychology Team conducted intelligence assessments on 6 participants who are experiencing stunting. The result obtained is that 3 people have below-average intelligence. The service team educated the parents of the participants about providing supplementary food. The provision of animal protein-rich food was carried out to intervene with 6 participants who are experiencing stunting. Community service was conducted from August 2025 to January 2026. Nutritional status evaluations are conducted by volunteers at the end of each month. The conclusion of the Community Service for the participants of the GKKD Buper Waena Learning House met the target, which is an increase in weight and height after 6 months of activities. The stunting assistance and intervention carried out successfully improved the nutritional status of the target participants.
