Abstract

This study aims to describe the preparation, implementation, and evaluation of school regulations in shaping the character of student discipline at SMA Muhammadiyah Kendari. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with primary data sources obtained through interviews and secondary data sources in the form of documents and information related to the implementation of school regulations. The research subjects consist of teachers and students. Data analysis was carried out through the stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawn, while the validity of the data was tested using triangulation, displacement, dependence, and data certainty. The results of the study showed that the preparation of school regulations in shaping the character of student discipline has been carried out quite well through the involvement of school principals, vice principals, teachers, and representatives of the Muhammadiyah Student Association (IPM). The process of drafting regulations is carried out through the stages of planning, problem identification, discussion, determination, and socialization. The implementation of school regulations has not been fully optimal, but it has been realized through picketing activities of teachers and students to record violations, morning apples, the habit of reading the Qur'an and dhuha prayers, giving verbal and written reprimands, summoning parents, paying fines, suspensions, and giving awards to outstanding students. The sanctions applied include verbal reprimands, written reprimands, payment of fines, making statements, summoning parents, and cleaning activities in the school environment. The evaluation of school regulations has been carried out quite well through the involvement of teachers and students in evaluation meetings held on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis. The findings of the study show that school regulations play an important role in shaping the character of student discipline, although it is necessary to increase consistency in the implementation of regulations so that the goal of character formation can be achieved more effectively
