<![CDATA[This research was motivated by the low reading comprehension skills of fourth-grade students at SDN 060/II Muara Bungo. The results of initial observations showed that students experienced difficulties in understanding reading content, identifying main ideas, finding important information, and answering questions based on texts. Out of 22 students, only 4 students (18.18%) achieved learning mastery, with an average score of 47.27. This study aimed to determine the improvement of the learning process and students’ reading comprehension skills through the implementation of the Make a Match learning model. The research method used was Classroom Action Research (CAR), which was conducted in two cycles. The subjects of this study were 22 fourth-grade students of SDN 060/II Muara Bungo. Data collection techniques included teacher activity observations, student activity observations, and reading comprehension achievement tests. The results showed that the implementation of the Make a Match learning model improved students’ learning activities and reading comprehension skills. Students became more active in reading activities, discussions, matching question and answer cards, and understanding the content of reading texts. Based on the research findings, it can be concluded that the Make a Match learning model can improve the reading comprehension skills of fourth-grade students at SDN 060/II Muara Bungo. This model can be used as an alternative approach in Indonesian language learning that is more active, engaging, and directly involves students in the learning process.]]>
