<![CDATA[This study aims to analyze government policy regarding the improvement of public welfare through social assistance programs, as well as to examine the effectiveness of program implementation and the factors influencing its success. Social assistance programs represent a form of public policy implemented by the government to provide social protection to the poor and vulnerable groups, thereby meeting basic needs, alleviating economic burdens, and enhancing the community's quality of life. This research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. The study was conducted in Nipah Panjang District. Data were gathered through observation, interviews, and documentation. Informants were selected using purposive sampling, specifically targeting individuals knowledgeable about and directly involved in the implementation of the social assistance programs. Data analysis utilized the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña model, comprising data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification. Data validity was verified through source, technique, and time triangulation. The findings indicate that government policy via social assistance programs plays a crucial role in improving public welfare by meeting basic needs and providing social protection to those in need. The effectiveness of program implementation is influenced by several factors, including communication, resource availability, implementer commitment, bureaucratic structure, the accuracy of beneficiary targeting, inter-agency coordination, and transparency in implementation. Although social assistance programs contribute to improved public welfare, their implementation still requires refinement—particularly regarding the validity of beneficiary data, oversight, and program evaluation—to ensure that aid is distributed more accurately and sustainably.]]>
