Parental guidance plays a crucial role when children use digital media, particularly YouTube, to ensure that their use contributes positively to the development of digital literacy among children ages 7-9. The purpose of this study is to describe the strategies parents use to enhance digital literacy and to analyze the impact of these strategies among parents in Kademangan Village, Pagelaran Subdistrict, Malang Regency. This study employs a qualitative approach using a case study design. The results of the study show that parents employ three types of strategies, direct communication, setting rules, and being present while their children watch YouTube, which align with the concept of parental mediation. The strategies employed by parents influence children’s ability to select and understand content, use YouTube as a learning tool, and adopt more structured and responsible YouTube usage behaviors that are appropriate for their age and developmental needs.
