This study aimed to determine the effect of the field trip learning method on student learning outcomes—specifically pretest and posttest scores—using observation sheets. A pre-experimental research method was employed, utilizing a one-group pretest-posttest design. The study was conducted at SD Negeri Limbung Puteri in Gowa Regency. The subjects were 27 students from class V-B; the sampling approach involved only an experimental group, without a control (comparison) group. The posttest mean score (84.63) differed significantly from the pretest mean score (60.11). Hypothesis testing yielded a t-calculated value greater than the t-table value (5.228 > 1.7056). Furthermore, the sig. (2-tailed) value was 0.001; since 0.001 < 0.05, it is concluded that the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (H1) is accepted. This indicates that the field trip learning method has an effect on the argumentative essay writing learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri Limbung Puteri, Gowa Regency.
