This study examines the effectiveness of Gestalt counseling in enhancing self-awareness and emotional intelligence among altruistic students in educational settings. This Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach systematically identifies, evaluates, and synthesizes empirical studies to minimize bias in conclusions. Literature searches were conducted using the Scopus database for the period 2019–2024, yielding 413 initial articles. Through a multi-stage screening process, we selected 10 key articles for in-depth analysis based on predefined inclusion criteria. The results demonstrate that Gestalt counseling consistently improves self-awareness and emotional regulation and fosters altruistic behavior among students. Quantitatively, several studies reported, for example, a 20% increase in students' empathy levels after counseling sessions and positive correlations between peer support and students’ mental well-being. These findings highlight the importance of integrating Gestalt counseling programs into educational curricula to strengthen students' emotional well-being, promote a positive school climate, and cultivate prosocial skills within school communities. Further research is recommended, particularly longitudinal studies and controlled experimental designs, to enhance the validity and generalizability of these findings over time.
