Background: Nutritional status is a crucial factor in early growth, affecting weight and height. Adequate intake is essential for optimal growth, but imbalances can cause biological dysfunction of saliva to increase plaque accumulation. A study aimed to determine the relationship between nutritional status and plaque bacteria in children's teeth.Method: The study utilized laboratory experimental research with 100 children aged 5-12 years, using purposive sampling techniques. The sample was a dental plaque swab on the cervical lingual of the first molar tooth, and the total number of bacteria was counted using the colony counter.Result: The Spearman’s Rank correlation test obtained p>0.068 results showing the unsignificant correlation between nutritional status and the total number of plaque bacteria on children’s teeth. Conclusion: The study showed the overall amount of plaque bacteria on the children’s teeth decreased with improved nutrion intake and nutritional status.
