This study is motivated by the growing demand for educational institutions to ensure sustainable quality through systematic management approaches. The implementation of Total Quality Management (TQM) within the Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI) is considered a strategic effort to improve educational quality in madrasahs. This research aims to evaluate the implementation of TQM in SPMI at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Hijriyah II Palembang, focusing on key principles such as leadership commitment, total involvement, process approach, fact-based decision making, continuous improvement, and customer focus. The study employs a qualitative descriptive method with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that, conceptually, the madrasah has adopted TQM principles and established formal quality mechanisms such as the PPEPP cycle. However, the implementation remains in a transitional stage, as challenges persist in terms of teacher involvement, data utilization, consistency in process execution, and stakeholder engagement. Although leadership plays a significant role in driving quality initiatives, the internalization of quality culture is not yet fully achieved. Therefore, strengthening organizational culture, improving human resource capacity, and developing integrated data systems are essential to optimize the effectiveness of TQM implementation in SPMI.
