Vegetation surveys require adequate tree identification skills, yet differences in personnel experience and the limited availability of reproductive characters can hinder field identification. This community service activity aimed to strengthen practical dendrology skills among the survey team working in primary natural forest areas designated under Indonesia's Indicative Map for the Suspension of New Business Licensing, Forest Area Use Approvals, or New Forest Area Conversion Approvals in Primary Natural Forests and Peatlands (PIPPIB), at Kaiti Kubu Pauh Limited Production Forest, Rokan Hulu. The activity involved 11 participants through instruction, demonstration, direct field practice, discussion, and qualitative evaluation. Observations showed that participants began conducting more systematic assessments by considering leaves, latex or resin, bark, stipules, buttresses, and documentation for species verification. Field dendrology mentoring can strengthen personnel capacity for vegetation data collection and identification.
