This community empowerment program aimed to enhance the self-reliance and technical skills of the Serumpun Livestock Group in producing pellet-formulated rations for KUB chickens using locally available feed ingredients, including Turbinaria murayana seaweed, rice bran, corn, rejected fish meal, and soybean meal. The activities were carried out in the Serumpun Livestock Group located in Nagari Painan Selatan, Pesisir Selatan Regency, involving 20 group members through extension activities, training sessions, hands-on ration formulation practices, feeding trials, and intensive mentoring in pellet feed production for market distribution. The results demonstrated that farmers successfully acquired knowledge and practical skills in ration formulation, raw material preparation, homogeneous mixing, and the operation of feed mixers and pelleting machines. Locally based rations could be produced at a lower cost (Rp 7,500/kg) compared to commercial feeds, while still meeting the nutritional requirements of KUB chickens at various growth phases. Furthermore, the group was able to produce and market pellet feed in 2-kg packages at an affordable price (Rp. 15,000 per package) for internal group members and the surrounding community. This program improved business efficiency, strengthened feed self-sufficiency, and contributed to increasing farmers’ income.
