Abstract

Information technology is currently developing rapidly, causing all aspects of human life to always be connected to the development of this technology. The influence of this technological development can be felt in various fields, both academic and non-academic. Manual data processing has begun to be eliminated and changed into a computerized system to facilitate the data processing process so that it can be done quickly and does not take a long time. Karanganyar Village Hall has a letter filing system that is still manual. Incoming letters are still stored in large folders that are sorted by letter number, in addition, archiving incoming letters requires the creation of a disposition to be addressed to the relevant party. The creation of this disposition awaits the leader who as a leader has a lot of busyness or activities. So that the process of making dispositions and making outgoing letters takes a long time. This Incoming and Outgoing Letter Application is one way to handle the processing of correspondence data starting from recording and archiving incoming letters, making dispositions, making outgoing letters, as well as reports of incoming and outgoing letters and is expected to be able to process correspondence data without taking a long time and can be processed. With this application, it is expected to make it easier for employees to manage correspondence. This application is built with PHP and MySQL.

Abstract

In the rapidly developing digital era, information systems have become an important element in increasing efficiency and effectiveness in various activities. As an important part of public services, queuing services withstand significant challenges in managing rapid population growth. Long waiting times and inefficient queue management can result in user dissatisfaction, increased workload for service providers, and potentially harm productivity. This research aims to overcome these challenges by identifying, pivoting, and creating an innovative information system integrated with the popular cross-platform application, WhatsApp. The main focus is automating queue service management to increase efficiency and user convenience. The resulting system is expected to provide significant changes in public services, reduce waiting times, and make queue management easier. The Unified Modeling Language (UML) methodology is used in the design of this system, providing systematic guidance to achieve these goals. In this research, we identify problems, user needs, functional requirements, and non-functional systems, including queue registration, queue management, user management, and service management. The results include use case diagrams, activity diagrams, sequence diagrams, and class diagrams, which provide a detailed overview of various aspects of the system. The results of this research can serve as a guide for application developers and demonstrate the benefits of UML in designing complex information systems.

Abstract

Introduction: This study explores the spatial distribution and climatic influences on schistosomiasis in Zambia using remote-sensed data, specifically focusing on the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) and maximum temperature (Tmax). Material and Methods: By analysing prevalence data over a decade (2002-2012) and employing Geographic Information System (GIS) and Remote Sensing (RS) technologies, we identified regions conducive to the transmission of the disease. Results: The findings revealed significant variability in schistosomiasis prevalence across Zambia. Climatic cut-offs for schistosomiasis transmission were established, highlighting NDVI values between 134 - 153 and Tmax ranges of 19.4 – 27.6°C as optimal for sustaining transmission. Conclusion: The study underscores the pressing need for comprehensive control strategies that extend beyond school-based treatments, addressing the broader community and targeting at-risk populations. Furthermore, the established climatic cut-offs provide a framework for future research and public health initiatives aimed at reducing the burden of schistosomiasis in Zambia. This work emphasizes the intricate relationship between climate, health interventions, and disease dynamics, calling for adaptive strategies in the face of climate change.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out and describe the use of GIS in mapping the level of landslide vulnerability in Sibolangit District, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra. The model used referred to the estimation of the 2004 Puslittanak, as it utilizes parameters that are easy to measure, widely available, and in accordance with the territory of Indonesia. These parameters include rainfall, rock type, soil type, slope gradient, and land cover.  The research methods used were overlay, scoring, and weighting. In the mapping process, each parameter had a score of classification multiplied by the weight of each parameter, then the results of the multiplication of the scores and weights were summed based on the suitability of their geographical location. The results of the study showed that the Sibolangit District area had the potential for landslides from low, medium to high levels. Based on the landslide disaster prediction model, the study area predominantly fell under the moderate susceptibility class, covering 15 villages. Additionally, 10 villages were identified with low vulnerability level and 5 villages with high vulnerability level. The use of GIS was also used to see the size of each area in Sibolangit District based on the level of vulnerability to landslide disasters. The level of validity of this map is quite good because it uses official data and methods suitable for the territory of Indonesia. Thus, it is accurate enough for the purpose of vulnerability identification and landslide disaster mitigation planning.
