The aim of this study was to analyze the types of communication strategies used by the Information Center Staff at Sacred Monkey Forest Ubud, the type of communication strategies mostly used by the staff, and the function of communication strategies used by the staff. In this study, the subject was the Information Center staff at Sacred Monkey Forest Ubud. Qualitative design was employed in this study. There were two methods of data collection were used namely; observation and interview. The findings of study show that there are eight types of communication strategies used by the staff, namely: message abandonment (6%), approximation (2%), non-linguistic signal (18%), literal translation (10%), foreign zing (6%), appeal for help (3%), stalling or time gaining (44%), and clarification request (11%). Time gaining is the type of communication strategies mostly used by the staff. There are two main functions of communication strategies used, namely; (1) to ovoid language difficulties and make the visitors easier to understand and is not confuse about the utterance, and (2) to make the communication more efficient and provide time to think.Â Keywords: communication strategies, information center, sacred monkey forest ubud

This study aims to examine the influence of competence of human resources, utilization of information technology and accountability to the quality of local government financial statements. This research also aims to test the variable of internal control system of moderation of human resources competence relation, This study aims to examine the influence of competence of human resources, utilization of information technology and accountability to the quality of local government financial report. This research is a quantitative research with descriptive approach. The sampling technique used purposive sampling method. The sample in this research is employees of Regional Financial Management Agency (BPKD), while the number of questionnaires processed in this study as many as 34 pieces of questionnaires. The results showed that the competence of human resources, the utilization of information technology and accountability have a positive effect on the quality of local government financial statements. The internal control system is unable to moderate the competence variable of human resources and utilization of information technology to the quality of the regional financial report, but the internal control system is able to moderate the variable of accountability to the quality of local government financial report.

AbstractThe industry of information and communication technology (ICT) has an important role in the transition of economic-based knowledge, and has a chance in the social-economic development, particularly for the developing countries. Human capital is indeed important in the knowledge-based sector like IT industry. In developing countries, particularly Indonesia, human capital was the strongest factor to stimulate the growth of IT industry. Human capital is intangible asset which is very important to be developed. Therefore, companies must invest their capital to develop their human capital which tends to give a high impact on companies performance. This paper explained and analyzed the role of human capital in term of ICT industry development in Indonesia, then developed the model by summarizing existing theories that explained the relationship between development of human capital and the performance of ICT companies. The model that developed was expected to be the benchmark for human capital development in the other industries, particularly in developing country.AbstrakIndustri teknologi informasi dan komunikasi (TIK) memainkan peran utama dalam transisi pengetahuan berbasis ekonomi, dan berpeluang untuk pembangunan sosial-ekonomi, terutama bagi negara-negara berkembang. Human capital memainkan peran penting dalam sektor berbasis pengetahuan seperti industri TIK. Di negara berkembang khususnya Indonesia, human capital merupakan faktor pendorong penting pertumbuhan industri TIK. Sehingga, perusahaan harus meng- investasikan sumber daya yang diperlukan dalam mengembangkan sumber daya manusia yang cenderung memiliki dampak yang besar pada kinerja. Artikel ini menjelaskan dan menganalisis peran modal manusia dalam pengembangan industri TIK di Indonesia serta me- ngembangkan model berdasarkan rangkuman teori yang telah ada yang menjelaskan hubungan antara pengembangan modal manusia dan kinerja perusahaan ICT. Model yang dikembangkan diharapkan dapat menjadi acuan dalam pengembangan human capital di industri lainnya, khususnya di negara berkembang.

Human resources at the companies in Indonesia should be an important focus for investors, due to the general complaints of low labor productivity compared to other countries. This study aimed to investigate the value relevance of human capital disclosure and changes of human capital disclosure to share price and share return on listed companies at Indonesia Stock Exchange from all industrial sectors in 2016. Human capital information measured by word counting of information related to human capital in the firm annual report. The results showed that the disclosure information of human capital was value relevant with share price but only from qualification/ competencies category. For the disclosure changes in human capital, the information did not show any significant effect to return per share. Thus, generally Indonesia investors only focus on information on qualification/competency human resources in companies at that time, other information was ignored.JEL Classification: G11, G14, J24DOI: https://doi.org/10.26905/jkdp.v22i4.1945

Sejak menjadi kota otonomi, dinamika pembangunan di kota Tomohon mengalami peningkatan yang signifikan. Seiring perkembangan suatu daerah atau kota yang semakin meningkat baik dari segi penduduk, prasarana sarana, pelayanan publik, serta aspek lainnya, akan disertai juga dengan timbulnya dampak salah satunya permasalahan sampah. Tempat Pembuangan Akhir (TPA) merupakan tahapan akhir pemrosesan sampah oleh sebab itu TPA harus dipersiapkan dengan baik termasuk dalam Pemilihan lokasi TPA yang sesuai standar yang berlaku agar sampah dapat terkelola dengan baik dan meminimalisir pencemaran. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah 1) mengetahui tahapan pemilihan lokasi TPA berdasarkan standar yang berlaku dengan mengunakan Geography Information System (GIS); 2) menganalisis faktor-faktor penentu dalam pemilihan lokasi TPA berdasarkan karakteristik wilayah; 3) menemukan alternatif lokasi TPA di kota Tomohon. Berdasarkan hasil studi didapati, pertama, tahapan pemilihan lokasi TPA berdasarkan SNI 03-3241-1994 terdapat 3 tahapan yaitu a) Tahap Regional untuk menentukan beberapa alternatif zona layak dan zona tidak layak, b) Tahap Penyisih untuk melakukan skoring atau penilaian lanjutan terhadap alternatif lokasi yang diperoleh pada tahap pertama, dan c) Tahap Penetapan lokasi TPA. Tiga tahapan tersebut dianalisis menggunakan GIS dimana data-data spasial diolah dengan metode Buffering, dan Overlay (dengan pendekatan kuantitatif Binary); Kedua, faktor-faktor penentu dalam pemilihan lokasi TPA berdasarkan karakteristik wilayah yaitu penggunaan lahan, kawasan strategis, jarak terhadap permukiman; Ketiga alternatif Â lokasi TPA yaitu di Kelurahan Tara-Tara 1 Kecamatan Tomohon Barat dengan luas wilayah 12 Ha. Lokasi TPA terpilih berdekatan dengan TPA eksisting Tomohon saat ini, sehingga pemerintah dapat melakukan pengembangan lokasi TPA.Kata Kunci : TPA, Pemilihan Lokasi, GIS

Construction industry in Malaysia has moved forward into technology-driven where its transition is in progress from conventional method to a more advanced and mechanized system known as the Industrialized Building System (IBS). This paper presents economic aspects of using Interlocking Hollow Brick System (IHBS) in the construction of the Primary Distribution Sub-station (PPU) of energy infrastructure asset development. The main objective is to compare the difference in construction method between IHBS with the conventional method. The study is focused on comparing various aspects of using interlocking block system in terms of time, costs, and utilization of workforce. Building Information Modelling tools in this study are used. From the analysis and modeling of the PPU, it is shown that the implementation of IHBS can reduce construction time, cost, and utilization of workforce up to 40% - 50% as compared to the conventional method. The construction time using IHBS can be reduced up to 48% as compared to the conventional construction method.

Increased profit of batik SMEs is influenced by the use of e-catalogs and profits is increasing if e-catalogs also apply sales SIA. This study aims to (1) analyze the effect of application of batik e-catalog on sales SIA, (2) to analyze the effect of the application of batik e-catalog on increasing the profit of batik SMEs; and (3) to analyze the effect of the application of e-catalog of batik to increase the profit of SMEs batik tulis through SIA sales. The results of research is increasing profit if e-catalog is applied because the consumer network is increasingly widespread and profit is increasing if supported by the SIA integrated sales means consumers choose batik tulis in e-catalog and then make sales transactions through SIA online sales so much easier for consumers buy batik products so that the impact on increasing the profit of SMEs batik tulis.

This study conducted a user centered design approach based on user perception using the Graduate Student Information System. This study start by requirement gathering employs interview method with discussing about its interface design and its available menu. Then following as design, evaluation and delivery to actual user. The proposed design is evaluated by 30 respondent using questionnaire The findings from the analyzed result show that usability factor encountered by user that has high average mean was interface standard. The study prove that the current system needs to improve from functionality aspect. The proposed system is expected to help the administration task.

Information and communications technology (ICT) in recent times has become a viable strategic policy option adopted by many businesses in order to compete favourably in a competitive and dynamic ICT driven market. This strategic move by business organizations is being hindered by some challenges which has invariably reduced the benefits accruable from ICT deployment for business operations especially in the inventory management. Primary data formed the methodology of the study. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analyze data obtained through the administration of structured questionnaire. It was established during the field survey that challenges facing the use of ICT had impacted negatively on the performance of inventory management in the Nigerian brewery industry during the period under study. It was also revealed that the cost of software was a major challenge in the industry and conclude that the identified challenges had significant effect on customers satisfaction of the firms in the Nigerian brewery industry. It is recommended that management of firms in the Nigerian brewery industry should collaborate with software developers in Nigerian to develop a software that will be a replica of ERP but should be efficient, effective and affordable for inventory management and other operations in the industry.

An Evaluation of English Learning Materials for Information and Technology Students Department at Politeknik Negeri Padang Indri Astuti

This study aimed to get the criteria for English language teaching materials needed by Padang State Polytechnic Information and Technology students and evaluate English teaching materials that were used to determine the level of compatibility of teaching materials used with criteria obtained in terms of language, content, and methodology. This research was an evaluation research. Questionnaires, interviews, and analysis formats were used to obtain data. The results of data analysis showed that: (1) criteria for English language teaching materials were needed by students majoring in Information and Technology in terms of language indicated that the teaching material used was in accordance with the needs of students, majors, and their level of English; in terms of the content of teaching material used had an emphasis on speaking and listening skills and teaching materials used for writing and reading were still lack; in terms of the methodology of teaching materials used were equipped with activities that train speaking skills so that training and assignments were focused on practicing speaking skills. (2) The level of compatibility of teaching material in terms of language was 58%. (3) The level of compatibility of teaching material in terms of contents, namely 42%. (4) The level of compatibility of teaching materials used in terms of methodology was 42%. Based on the results of the study, it could be concluded that students majoring in Information and Technology needed material that could improve their listening and speaking skills, then the material used in writing and reading was further reproduced.
