Abstract

With the level of competition and consumer demand is changing rapidly, the speed and accuracy of the information flow in the supply chain increasingly necessary. Sharing of information between the parties in a supply chain plays an important role in improving the sustainability of a business, but imperfection information is inevitable because each party in the supply chain has a different objective. This condition increases the importance of a research on the mitigation of asymmetric information in the supply chain, therefore the purpose of this study was to conduct a review of previous studies related to overcoming the asymmetric information and map research trend on mitigating asymmetric information in the supply chain. We used systematic literature review (SLR) methods to analyze the data collected from Web of Science and Scopus database from 2005 to 2016. The results of this study can be used as a guide and a reference for further research related to overcoming the asymmetry of information in the supply chain in every industrial sector.

Abstract

Logistics is the movement engine for cargos and merchandises both for domestics and international. People complete their business process through logistics transportation, especially to move cargos and merchandises reaching their end users around the world, hence transportation also can be considered as the backbone to business supply chain. Unfortunately, their operations produced negative impacts to our environment and society. Thus, business activities nowadays goes beyond sustaining economic sustainability solely. They are concern dearly on the environmental quality and human well-being as well. The objective of this paper is to review the influence of institutional policies and information technology (IT) adoption towards sustainable logistics transportations in the economic, environmental and social performance. Through understanding of Institutional Theory and Resource-Based View (RBV) Theory, institutional policies and IT adoption can be considered as the enabler for logistics performance and their sustainability. This paper expects to provide new insights to the logistics practitioners and policy makers in sustaining logistics sector in parallel with todays world demand, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Abstract

Generally speaking, in search of alternative ways that is meant to prevent environment pollution and its sub hazard consequences, developers and planners as well as the masses nowadays are encouraged to use what is call a green home when building their houses. These types of houses typically use resources that are environmentally responsive. However, this new approach to house developments lacks clearly defined and globally accepted standards on what constitutes a green model. Thus, this research aims to educate the public about sustainable transformations from traditional homes to green homes by modelling the 3D model virtually to illustrate the differences between the conventional homes and green homes and its impact on the environment, and demonstrate the types of green alternatives available in Malaysia in order to construct the green homes. The ultimate goal is to create digitally a 3D model of the green homes through Building Information Modelling (BIM). BIM allows the public to run computer simulations that help to understand and visualise the evolutions of the traditional homes to green homes. The digital 3D model is effective in influencing and educating the residents about the benefits of green housing practices and ways to incorporate green building technologies.

Abstract

A certificate is a document stating that someone has fulfilled certain requirements and can practice in a field. The certificate verification procedure in universities is still a lot done manually and sometimes does not verify the certificate. This results in many fake certificates. To overcome this problem, a website is created that utilizes the QR Code with the aim of quickly accessing data verification of a certificate. With QR Code scanning technology, paper-based document fraud can be easily carried out without high costs. Therefore, the design of information systems or the creation of web-based applications is a solution to provide convenience to users in the process of data processing, data retrieval to report generation. In making this application the author uses the Agile Software Development model with the Global Extreme Programming process model. While the tools used are UML (Unified Modeling Language) and ERD (Entity Relationship Diagram).
