Abstract

Information technology (IT) and knowledge management (KM) are key in evidence-based medicine (EBM), a decision-making approach in healthcare that relies on the best available evidence to make informed clinical decisions. In this scoping review, the aim is to provide an overview of the existing scientific evidence regarding how information technology (IT) and knowledge management (KM) improve evidence-based medicine (EMB). This review considered studies that were conducted in healthcare settings where information technology (IT) was used to manage knowledge. The literature search involved four online databases, namely ScienceDirect, Scopus, PubMed, and Web of Science. The search produced 2,063 articles, 17 of which were selected for the review. The results show that two important research streams exist, all indicating that IT and knowledge management (KM) enhance patient outcome, organisation performance and health workers job satisfaction. However, most IT projects in healthcare are program specific and have concentrated on monitoring diseases rather than promoting collaboration and KM. In addition, there is a lack of literature on how information system (IS) design affects healthcare provision and a lack of comprehensive frameworks for evaluating KM practices in healthcare settings

Abstract

The strategic role of information technology (IT) governance in preserving operational performance and competitive advantage is strengthened by digital transformation. Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN), a state-owned company in the energy sector, finds it difficult to manage rising technological risks while coordinating IT investments with business priorities. In order to create an improvement roadmap, this study combines the COBIT 2019 framework with a Value-Risk prioritization technique using the McFarlan Strategic Grid. A qualitative descriptive case study was carried out using observation, capability assessments, literature reviews, and interviews. An average capability score of 3.67, which denotes a Defined/Established maturity level, was obtained from the evaluation of fifteen COBIT priority processes. The McFarlan analysis identified four Strategic, six Key Operational, one High-Potential, and seventeen Support initiatives. The final roadmap enhances governance effectiveness by improving strategic alignment, sequencing initiatives based on risk and value, and supporting executive decision making.

Abstract

The integration of information technology in the education system has become an urgent need, especially in the academic assessment system. One of the growing innovations is the implementation of digital report cards as a replacement for conventional assessment systems. This study aims to analyze the readiness of educators in adopting this technology, identify the benefits and challenges in its implementation, and provide strategic recommendations to optimize the implementation of digital report cards. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through a questionnaire with narrative answers and a review of relevant literature. The results showed that digital report cards provide significant benefits in improving the efficiency, transparency, and accuracy of the assessment system. However, some challenges are still faced, such as limited infrastructure, low digital literacy of educators. Therefore, the strategic recommendations include improving technology infrastructure and continuous training for educators. With the right strategy, digital report cards can be an innovative solution in the education system, support broader digital transformation, and improve the quality of academic management in educational institutions.

Abstract

This study analyzes the influence of transformational leadership, Management Information Systems (MIS), and organizational commitment on the professional development of teachers at SMPN Dayun Subdistrict. The research uses a quantitative correlational approach, involving all teachers through a saturated sampling technique. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed through path analysis with SmartPLS. The findings show that transformational leadership has a significant positive effect on teacher professional development (β = 0.464; T = 4.962; p = 0.000). MIS also demonstrates a significant positive effect (β = 0.384; T = 3.151; p = 0.000), as does organizational commitment (β = 0.498; T = 6.187; p = 0.000). Organizational commitment acts as a strong predictor mediating the influence of transformational leadership (β = 0.788) and MIS (β = 0.808) on professional development. The structural model indicates that transformational leadership and MIS jointly explain 56.5% of the variation in teacher professionalism (R² = 0.565), confirming their dominant role in enhancing teacher professional competence.

Abstract

Medan City is a city with a dense population. This causes residential areas in Medan Marelan tend to be densely packed. The negative impact is that are prone to fire disasters. To prevent the impact of these fires, monitoring is needed. Way of monitoring that can be done is using remote sensing. This research carried out remote-sensing by using the Himawari-9, MODIS, and VIIRS satellites. The method used are the Red Green Blue (RGB) method for the Himawari-9 satellite and the Fire Information Resource Management System (FIRMS) method for the MODIS and VIIRS satellites. Based on this research, the MODIS and VIIRS satellites are superior in monitoring small fires that occurred in Medan Marelan compared to the Himawari-9 satellite. The Himawari-9 satellite is more likely to detect clouds over fire locations than the fire itself. This was proven by radiosonde data which stated that atmospheric conditions at that time were moderately unstable. With additional information via rainfall data on November 16 2023 with a range of 20-50 mm.
