Abstract

This study aims to design and develop a letter management information system at a higher education institution in the Special Region of Yogyakarta, known as Campus Y. The institution currently relies on manual procedures for managing incoming and outgoing correspondence, which causes inefficiencies and delays in information flow. Using a Research and Development (R&D) approach, the study applies the ADDIE model and focuses specifically on the analysis and design phases. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, field observations, and documentation, and were analysed qualitatively. The results of the needs analysis indicate that incoming and outgoing mail is still managed using physical books and disposition sheets, leading to time-consuming processes and dependence on the physical presence of administrators. Although letter drafting utilizes basic digital tools such as Microsoft Word, the institution lacks an integrated archival system. In response, a system flow was designed using flowcharts, covering processes from mail input and disposition to outgoing letter creation, correction, and storage. The system is expected to streamline correspondence workflows, reduce reliance on manual methods, and enhance the efficiency, traceability, and responsiveness of academic administration. This study is limited to the system design stage and recommends further development and evaluation in subsequent phases. Keyword: system information; letter management; research and development

Abstract

Micro and small enterprises play a crucial role in economic resilience, yet many continue to face persistent challenges in maintaining systematic and reliable financial records. Limited accounting capacity and uneven access to information technology remain major barriers to the adoption of proper financial record-keeping practices. This study aims to examine the roles of accounting training and information technology access in influencing financial record-keeping practices among micro and small enterprises. Using a quantitative research design, primary data were collected through structured questionnaires from 50 micro and small enterprises operating in an urban area. The data were analyzed using validity and reliability tests, multiple linear regression, and hypothesis testing, including t-tests, F-tests, and the coefficient of determination. The results indicate that accounting training does not have a statistically significant effect on financial record-keeping practices, suggesting that training programs alone may not be sufficient to ensure consistent implementation. In contrast, access to and utilization of information technology show a significant positive effect on financial record-keeping practices, highlighting the critical role of digital tools in improving accuracy, efficiency, and consistency in financial reporting. Simultaneously, accounting training and information technology access jointly influence financial record-keeping practices, although technology access emerges as the dominant factor. These findings imply that policies and support programs for micro and small enterprises should prioritize expanding access to user-friendly digital accounting technologies while reorienting accounting training toward more practical, application-based approaches to enhance their effectiveness.

Abstract

The Length of stay is a crucial indicator in hospital service systems. This study aims to analyze the influence of Lean Six Sigma implementation, the use of information technology, and bed capacity on the length of stay at RS Karya Medika Bantar Gebang. The research method used is a quantitative approach with a descriptive analytical design. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using univariate, bivariate, and multivariate tests. The univariate analysis results show that the majority of respondents are aged 20-35 years (59.00%), female (64.10%), and work as nurses (56.40%). Bivariate analysis using Pearson correlation test shows that Lean Six Sigma implementation has a strong relationship with length of stay (r = 0.855, p = 0.000), the use of information technology has a very strong relationship (r = 0.906, p = 0.000), and bed capacity also has a strong relationship (r = 0.838, p = 0.000). Multivariate analysis results using multiple linear regression indicate that Lean Six Sigma implementation (β = 1.583, p = 0.000) and the use of information technology (β = 0.954, p = 0.043) significantly affect the length of stay, while bed capacity (β = 0.505, p = 0.243) does not have a significant effect. The regression model used has an R value of 0.944 and an R Square value of 0.892, indicating that 89.2% of variations in length of stay can be explained by the three independent variables. The conclusion of this study is that Lean Six Sigma implementation and the use of information technology significantly contribute to reducing the length of stay, while bed capacity does not have a direct impact. Therefore, hospitals are advised to further optimize the implementation of Lean Six Sigma and information technology to improve service efficiency.
