Abstract

The technology is growing at the moment strongly supporting the needs of an agency. It’s for realizing the effectiveness and efficiency as well as in improving services to the public. Especially systems that can assist in providing information and decisions in selecting of the best employee / role model to spur the employee performance. Department of Investment and Integrated Services One Stop Kebumen is one in which government agencies in determining the best employee / exemplary still running manual. There are several obstacles that occur in the process of employee assessment and the possibility of inaccurate assessment performed by employees. Of the reasons the author tries to provide alternatives troubleshooting’s is to build the human resources system using AHP (Analytical Hierarchy Process) with the aim of selecting the best employee / department exemplary in investment and one door integrated services Kebumen district. With the Human Resources Information System Using Method of AHP (Analytical Hierarchy Process) can help decisions in selecting the best employee / exemplary at the Department of Investment and Integrated Services One Stop Kebumen.

Abstract

High-rise building projects expose a high risk due to structural design complexity, large workloads, and long project duration. The complexity of the work includes the design of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP), HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) systems, early warning, watering systems, hydrants, sprinklers, evacuation routes in the form of emergency stairs and fire doors. This research focuses on the application of BIM 5D to estimate and improve the cost performance of MEP work in high-rise hotel buildings. This research combines qualitative and quantitative approaches through in-depth interviews and BIM 5D modelling to achieve the research objective. The results showed influential factors for BIM implementation namely 2D Drawings, BIM 5D implementation, specification and technical plan, operator experiences, BIM 5D models, individual selection model, estimating, calculation process, cost database, and operator education. The findings of this research also show a cost efficiency of 3.56% from the BIM 5D implementation to the high-rise hotel building.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kajian literatur, dengan metode pengumpulan data adalah metode studi literatur. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menggali informasi tentang sejauh mana pemanfaatan ICT pada dunia pendidikan di Sumatera Selatan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada tahun 2010. Yang menghasilkan masukan – masukan kepada guru untuk selalu beradaptasi mengikuti perkembangan ICT dalam rangka pemanfaatan teknologi didalam pembelajaran.

Abstract

The aim of the study was to investigate the relationship between management of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and teachers’ work performance in secondary schools in Cross River State, Nigeria. To achieve the purpose of the study, two research questions and one null hypothesis were formulated to guide the study. Survey research design was adopted for the study. The population of the study comprised of 5288 teachers in all the 271 public secondary schools in Cross River State, Nigeria. A sample of 800 teachers was drawn using stratified and simple random sampling techniques. Two instruments titled: Management of Information and Communications Technology Questionnaire (MICTQ) and Teachers’ Work Performance Questionnaire (TWPQ) were used to collect data from the respondents. Data was analyzed using Pearson Product Moment Correlation at .05 level of significance and 798 degrees of freedom. The finding revealed that among the 12 principals’ ICT management practices, only cleaning/dusting, arrangement of facilities and ventilation of ICT centres were significant. A positive significant relationship between Information and Communication Technology and teachers’ work performance was also established (p < .05). Based on the finding, it was recommended amongst others that, there should be adequate supply of ICT facilities to secondary schools for effective utilization by teachers and students for quality teaching and learning.

Bankingindustry has learnt the grammar and understands the language of the new age and tremendously transforms the Industry fromwhat it used to be to the economic mover of the whole wide world, through the magic hands of Computer Science innovations.The adoption of ICT in banks has improved customer services, facilitated accurate records, provides for Home and OfficeBanking services, ensures convenient business hour, prompt and fair attention, and enhances faster services. The adoption ofICT improves the banks’ image and leads to a wider, faster and more efficient market. It has also made work easier and moreinteresting, improves the competitive edge of banks, improves relationship with customers and assists in solving basicoperational and planning problems. This paper work analyses the impacts made by the Information and CommunicationTechnology in the Banking Industry, and some of the unexploited areas of the Information and Communication Technology in theindustry.

Abstract

Having observed carefully the dynamics of e- activity and technology in business, finance and other realms of humanendeavour, the issue of data and information security with computer networks becomes more relevant in order to keep up withthe growing trend, hence the need to carefully address some important issues concerning data and information security.Information and data security, computer security are often incorrectly used interchangeably. These fields are interrelated oftenand share the common goals of protecting confidentiality, integrity and availability of information .Computer security can focus onensuring the availability and correct operation of a computer system without concern for the information stored or processed bythe computer. Governments and other realms of human endeavour amass a great deal of confidential information about theiremployees, customers, products, research and financial status. Most of this information is now collected, processed and storedon electronics computers and transmitted across networks to other computer. Protecting confidential information is a businessrequirement and in various cases also an ethical and legal requirement. This article presents a general overview of informationand data security and its core concepts in this era where e- activity and technology has been the prevailing trends in gettingthings done throughout the world.

Abstract

The paper investigated the usage of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in Osun State PrimarySchools. Questionnaires were administered to 100 primary school teachers. The questionnaires were designed to find out theroles of ICT in teaching and learning and problems associated with its usage in the primary schools.Results showed that majorityof the primary school teachers in Osun State lack the basic skills required for the usage of computer. In addition, the teacherssupport the implementation of ICT in the primary schools. The results also revealed that the ICT is facing with problems in OsunState Primary Schools.

Abstract

The aggregative aim orienting this research was to examine the impact of the information and communication technology(ICT) on the success of the implementation of a learning organization (LO) strategy. From 416 questionnaires, conducted within thestrategic Algerian state-owned company: Sonatrach, results indicated that ICT have a significant positive statistical influence on thesuccess of the implementation of the “Learning Sonatrach” strategy.The research provides concrete evidence of the consciousness ofthe Algerian managers of the importance of transforming their organizations into learning systems and the necessity of fostering up-todatetechnologies that would facilitate the transformation process. The study revealed a number of recommendations for academicresearchers and managers.

Abstract

Surround a big river estuary coastline has a dynamic characteristic and change along a period of time, because of anatural process and/or it is accelerated by human activities. The surround Sekampung river estuary coastline located in Rawa Sragi area is one of the most dynamic coastlines in southern Lampung Province that has changed significantly from 1959 (as a natural process) to year 1987 (as an accelerated process by human activities) since the government of Indonesia has applied swamp drainage system for Rawa Sragi area. It is likely that the coastline has changed significantly in the period of 1987 to 2009 (as an increasing intensity of the human activities in the surrounding Rawa Sragi land). The objective of this research was to analyze the coastline change in the surrounding of Sekampung river estuary in two periods of time: (1) the change of the 1959 – 1987 period coastlines; and (2) the change of the 1987 – 2009 period coastlines. The method of this research was a GIS technique, the implementation was divided into three main steps: (1) the first analysis was conducted in laboratory include raster data source analysis and registration, coastline digitations, and overlaying and analysis of the coastline data; (2) field observation (ground check) was conducted to observe and verify the ground existing coastline; and (3) the last analysis wasconducted after ground check activity to improve and to verify the first coastline analysis results. The result of this research indicated that coastline change in the period of 1959 to 1987 increased the coast land as much as 717.19 hectares, but decreased the coast land as much as 308.51 hectares. Furthermore the coastline change in the period of 1987 to 2009 increased the coast land as much as 162.504 hectares, but decreased the coast land as much as 492.734 hectares. The 1959 – 1987 coastline change was a coast land increasing period, but the 1987 – 2009 coastline change was a coast land decreasing period.Keywords: Abrasion, accretion, coast land, coastline, estuary
