Abstract

This research is carried out in Wuryantoro Watershed, Wonogiri, Central Java. The goal of this study is to examine the remote sensing tehnology capability to obtain the parameters of the physical data of land in the prediction of sediment yield. The approach used in landscape with the land unit as mapping unit by using MUSLE (Modified Universal Soil Loss Equation) model. The data analysis used the infrared aerial photo interpretation, which is combined   by Geographical Information Systems (GIS). Infrared aerial photo on scale 1 : 10.000 in 1991 is used as primary source of data to obtain the parameters of physical data of land. The data analysis uses the Geographical Information Systems. The prediction of the sediment yield is not done directly. First, predicated the runoff characteristi, which contains of runoff coeficient, runoff volume and peak discharge. Then the runoff charateristic with other influential factors (slope, soil, and land cover and conservation practice) are used to predict the sediment yield. The result of the prediction is tested by comparing them with the data of field measurenment result. The accuracy of the result of aerial photo interpretation for prediction sediment yield is 89.45%.

Abstract

The wetland has a strategic role in national development. The potential uses of the wetland are varied such as for agriculture, fisheries, industries, and forestry. The intensive use of the wetland for agricultural development in Sumatera, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, and Papua through transmigration projects has been run since in 1973. Unfortunately, not all the projects were well developed, causing the social, economic, and physical environmental problems. These problems resulted in the negative impact for the life of the transmigration people. For that reason, the community empowerment for the unlucky transmigration people by handling the physical and non physical aspects is very important. This paper will describe the importance of providing spatial data and information biophysical wetland as an initial step in empowering people who live in the wetland resource.

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to analyze the implementation of the policy of the Directorate General of Islamic Education No. 5974 Th. 2019 concerning the management of education data based on the Education Management Information System (EMIS). This study uses library research by investigating books, literature, notes, and reports about EMIS. The results show that three steps must be taken in the EMIS policy, namely organization, interpretation, and application. EMIS-based data management has facilitated decisions and policymaking for the advancement of Islamic educational institutions. However, EMIS as an Islamic education database for policymaking has not been able to be used optimally. because the level of validity and up-to-date (updating) of the data is still not perfect. AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan menganalis implementasi kebijakan Direktorat  Jenderal Pendidikan Islam No. 5974 Th. 2019 tentang pengelolaan data pendidikan berbasis Education Management Information System (EMIS). Abstract

Many individuals with coronary heart disease (CHD) have erroneous beliefs about the condition, which in turn increases anxiety and depression. Providing information and facts about CHD through video may be able to correct the wrong conceptions of individuals about their disease. A total of 150 individuals with CHD at Hasan Sadikin Hospital, Bandung, Indonesia (male = 65%, female = 35%) were divided into a control group and two experimental groups, with a quasi-experimental before-after design. The participants completed the York Cardiac Beliefs questionnaire at the start of the measurement, immediately after watching the video (time 1), and again after watching the video six times over a two week period (time 2). Beck Anxiety Inventory and Beck Depression Inventory-II questionnaires were also completed by participants at the beginning of the experiment and at time 2. The repeated measures ANOVA analysis showed a significant decrease in both experimental groups in terms of wrong beliefs about CHD (t=8.68 & 8.69, p< .01), anxiety (p< .01), and depression (t=8.17 & 7.76, p< .01). Watching videos giving facts and information about CHD can therefore correct erroneous beliefs about CHD, and reduce levels of anxiety and depression in individuals suffering from the disease.

Abstract

Contract farming is a vital tool to connect farmer and industry. However, contracts participation between tobacco farmers and tobacco leaf supplier (TLS) was still low even though the benefit of the contract is enormous. The low participation was related to factors that affect the contract, demographics, farm characteristic, and other related factors.  However, farmer participation on the contract was still low. Besides, contracts initially became a tool to prevent market failure since it regulated how economic actors acted against others causing transaction costs (TC) due to asymmetric information that made the contract not function ideally. Therefore, this study attempts to (1) explain factors underlying farmer decision to participate in contract farming (CF), (2) explain asymmetric information. Respondents in this study were 100 respondents consisting of 50 tobacco contract farmers, and 50 independent farmers. This study applied logistic regression analysis to analyze factors affecting farmer participation in CF. Besides, the New Institutional Economy approach was exerted to analyze asymmetric information on product transfer from farmer to TLS. The results showed that factors that significantly influenced tobacco farmers' decision-making to participate in CF are farming experience, land size, risk aversion level (RAL), the certainty of price, and source of capital. Asymmetric information caused adverse selection and moral hazard. About 30% of farmers had sold products to other parties (other TLSs and middleman), and 8% of farmers had applied pesticides that TLS prohibited. Contracts that were not ideal due to asymmetric information must be re-enforced by using additional costs called transaction costs, divided into three types, (1) search and information costs, (2) cost to design, negotiate and conclude and (3) the monitor and contract enforcement costs. Monitoring costs had the potential to absorb the most considerable portion compared to the other types of transaction costs. The greater the asymmetric information generated, the greater the transaction costs incurred.
