Abstract

Land order in an urban area that is not based on complete and reasonable spatial information an cause an unintegrated development program. Therefore, spatial information that can analyze the information to make a decision of land order is greatly needed. To present the most reasonable physical data of the urban can use the data of remote sensing as a main source, because the data an present not only a high temporal resolution, but also a complete object. Along with the advance of computer-based GIS, the data of remote sensing can be integrated with GIS. In addition, the data sharing can be used in various sectors. Thus, both updating and mutual exchanging of data can be done easly.

Abstract

The study aims to estimate water storage index (IPA) of six sub watersheds (Panjang, Rengas, Legi, Galeh, Parat, and Sraten) in the cachment area of Rawapening lake by using Geographic Information System. Water storage index can be calculated from average discharge (m3) devided by water requirement (m3) for each land cover/land use. Landuse information is obtained from Indonesian Topographic Map scale of 1:25.000 as updated by using SPOT image (2006), while surface water availability data was obtained from the ministry of public works. The results indicate that 1) IPA of Panjang Subwatershed was categorized as good condition with an index value of 1,49; 2)IPA of Rengas and Legi sub watersheds were categorized as moderate condition with index value 0,76 and 0,55; 3) IPA of Galeh, Parat, and Sraten sub watersheds was categorized as bad with index value of 0,3, 0,15, and 0,33, this watershed need to be improved especially an effective water resources plan, allocating and distributing of water according to priority establishment.

Abstract

Work criteria and indicator of Catchments Area need to be determined because the success and the failure of cultivating Catchments Area can be monitored and evaluated through the determined criteria. Criteria Indicators in utilizing land, one of them is determined based on the erosion index and the ability of utilizing land, for analyzing the land critical level. However, the determination of identification and classification of land critical level has not been determined; as a result the measurement of how wide the real critical land is always changed all the year. In this study, it will be tried a formula to determine the land critical/eve/ with various criteria such as: Class KPL (Ability of Utilizing Land) and the difference of the erosion tolerance value with the great of the erosion compared with land critical level analysis using remote sensing devices. The aim of studying land critical level detection using remote sensing tool and Geographic Information System (SIG) are:1. The backwards and the advantages of critical and analysis method2. Remote Sensing Method for critical and classification3. Critical/and surveyed method in the field (SIG) Collecting and analyzing data can be found from the field survey and interpretation of satellite image visually and using computer. The collected data are analyzed as:a. Comparing the efficiency level and affectivity of collecting biophysical data through field survey, sky photo interpretation, and satellite image analysis.b. Comparing the efficiency level and affectivity of land critical level data that are found from the result of KPL with the result of the measurement of the erosion difference and erosion tolerance.

Abstract

Purworejo District, which is located in Central Java, Indonesia, is prone to landslides. These are a natural hazard that often occur in mountainous areas, so landslide hazard analysis is needed to develop mitigation strategies. This paper elaborates on the use of an evidence-based statistical approach using the Information Value Model (IVM) to conduct landslide hazard mapping. The parameters of slope, aspect, elevation, rainfall, NDVI, distance from rivers, distance from the road network, and distance from faults were employed for the analysis, which was conducted based on a raster data environment, since the pixel is the most appropriate means to represent continuous data. Landslide evidence data were collected by combining secondary data and interpreting satellite imagery to identify old landslides. The IVM was successfully calculated by combining factors related to disposition to landslides and data on 19 landslide occurrences. The results helped produce a landslide susceptibility map for the northern and eastern parts of Purworejo District.

Abstract

This research is carried out in Elo sub catchments area that contains of the regency and the municipality of Magelang and Temanggung. The goals of this study are: (1) to predict the peak discharge by using the characteristic variable of catchments physical environment by means of the aerial photo interpretation,  to examine the technical accuracy of remote sensing to detect coeficient run off which used to predict the peak discharge. The research uses the aerial photo of black and white panchromatic on the scale 1:50. 000 in I994. It issupported by secondary data and field survey. The research method is the integration between the technical remote sensing and the Geographical Information System (SIG). Field survey is used to check the result of aerial photo interpretation and to collect the data that cannot he obtained from the image. The sample uses the purposive stratified sampling. The results of the research show that: (1) the aerial photo of black and white panchromatic on the scale 1:50. 000 is obtained to interpret the slope area and it is not good to interpret the accuracy of the covered arm is about 87% and 77,4 %, (2) the current coeflicient which is accounted hased on the table of Cook method is about 40,36% - deviates 39,94% from the field data; (3) the peak discharge in Elo sub catchments area with rational formula is about 3022,03 m/second, while the peak discharge as the observation result is about 112,675 m/second. Its large of research area causs the time to peak takes a long time, which causes raining intensity increases. The increasing value of raining intensity and the flow coeficient makes the value of peak discharge increases that larger than measured peak discharge.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze land use changes in the Kelara watershed and to assess the suitability of current land use changes with the spatial planning regulation of Jeneponto within Kelara basin. This study integrates various survey techniques, remote sensing, and geographic information system technology analysis. Geospatial information used in this study consists of Landsat ETM 7+ satellite imagery (2009) and Landsat 8 (2014) as well as a number of spatial data based on vector data which is compiled by the Jeneponto Government. Remote sensing data using two time series (2009 and 2014) are analyzed by means of supervised classification and visual classification.  The analysis indicated that land use type for the paddy fields and forests (including mangroves) converted become a current land use which is inconsistent with the spatial planning regulation of Jeneponto. The use of land for settlement tends to increase through conversion of wetlands (rice fields). These conditions provide an insight that this condition will occur in the future, so that providing the direction of land use change can be better prepared and anticipated earlier.

Abstract

This research is aimed at detecting the areas having potential to be the slums by looking at the decrease of population index and physical environment from year to year. In this way, a model of analysis for the area with the potential of being slummed can be resulted. The research was conducted in some parts of Jebres Subdistrict in Surakarta Municipality by employing qualitative method approach. There were two types of data used in this research. The first were prime data inform of black and white Panchromatic aerial photographs with the scale of 1 :5 O00 at the year of 1982, and small format colorful anchromatic aerial photographs at the year of 1992. The second were secondary data related to the population condition i.e. demography, economy, health, social and culture, as well as physical environment covering water and land for 20 years (1982 j 2000).All the data in this research were analyzed by Geographical Infiormation Systems at arc Info. The final result of the research showed that based on the 1982 black and white Panchromatic aerial photographs, slum areas did not exist at all. Meanwhile, based on the 1992 small format colorful Panchromatic aerial photographs with the scale of 1:5 000, 140.882 hectares of slum areas were found at jagalan and Gandekan Villages. Overlay from the maps of quality development in dwelling area and the decrease in environment index produced a map showing the area with the potential of being slummed covering 240.14 Hectares.
