Abstract

Application of Remote Sensing and Geographic Information System Methods for Land Using Difference. Land using difference analysis has been done using remote sensing and Geographic Information System (GIS) methods. Identification of land using difference was conducted using map overlaying process of 1990s (digitized scalling 1:50.000) and 1997s land using map (interpreted from Landsat TM (Thematic Mapper) Image 1997) with UTM (Universal Transverse Mercator) coordinate. Image enhancement was done through histogram equalization with supervised classification devided into 7 classes: rice field, settlement, dry field, industry, pond, sport field and bush. Land using difference and river pollution BOD (Biological Oxygen Demand), COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand) and TSS (Total Suspended Solid) analysis were done through GIS to get database in spasial link and tabular format. Land using difference was done based on division segment of Kali Surabaya contour as reference. The result shows that there were changes on land using from 1990 until 1997 that rice field reduced by 5.72 %; settlement increased by 15,16 %; dry field increased by 0.54 %; industry increased by 36.67 % and bush reduced by 26.67 %. Water pollution analysis results which was done using multiple linier regression show both BOD (determinant coefficient 56 %) and TSS (determinant coefficient 65 %) are affected by difference in land using, but COD (determinant coefficient 24 %) is not affected.

Abstract

Remote Sensing and Geographical Information System to Identify Drought Potency. Kebumen regency was drought in year 2008, community clean water shortages and irrigation water following a decline in water resources. The use of remote sensing data and GIS can be used to identify the potential for drought-prone areas. Transformation of Landsat TM satellite imagery to obtain the brightness index, wetness index and vegetation index used to determine surface conditions in relation to drought. Brightness index and wetness index derived from the tasseled cap modifications, while the vegetation index derived from normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) values. Other parameters such as aquifer conditions, rainfall and other types of dry agricultural land use was a factor in identifying drought. The data are performed in accordance with the zone description in order to get the study area in relation to regional drought. The result of the research is identified area the district of Karangsambung, Karanggayam, Sadang, Alian, Puring, Klirong, Buluspesantren, Ambal and Mirit potential drought.

Abstract

Information extraction is an early stage of a process of textual data analysis. Information extraction is required to get information from textual data that can be used for process analysis, such as classification and categorization. A textual data is strongly influenced by the language. Arabic is gaining a significant attention in many studies because Arabic language is very different from others, and in contrast to other languages, tools and research on the Arabic language is still lacking. The information extracted using the knowledge dictionary is a concept of expression. A knowledge dictionary is usually constructed manually by an expert and this would take a long time and is specific to a problem only. This paper proposed a method for automatically building a knowledge dictionary. Dictionary knowledge is formed by classifying sentences having the same concept, assuming that they will have a high similarity value. The concept that has been extracted can be used as features for subsequent computational process such as classification or categorization. Dataset used in this paper was the Arabic text dataset. Extraction result was tested by using a decision tree classification engine and the highest precision value obtained was 71.0% while the highest recall value was 75.0%.

Abstract

Remote sensing imagery Landsat-8 is one image that has a good temporal resolution; in addition to the availability of data, this image can be obtained free of charge. Land cover type SCS-CN is part of a unit of land that affects runoff. The use of medium resolution imagery in reducing the SCS-CN land use type is considered relatively difficult, and it yields less good accuracy. Limitations on multispectral classification only rely on facts derived from spectral reflection, so that the two data are the same since different characteristic results are not so good. This study aims to determine the accuracy of precision medium-resolution imagery in reducing parameter land use type SCS-CN by using the knowledge-based analysis. The importance of understanding the landscape-ecology can be used to assist the translation from land cover in the form of land use. Vegetation factors and ecosystems are often used to generate metrics-based landscape. Accuracy from the interpretation of remote sensing image medium-resolution is obtained by 85.17%. Therefore, Landsat-8, in addition to easy retrieval of data, can also be used to identify the type of land cover SCS-CN, which is useful for the interests of surface water resources.

Abstract

This study applies the ARMA model to estimate the speed of adjustment coeficients, as suggested by Theobal and Yallup (2004), in the IDX. There is not suficient evidence to conclude that the IDX overreacts to information. However, the indings suggest that the market either underreacts or fully adjusts to information. The IDX displays signiicant underreactions at weeky intervals that occur after the full adjustment. Investors' reaction is not sensitive to the size and liquidity of the indices. Size alone could not provide suficient explanation for the different adjustment pattern across sector indices.

Abstract

This study focuses on the behavior of open-ended mutual fund investors when encountered with multiple information signals of mutual fund’s historical performance. The behavior of investors can be reflected on their decision to subscribe or redeem their funds from mutual funds. Moreover, we observe the presence of ambiguity within investors due to multiple information signals, and also their reaction towards it. Our finding shows that open-ended mutual fund investors do not only have sensitivity towards past performance information signals, but also have additional sensitivity towards the ambiguity of multiple information signals. Because of the presence of ambiguity, investors give more consideration to negative information signals and the worst information signal in their investment decisions.

Abstract

This paper investigates the impact of trade openness and financial openness towards informationefficiency of the ASEAN countries’ stock market. The sample consists of the five most developedstock markets in the ASEAN region – Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand, covering research period of 2000-2014. This study employs panel data analysis in the model. The result suggests that, when Singapore is excluded from the sample, de facto trade openness has a negative impact on information efficiency, while de facto financial openness has a positive impact on information efficiency. De jure measure is shown to have no significant impact on information efficiency.

Abstract

This study aims to determine success factors on equity-based crowdfunding project fundraising in several countries in Asia. We evaluated three categories of factors: campaign characteristics, human capital factors, and social capital factors. We evaluate models using 201 project samples on various platforms from Indonesia, Malaysia, United Arab Emirates, Israel, and South Korea from January 2018 until December 2019. We used Ordinary Least Square (OLS) as the method of hypothesis testing. We found that the most critical variable in the campaign characteristics is the financial information provided. Meanwhile, unless the number of team members, each human capital factor significantly positive to campaign success. Lastly, both social networks and business advisor's presence have a significant positive relationship to crowdfunding project fundraising success. However, we do not found a significantly different pattern between high-income and lower-income countries evaluated.
