Abstract

 ABSTRACT    This research entitled ‘’Pernyataan dalam tindak ujar Ekspositif pada pidato Obama di universitas Indonesia 10 November 2010. There are six types of statement, those are: affirming, denying, stating, describing, classing, identifying. The objectives of research are to analyze the functions of statement in expositive act of Obama speech at the university of Indonesia, November 10,2010. The data of Statement have been taken from the speech of Obama at the University of Indonesia. The research uses descriptive method supported by Austin’s theory. The result of this research shows that are six functions of statement that could be found in the speech of Obama at the university of Indonesia are affirming, denying, stating, describing, classing, identifying. Abstract

 ABSTRACTTujuan dari penelitian ini untuk menganalisis dan mengidentifikasi bentuk dampak perang yang di alami oleh setiap tokoh dalam film dan mengungkapkan setiap bentuk dampak perang lewat unsur-unsur film. Pendekatan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif. Pengumpulan data di lakukan dengan mengscreenshotsetiap adegan atau gambar yang berkaiatan dengan bentuk dampak perang maupun yang berkaitan dengan unsur-unsur film, serta percakapan yang juga di paparkan dengan gambar maupun adegan.hasil dari analisis dan identifikasi yang telah di lakukan penulis menemukan beberaopa bentuk dampak perang yaitu;(1)kehilanagan debut karir, (2)perlakuan kekerasan, (3)korban tewas, (4)kerja paksa dan penindasan, serta (5) kecelakaan pesawat. Dari hasil yang di dapatkan, di simpulkan bahwa bentuk dampak perang yang di jelaskan lewat unsur-unsur film berdasarkan pada bentuk-bentuk film yang telah dipaparkan pada bab sebelumnya, dan dampak perang yang digambarkan lewat tiga unsur film yaitu; Dimensi Ruang,Dimensi Waktu, dan Dimensi Suara. Kata kunci : Dampak Perang, Bentuk-bentuk Dampak Perang, Unsur-unsur Film

Abstract

ABSTRACTTh  coverage of pragmatics presupposition include, speecs act and deixis, in the reaserch, thewriter focuses on one of the the categorie of pragmatics namely presupposition in the film Robosapien : Rebooted by Sean McNamara. The purpose of the reaserch in an attempt to reaserch  indentify and  to classify  the type of presupposition in the film : Robosapien : Rebooted by Sean  McNamara. In collect  the data the writer taken the relevan data trough  the conversation away characters utterance in the movie. Then the writer analyzes the collected data descriptively by Djadjasudarma and in analysis data by using the theory of George Yule. The findings of  this research  shows that presupposition by Yule can be categorized into six types which are : existensial presupposition, factive presupposition, lexical presupposition, structural presupposition, non-factive presupposition, and counterfactual presupposition. the structural presupposition is not used in this film.Keywords : Pragmatic, Presupposition, Robosapien : Rebooted.

Abstract

ABSTRACT             The title of this research is “Salam dan Ungkapan perpisahan dalam Bahasa Inggris dan Bahasa Pasan: Suatu Analisis Kontrastif“. The study is an attempt to analyze, and describe, the contrast English and Pasan Language which focuses on Greetings and leave taking in relation to theirs forms and pattern in both languages.    Greetings and leave takings are part of talk and action while  very important in conversation, greetings is used for opening a conversation and also for establishing social relationship with the other people,  whereas leave takings is used to closing a conversation.  This research uses descriptive method and contrastive analysis. The data were taken from Library research and field research, in this case choosing informants and giving the interview.  The data were collected, analyzed ,and described, to find out the forms and patterns of Greetings and leave taking the writer used theory of  Wardhaugh (1986), Tilit  and  Bruder  (1985) , Brown and Ford (1961). After that, the data were contrasted by using Lado’s theory (1971). The results of this study is Greetings and leave taking in English and Pasan language has two forms, they are formal ad informal. The result is there are three patterns in English and four patterns in Pasan language on Greetings. The patterns of English and Pasan Leave Taking are the same as their Greetings.  Keywords: Greetings and Leave-Takings, English and Pasan Language,        Contrastive Analysis

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research entitled “Presuppostion In The Film “Beauty And The Beast” By Stephen Chbosky and Evan Spilotopoulos  (Pragmatics Analysis). This research is  an attempt identify and analyze the types and meanings of presupposition in the film ‘Beauty and the Beast’. In this research, the writer used descriptive method which analyze based on the theory of George Yule about the types of presupposition and the meanings of presupposition in the film beauty and the beast. In this research, the writer used the types and the meaning of presupposition based on George Yule theory. According to Yule 1996, there are six types of presupposition, they are : Existential presupposition, Factive presupposition, Lexical presupposition, Structural presupposition, Non- factive presupposition, and Counterfactive presupposition. The lexical presuppotion is to much found in this research. ___________________Keywords : Pragmatics, Presupposition, Beauty and the Beast film.

Abstract

 ABSTRAKSkripsi ini membahas struktural novel Magic Hour. Unsur-unsur yang dianalisis adalah tema, plot atau alur, tokoh atau penokohan, latar, sudut pandang, dan amanat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif, melakukan penafsiran dengan menyajikan data dalam bentuk deskripsi. Teknik penelitian yang digunakan adalah pengumpulan data, analisis data, dan penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Berdasarkan analisis disimpulkan bahwa novel Magic Hour memiliki tema Pengorbanan dan cinta, alur cerita yang digunakan alur gabungan (maju dan mundur),  memiliki dua tokoh utama, yaitu Raina dan Dimas, latar tempat yang digunakan, yaitu panti asuhan, tokoh bunga Flora Florits, jalan, rumah sakit, restoran MA PETIT, Coffee Shop, rumah mewah atau rumahnya Dimas, taman, dermaga, pasar malam, dan kawah ijen. Latar waktu yang digunakan, yaitu pagi, siang, dan malam, sudut pandang yang digunakan adalah sudut pandang orang ketiga, dan memiliki pesan atau amanat mengenai kehidupan. Semua unsur yang terdapat dalam novel Magic Hour saling berkaitan dan berhubungan Kata Kunci      : Struktural, unsur intrinsik, metode kualitatif, novel Magic Hour.

Abstract

ABSTRACT            This research entitled ?Morphophonemic Process in English and Tontemboan Language: A Contrastive Analysis?. This research aims at identifying, analyzing and describing the morphophonemic processes in English and Tontemboan language and finding out the similarities and the differences of the morphophonemic processes by using of Crystal?s (2008) and Nida?s (1949) theories. The method used in this research is descriptive research method. Data were collected from several references some books, journals, and through the interview of some informants. The results of this research show that morphophonemic process in English and Tontemboan language has some similarities and differences. The similarities are both languages have kinds of morphophonemic processes, they are assimilation, loss of consonant phonemes, loss of vowel phonemes, palatalization, and nasalization. The differences are on the dissimilation and reduction of cluster. Other similarities and differences are found in assimilation. English has eight kinds of assimilations, those are progressive, regressive, contiguous phonemes, noncontiguous phonemes, point of articulation, manner of articulation, partial assimilation and complete assimilation whereas Tontemboan language has only seven kinds of assimilations, those are progressive, regressive, contiguous phonemes, point of articulation, manner of articulation, partial assimilation, complete assimilation and doesn?t have noncontiguous phonemes. This research is expected to give beneficial contribution both in theory and practice. Theoretically, it can give contribution to the development of linguistics (morphology), especially about morphophonemic process, and practically, the writer gets the knowledge that the encounter between morphemes. Keyword:  Morphophonemic Process, English and Tontemboan Language, Contrastive Analysis

Abstract

ABSTRACTConvivial act as a part of Illocutionary is not only found in our daily life, but also in literary studies such as novel, drama, short stories, novella and film. This study is an attempt to identify, classify  and analyze the aspect of convivial act in the film Hunger Games : Mockingjay directed by Francis Lawrence. The method used in the research is descriptive method. The data are identified and analyzed descriptively. In collecting data, the writer reads some pragmatic books pertaining to convivial act. After that, the writer watches the film and looks the whole story of the film to obtain good understanding of the context of the story inthe film.Then the writer identified and classified the data into relevant aspects of convivial act. The collected data were analyzed descriptively in terms of how the aspect of convivial are found in the film Hunger Games : Mockingjay based on Leech’s and Austin theory. The research show that the convivial act can be categorized into five categories, those are offering, inviting, greeting, congratulating, and thanking, and how the aspect of convivial act used by the characters. It is expected that this study will help students and readers In learning pragmatics especially on convivial aspects found in the film.__________________­___________________Keywords : Convivial Act, Film : Hunger Games : Mockingjay, Pragmatic Analysis
