Abstract

Students' confidence in their ability to study material and work on physics questions needs to be a concern during the covid-19 pandemic. This belief is called self-efficacy. This self-efficacy can be increased by using teaching materials that are designed by educators according to the characteristics of the students they teach. Concept-based modules are used in basic physics lectures on Particle Dynamics. This study aims to describe the increase in student self-efficacy before and after using the module. In addition, this study also wanted to see whether there was a significant difference in student self-efficacy between before and after using the module. This research method uses a pre-experimental method with one group pretest posttest design. The sample used in the research is odd semester students for the 2021/2022 academic year. The results showed the <N-Gain> value of 0.45 which indicated that there was an increase in student self-efficacy after using the concept-based module in the moderate category. The difference in student self-efficacy between before and after using the concept-based module was also significant by referring to the sig value. (2-tailed) 0.000 < 0.05.

Abstract

Research has been carried out on the design of a mini power bank using dragon paste as a source of electrical energy. The voltage and current produced by this dragon paste and power bank are measured using a digital multimeter. Dragon paste used in series and parallel. The voltage generated by the dragon paste is connected to a DC step up. The use of step up dc aims to increase the dragon paste voltage, so that the resulting voltage can reach a maximum of 5.16 V and can charge lithium-ion batteries that have been arranged in parallel using the power bank kit module.

Abstract

Based on the results of observations and interviews at SMAN 5 Palangka Raya, physics learning is still not structured optimally to achieve students' critical thinking skills. As a result, research was undertaken employing POE-based e-modules to aid students in achieving learning competencies by utilizing their critical thinking skills. The goal of this study is to see how successful POE-based e-modules are at improving critical thinking skills. A quantitative approach using a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design was applied. A test in the form of a description question served as the data gathering strategy. The findings revealed that this POE-based e-module was beneficial to students' critical thinking abilities. The e-effectiveness module's was determined using an effect size of 3.24, which falls into the very high category. This study's conclusion is this POE-based e-module improves students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Physics is a branch of scientific knowledge that requires understanding other disciplines, such as mathematical concepts. As for the development of increasingly advanced technology, it affects the world of education such as the implementation of CBT (Computer Based Test). Based on this, of course, innovation is needed to solve physics problems in a short and easy time. One example of material taught in physics that can be done in an easier way is material on special relativity. The solution to the problem of Einstein's special relativity, especially the comparison of relativistic energy, can use a right triangle by fulfilling the Pythagorean equation. This study describes the analysis of the right triangle theorem with the relativistic energy comparison equation.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of interest in learning physics and the unavailability of interesting learning materials that are suitable for student characteristics and can support the creation of innovative learning. This study aims to produce a new product in the form of a valid PBI-oriented physics learning module. This type of research is development research using a 4D mosel (four-D Model),the research procedure used is 4-D, namely definition, design, development, dissemination due to time and cost limitations. then this step is not implemented. The research instrument used was the initial analysis sheet, the validity sheet. From the results of the research conducted,it was found that the problem based instruction-oriented learning module was categorized as very valid with an average overall score of 82.24%. This research resulted in a problem based instruction (PBI) oriented physics learning module on light materials and optical instruments for class VIII which was very valid.

Abstract

Scientific argumentation ability is one of the important things to support students in learning to think critically, act, and communicate supported by data or evidence. Scientific argumentation skills include 4C skills, namely communication. Among the indicators of scientific argumentation are claims, data, warrants, backing, rebuttal and qualifiers. The purpose of this study was to determine the scientific argumentation skills profile of students at MAS Manba'ul Huda Bandung. The research method used is descriptive with a qualitative approach. The subjects of this study were 22 people from class X1 (11) MIPA. To find out the level of scientific argumentation skills, students are given 2 physics questions related to argumentation-based optics and fluids. The results found that students' scientific argumentation skills were still relatively low. This is shown from the level of students' scientific argumentation skills, most of which are in the good to weak category, namely 27% very weak, 14% weak, 18% sufficient, and 34% good. Keywords : Teaching Materials, Physics, Argumentation Skills

Abstract

This article explains The Influence of Problem Based Learning Learning Models on Students' Scientific Literacy Ability on the Theme of Environmental Pollution". The research method used is a Quasi-Experimental Design with a non-equivalent control group design. Respondents in the study included 1 teacher and 22 students. The results of the pretest and posttest were used to collect data on students' scientific literacy abilities, which were then analyzed with the help of the SPSS 28 for Windows version program. The control class and the experimental class were found to be normally distributed and homogeneous after being tested using the normality and homogeneity tests. The independent t test was used in testing the hypothesis in this study. The results of the research show value a significance of 0.001 <0.05 indicates that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. It can be seen that the experimental class that applied the PBL model and the control class that used Discovery Learning had statistically significant different values. Based on data analysis, the PBL model influences students' scientific literacy skills on the theme of environmental pollution. Therefore, the authors suggest that teachers use the PBL model in teaching in class. Keywords : Problem Based Learning, Scientific Literacy , Environmental Pollution.

Abstract

The use of teaching materials in the learning process really helps the realization of an active, effective and efficient learning, as well as the discovery of concepts independently by students. One of the efforts to realize this as well as the aim of this research is to develop teaching materials in the form of physics learning worksheet oriented to the Student Facilitator and Explaining learning model which is valid for class XI students in the Science program at SMA Negeri 6 Padang. The type of research used is Research and Development (R&D). The research procedure was a 4-D model namely define, design, develop, and disseminate, but this stage was not carried out due to time constraints. The research instrument used was a validity questionnaire. Furthermore, the data obtained was analyzed to see the validity of the worksheet. The results showed that the Student Facilitator and Explaining oriented worksheet developed was categorized as valid with a percentage of 80.2%. The validity of the worksheet is illustrated by the results of validation by experts on the four aspects of the assessment, namely the appropriateness of the content, language and images, presentation, and graphics.Keyword : Worksheet, Student Facilitator and Explaining, Valid.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine whether the use of the guided inquiry learning model with the Phet virtual experiment method had more effect on the critical thinking skills of students at SMA N 1 Kalasan compared to conventional learning models. This type of research is a quasi-experimental using an experimental class that uses a guided inquiry learning model and a control class that uses a conventional learning model. Data was collected by conducting pretest and posttest on students' critical thinking skills in both classes. Data analysis was performed using MANOVA analysis. The results showed that the use of the guided inquiry learning model with the Phet virtual experiment method had more effect on students' critical thinking skills than the use of conventional learning models.
