Abstract

ABSTRACTEducation is a means of gaining knowledge to improve the quality of human resources in global competition. Therefore, improving the quality of education is needed through schools as formal institutions. As a formal institution, the school can provide provisions for students to achieve success in the learning process which is reflected in academic achievement, one of them is in biology learning. This study aimed to determine the correlation between intrapersonal intelligence (X) with student academic achievement in biology (Y). Research conducted at SMA Negeri 4 Bekasi Utara in April 2019. The method used is correlational. Data were analyzed with bivariate correlation coefficient significance test. The results showed that there was a significant positive correlation (r= 0,260) between Xwith Y through linear regression equation Ŷ = 71,407 + 0,084X. Keywords: biology learning, intrapersonal intelligence, student academic achievement.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research aimed to develop a digital student’s work sheets used Android based on mangrove forest of Tunda Island gastropod diversity for invertebrate sub concept and to assessed the student’s work sheets based on  material, media, and student response aspects. This research was a developments research (R&D) with 3-D (Define, Design, and Develop) design and supported by exploration of gastropod diversity in mangrove forest of Tunda Island at June 2017. The instruments in this research were interview and expert assessment sheets. The data from assesment sheets was analized from qualitative to be quantitative. The data from assessment sheets was used to improve the student’s worksheets contents and structures. The result of this research showed 20 species gastropods identified at mangrove forest of Tunda Island including 2 subclass, Pulmonata and Prosobranchia. The gastropod diversity index on Tunda Island was 1,2024, classified in the medium category. The result of exploration of gastropod diversity in Tunda Island also used as material content in student’s work sheets development. Based on experts assessment and student response, the average value of the student’s work sheet were 89% and 87,1% with category very good and feasible to use as a teaching learning materials for 10th grade of  senior high school. Keywords: Android, Gastropods, Student’s Work Sheets, Tunda Island

Abstract

Research was conducted to obtain information about the scope of aspects of context in the curriculum biology 2013 used by students class X serang city in the chapter on environmental pollution and waste recycling.Aspects of context that consist of the scope of context (personal, local and global) and discussion of the field of science regarding health and disease, natural resources, environmental quality, hazards and limits of science and technology. This research is a descriptive study that uses document analysis methods to describe the emergence of context aspects in the material component of the environmental assessment chapter contained in the analyzed textbook. Assessment of analysis uses instruments that have been adjusted to the content of scientific literacy in the PISA 2015 draft. Analysis of the research data uses descriptive statistics by calculating the number of analysis components that are in accordance with indicators of aspects of the context. The results of the analysis show, the two textbooks have applied content aspects of context with an unbalanced percentage. The scope of the dominating context is global space of 71.6%, and context of the discussion about hazards is 41.7%. Whereas the aspect of  context that is very few emerges is in the local / national context space of 4.6% and in the context of the field of discussion in the field of science which has a slight appearance of natural resources of 4.7%.Keywords : aspects of context, biology textbook curriculum 2013, environmental pollution

Abstract

ABSTRACTTeacher problems are increasingly complex entering the industrial era 4.0, where teachers must have competence in facing technological developments. This study aims to determine the characteristics and competencies of biology teachers in the delivery of material to students in the classroom and outside the classroom in the current era of industrial revolution. The method used in this study is a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The population in this study were all biology teachers in SMA 1 Bajo South Sulawesi in the 2018/2019 school year. The sample in this study were teachers who taught biology subjects in SMA 1 Bajo, totaling 6 teachers. Data collection techniques use observation sheets directly into the classroom or outside the classroom, teacher competency questionnaires that must be filled in by the teacher. Based on the results of the study indicate that, the characteristic profile and competency of biology teachers in SMA 1 Bajo can be said to meet the standards in the assessment of a biology teacher. But in this study examines efforts in increasing biology teacher competence towards the era of industrial revolution 4.0. in an effort to improve the competence of biology teachers by improving the system of teacher recruitment, the pattern of increasing teacher competency that is bottom up, empowering groups of teacher activities and discussion of biology subject teachers to create a collaboration that is oriented to the development of a teacher and optimization of sustainable professional improvement programs and lesson study with e-literacy support. The achievement of the competence of biology teachers in 1 Bajo Public High School is 70% pedagogical competence, 80% achievement personality competency, 90% achievement of social competence, and 75% professional competence achievement.  Keywords: characteristics, competence, biology teacher, industrial revolution 4.0.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe purpose of this reasearch are knowing effect of Self directed learning, PJBL model and Guided Inquiry to science literacy abilities. This study was conducted at SMA Taruna Andigha and SMA Bina Insani in April-May 2018. Design of this research is post-test only experiment and control group design. The method that used on this research was quasi experiment. Experiment class was treated by PJBL model, while control class was treated by Guided Inquiry model. This instruments consist questionnaire of self directed learning and science literacyabilities test. The instruments have been valid and reliable. Analysis data used by Anova 2 waysdesign (2x2 factorial). The result show that: 1) The ability of science literacyof student who are given PJBL model higher than the students who given Guided inquiry models. (2) There is an enhancement of science literacyof students effected by self directed learning and learning models. (3) The ability of science literacyof students with high self directed learning who given treatment PJBL model is higher than the students who are given Guided inquiry model. (4) There is no significant difference the abiility of science literacybetween students low self directed learning who given treatment by PJBL model and students who are given treatment by Guided inquiry model. Keywords: Guided Inquiry model, PJBL model, Self directed learning, The abilityof science literacy

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe low reading interest, motivation, and student learning readiness in school are some of the factors that cause the process of learning to be hampered and the difficulty of these students in mastering the material, especially the structure and function of plants. This is intended by 78% of class VIII J students who have not achieved the minimum completeness criteria. The purpose of this Classroom Action Research (CAR) is to increase student learning outcomes in the material structure and function of plants through cooperative learning, everyone is a teacher here and the use of media images. In this study PTK was conducted in 2 cycles and the instruments used were multiple choice tests and student questionnaires. The results of the study showed that cooperative learning for everyone is a teacher here and the media image can improve students' cognitive learning outcomes by 12.37%. The results of the learning questionnaire showed satisfactory results because some students gave a positive response to the application of learning with everyone is a teacher here and media images. Keywords: Learning Outcomes, everyone is a teacher here, picture media, structure and function of plant tissue, and Classroom Action Research
