Abstract

This study aims to determine the productivity of skipjack fish in the waters of Ternate Island. Optimum efforts that produce maximum catch and still maintain stock biomass in equilibrium conditions. Fishing activities are activities carried out to get several catches, to meet demand as a source of food. The demand causes an economic cycle where profits and losses will occur so that fishing activities will be carried out by increasing fish production to achieve maximum profits by fishing businesses. Production and effort data obtained from the Ternate Archipelago Fisheries Port (PPN) and related agencies in the past 5 years (2012-2016) experienced fluctuations. Catches per unit of capture effort (CPUE), reflecting the comparison between the catch and the effort spent. The catch in principle is the output of the fishing activity, while the effort that is needed in principle is input from the fishing activity. CPUE calculations must be standardized for fishing gear first because based on production data there is more than one fishing gear commonly used to catch skipjack fish. It can be seen that in 2013 and 2014 the level of utilization of skipjack fish resources was in the optimal utilization category because the range of skipjack fish production was between 74% to 82%, whereas in 2012 and 2016 the use of skipjack fish in a year was 65% smaller so it was categorized underexploited and in 2015 the level of utilization of skipjack fish resources has experienced overfishing because it has passed the maximum limit that has been set which is 4,252,461.31 tons/year.

Abstract

Siganus sp is one of the leading commodities that have high economic value. Until now, the market demand for Siganus sp continues to increase so that the prospect of its cultivation is very promising. The problem that arises specifically for fishermen in the coastal sub-district of Maros Regency is that there is no data and knowledge about suitable locations for the cultivation of Siganus sp. This study aims to determine the area that is suitable for cultivation of Siganus sp in the coastal district of Maros Regency. Data collection techniques were carried out by literature studies and direct field observations by taking coordinates and measuring oceanographic parameters (temperature, salinity, pH, brightness, dissolved oxygen, depth, current velocity). Water quality data were analyzed by weighting, overlaying and layout using GIS analysis. This research was conducted in the waters of the coastal sub-district of Maros Regency in January-August 2021. The results showed that the location of the suitability of Siganus sp aquaculture waters in the coastal sub-district of Maros Regency obtained suitable waters (S) for the development of Siganus sp cultivation covering an area of 630.36 ha and waters that are not suitable (N) for the development of cultivation Siganus sp covering an area of 681.2 ha.

Abstract

At the first time, plastic materials were produced to facilitate various activities of human life. Plastic materials that are flexible and durable have been used by humans to meet various needs to support their daily activities. Starting from human activities from waking up to going back to sleep, nowadays it cannot be separated from the use of plastic materials. This then makes humans "addicted" to plastic materials. It is as if human life cannot be separated from the use of plastic materials. Various research results in the field of pollution both on land and the sea, plastic materials that are not managed properly can contaminate human life, either directly or indirectly, to food sources, especially food from the sea.
