Abstract

Cancer patients in Indonesia experience mild to severe depression around 34.4% which can affect their quality of life. The study aimed to determine the distribution of depression in cervical cancer patients, the level of depression that predominated in cervical cancer patients, and the relationship between the level of depression in cervical cancer and the influencing factors in cervical cancer patients RSUD Dr. Soetomo. The research design used descriptive-analytic with a research population of 2845 people. The research sample was determined using a descriptive formula and was taken in September 2021 from outpatients at the Poli Onkologi Satu Atap (POSA), who was diagnosed with cervical cancer were 45 people by distributing questionnaires containing BDI-II and Holmes and Rahe Scale instruments. The sampling technique used non-probability sampling with the purposive sampling technique. Analytical descriptive data analysis using Chi-square test. The results showed that the majority had mild depression as many 21 respondents (46.7%), followed by minimal depression as many 19 respondents (42.2%), moderate depression as many three respondents (6.7%), and severe depression as many two respondents (4.4%). The relationship between the level of depression with influencing factors was found to be significant in the number of marriages. The second marriage does not always show better results than the first marriage, the fear of repeated marriage failures and the emergence of conflicts in the future can potentially lead to depression. Women with second marriages have higher rates of depression. In the relationship between depression and other factors, namely age, last education, marital status, monthly income, cervical cancer stage, family history of cervical cancer, and duration of diagnosis, did not have a significant relationship.

Abstract

The low effectivity of occupational health and safety (OHS) application by occupational health nurses initiated a high number of work accidents, particularly in Indonesian industrial sectors. This non-optimization was generated due to insufficient guidelines to analyze the OHS among the workers. The utilization of industrial nursing care needs a protocol in order to control work accidents, one of which is using the Loss Causation Model approach. This study was aimed to explore the role of occupational health nurses in reducing the number of industrial working accidents using Loss Causation Model’s accident stages. This research was a phenomenology study with qualitative design involving 13 nurses in the industrial area of Surabaya, Indonesia. The data collection process was gained through in-depth interviews and field observation. Data analysis used Van Manen’s 6 methods and software NVIVO. These study results indicated that nurses prioritized work accident prevention, the risk of work accident identification, and maintaining occupational health and safety among workers according to the working accident stages of Loss Causation Model. In addition, nurses played a role in assessing and discovering the accident information chronologically from the health point of view. Furthermore, nurses could also suggest recommendations to policymakers in improving the workers’ welfare to diminish physical and material losses due to work accidents. It can be concluded that nurses have an important role in working accident controls, especially promotive and preventive actions, also influencing toward policy making related to OHS in the industry.

Abstract

Covid 19 is a virus that can change global conditions in order to stay at home. Education and learning policies are also carried out at home, so-called home study. It is stressful for students, teachers and parents. The stress faced by students in online learning not only leaves them vulnerable to stress, but also diminishes their motivation to learn. The objective of this study was to determine the students' level of stress and motivation for online learning and to analyse the relationship between them. The method used as a cross-sectional with the last grade students of elementary school as population which is located in South Banyuwangi, the sample was taken by purposive sampling technique and it was obtained 55 students as respondents. Collection of data used in the ESSA questionnaire for stress level and questionnaire on motivation to learn. The statistical test used in this study was Spearman's Rank, which was analysed using an apparatus with ρ 0.05. The results revealed that 80% of students had no stress and 83.6% had very strong motivation to learn. Statistical analysis of rank-spearman obtained ρ value = 0.011 with ρ value of <0.05, there was a significant correlation between stress levels and learning motivation in online learning with a close correlation score was 0,341 which was categorized as low correlation closeness. Positive parenting support and support is one factor that can reduce stress and increase student motivation to learn.

Abstract

Examination of D-dimer and platelets in COVID-19 patients is very important, especially to assess the severity of the disease and the risk of not surviving in these patients. The D-dimer value is used to assess the occurrence of the coagulation process in COVID-19 patients, while the platelet count is calculated to see the risk of thrombocytopenia. This study aims to analyze the relationship between D-dimer levels and platelet levels in COVID-19 patients. The D-dimer sample was analyzed using the Cobas Analyzer series, and the platelet sample was analyzed using the sysmex KX-21 hematolyzer. This research is analytic retrospective with cross sectional approach. The data source comes from the results of the examination of COVID-19 patients at the hospital Siloam Lippo Village. The research sample obtained as many as 94 samples taken by purposive sampling technique. The test results using the Spearman's rho correlation test with a= 0.05 showed no significant relationship between D-dimer levels and platelet count (r = -0.72, P = 0.488). Elevated D-dimer levels are not directly proportional to the condition of thrombocytopenia which is an indication of severity in COVID-19 patients. Further research is suggested to be able to analyze the parameters of other examination results in COVID-19 patients that lead to the condition of patients who do not survive such as inflammatory marker parameters. Abstract

Menstrual cycle disorders are often become a problem for couples of childbearing age who use contraceptives, especially hormonal contraceptives namely injectable contraceptives. The problem itself can be in the form of a long cycle or more than 35 days (oligomenorrhea), a short menstrual cycle of less than 21 days (polymenorrhea) and a menstrual absence in 3 months in a row (amenorrhea). This study aims to determine the relationship between the use of contraceptives and menstrual cycle disorders in couples of childbearing age at Puskesmas Piyungan Sub-district, Bantul Yogyakarta in the year of 2021. This study is quantitative analytical study with Cross Sectional approach which was conducted retrospectively. The sampling technique used was Proportional Random Sampling with the total sample of 96 respondents. The analysis used were univariate and bivariate analysis. The results showed that from 58 respondents who used hormonal contraception, 44 respondents (75,9%) experienced abnormal menstrual cycle. Meanwhile, 38 respondents who used non-hormonal contraception at least experienced an abnormal menstrual cycle as many as 6 respondents (15,8%). The Chi-Square test showed that there was a significant relationship between the use of contraceptives and menstrual cycle disorders in couples of childbearing age, namely p = 0,000 < α = 0,05 with OR value of 16,762. There is a significant relationship between the use of contraceptives and menstrual cycle disorders at Puskesmas Piyungan Sub-district, Bantul Yogyakarta.
