Abstract

Nowadays, Learning Management System (LMS) is widely used to support the learning process. LMS becomes a medium of interaction between students and teachers. Poor usability and user experience (UX) of an LMS can make students spend more time learning the system than learning the educational content. Therefore, usability and user experience evaluation are important for e-learning. Edmodo and Google Classroom are two widely used LMS. This study involved students as inspectors to compare the user experience of Edmodo versus Google Classroom using Technique for User Experience Evaluation in E-learning (TUXEL). Inspectors divided into two groups: one group inspected Edmodo and another group inspected Google Classroom. After completing the inspection, the inspectors were asked to fill three questionnaires: usability inspection, general LMS / pedagogical usability inspection, and user experience. The data then processed and analyzed per category per dimension. The results of the overall general usability and pedagogical usability inspections show fewer problematic aspects in Edmodo (22 items) than Google Classroom (30 items). However, Google Classroom seems to be preferred by students because it is simpler, practical and, more comfortable. Edmodo is recommended for distance learning since it has more features. While Google Classroom is more suitable to be used as a support or complement for a learning course.

Abstract

Disasters are a series of events that threaten, disrupt people's lives and livelihoods which are caused by natural, non-natural and human factors, resulting in casualties, environmental damage, losses and psychological impacts. Natural disasters have prompted Twitter social media users to upload information about the conditions of areas affected by natural disasters in pictures or only text of the disaster site. At that time, the researcher proposed to analyze the behavior of Twitter social media users towards education levels in Indonesia and the United States. This research provides an overview of the facts about the content shared on Twitter social media, and provides a solution for the extraction of geospatial content on Twitter social media. From the processing of data from Twitter social media, it can be seen that there is no difference in the relationship between Twitter social media users and education levels in Indonesia and the United States and more geospatial information content in the United States than in Indonesia.

Abstract

Agriculture is an art and science used to cultivate the land, grow crops, and raise livestock. Agricultural land in Indonesia has different soil quality in each region. Soil quality for agriculture can have an impact on crops. Therefore, a Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) was created to make it easier to determine soil moisture. This system can help to monitor the condition of soil moisture content. WSN applies a Cluster-Based Algorithm, and the protocol used in WSN is a Low Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy (LEACH). WSN will search for the cluster head, and then the sensor node will send the results of soil moisture sensing data to the cluster head for further data aggregation. Then, the results of the aggregation data will be sent to the sink node and then forwarded to the cloud. Data aggregation can make the sink stay longer than 30 minutes than the sink node that receives data without aggregation. Sink nodes that do not receive aggregation data also use more load current than sinks that receive aggregation data. The test results of the average response time to find new cluster heads have an average time of 6023.4 milliseconds. The maximum distance between nodes to transmit data to each other is 100 meters.

Abstract

Fibrillation is one of the abnormalities in the heart where it beats irregularly, which can cause sudden death. Fortunately, these abnormalities can be detected using an electrocardiogram (ECG) fibrillation detector. An ECG can be detected as biopotential body signal that arises as a result of electrical activity of the heart muscle represented by the electrical signals consisting of P, Q, R, S and T waves that carry information about someone’s heart condition through graph pattern. However, a test in humans with the potential for fibrillation is needed to determine whether the fibrillation detector works correctly. Testing this way is ineffective because we cannot predict when and where a person will experience fibrillation. On the other hand, a site called PhysioNet provides various medical records from patients, including ECG signals of normal heartbeats, atrial fibrillations, and ventricular fibrillations. Because of the ineffectiveness of testing a fibrillation detector directly on a living person, this study focused on research to develop an ECG signal generator using microcontroller Arduino Due for reconstructing the heart signal in normal and fibrillated heart conditions collected from the PhysioNet database. The research focused on obtaining an R-peak value and RR interval time that resembled a heart ECG wave. This study compared the reconstructed signal with references from PhysioNet and measured the peak level of R and R-R interval time using an oscilloscope to calculate the accuracy of the ECG signal generator. The generated ECG signal during Atrial Fibrillation and Normal Sinus Rhythm has an overall accuracy of 88.65% for the R-peak level and 97.24% for the RR-Interval time. While Ventricular Fibrillation has been reproduced by achieving amplitude errors of less than 5.63% and 10.22% during first and second samples, respectively.

Abstract

COVID-19 was designated as a global pandemic by WHO and Government Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia Number 21 of 2020 concerning Large-Scale Social Restrictions for the handling of Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). Eating healthy foods with balanced nutrition can increase the body's immunity during a COVID-19 pandemic. Since many foods that sold freely are not guaranteed in nutritional ingredients, cooking becomes a better alternative. system is a mobile application that provides a recommendation of healthy food recipe by using the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) algorithm, which has been studied in the previous research of recipe recommendation and gives significant result. Previous research has not examined the appropriate variables and the data are still general food. We conducted a user study to measure the usability of the proposed system. The result of usability testing shows that there is a significant increase in SUS score from 63.5 to 87.

Abstract

Sentiment analysis is a technique of extracting the text data to analyze the opinions and evaluate to obtain the information. Sentiment analysis is performed by internet users on social media or online applications or websites to provide assessments or personal opinions. Tourism in North Sulawesi has grown by 600% in the past four years, and the rise of tourism has sent tourists flocking to the city of Manado. These travelers need a hotel that satisfies their desires, so they need to read about the hotel in the reviews on the hotel reservation service website. This takes a lot of time. To overcome existing problems, sentiment analysis applications were developed to make it easier for potential hotel users to find previous user responses. Additionally, data mining classification techniques are used to help hotel managers determine the satisfaction of previous hotel users using a Naive Bayes algorithm. The five tests performed gave the best result, 76.20% accuracy, with an average of 70.55%. While the average precision is 70.57% and 99.85% for the recall.

Abstract

Augmented Reality (AR) technology is one of the educational applications that may be created. AR is a learning tool that may be used to integrate virtual things or objects into a natural environment to engage in real-time. English is a foreign language that must be learnt. For language assistance, pupils must acquire a sufficient command of vocabulary via reading and listening exercises. Two factors contribute to the ineffectiveness of oral communication: pupils who do not have enough vocabulary knowledge and students who do not know how to employ vocabulary non their spoken language. One of the learning media that has been developed is the AR-based English vocabulary learning application which was developed in early April 2020 to September 2020. This application aims to help elementary school students (6-12 years) in learning English vocabulary. Where in the current learning which is due to the pandemic thus making distance learning. The purpose of this study is to measure the usability of the application whose vocabulary has been developed from three aspects, namely effectiveness, efficiency and user satisfaction (ISO 9241). The results of the research conducted show that the usability level of this application is 89% effectiveness, 94% efficiency and 91% user satisfaction. So that this learning application can be said to have good usability and can be used as a supporting medium for learning English vocabulary for children aged 6-12 years independently.
