Abstract

Coral reef ecosystems are very important for the source of life for a variety of marine biota. Coral reefs have ecological and economical benefits, so it is necessary to carry out regular monitoring so that the ecosystem is well maintained. This monitoring is carried out so that the handling of management runs properly, for this purpose coral identification activities are needed in a certain area. Identification of corals is not as easy as identifying plants, animals or other creatures that have common terminology and have been established. Corals that have similar types like the example in Genus are difficult to do. Therefore it is necessary to classify the Hard Coral Genus (Scleractinia) with the Gray Level Counseling Matrix (GLCM) method. The class used is the genus Acropora, Echinopora, Porites and Fungia. Processing is carried out using the image of the coral with this type of genus by GLCM preprocessing. The features used in the GLCM process are Contrast, Entropy, Energy, Homogenity and Correlation values. The classification used is Support Vector Machine (SVM) with the results obtained by the four Genus still difficult to identify with the results of accuracy of 25%.

Abstract

Digital Citizen Journalist (DJ) is a mobile application to write reviews owned by Times Indonesia. This application is made with intention to fulfill public needs and make it easier for them to convey their aspirations. This application needed an usability evaluation to help its users to use it. Usability component tested in this study are learnability, efficiency, memorability, error and satisfaction. This research use usability testing method, interview and system usability scale questionnaire (SUS). All of the participant in this research are DJ's new user with age range between 15-17 years old, 18-24 years old and 25-64 years old. Usability testing and interview conducted with nine participant in order to find out about its learnability, efficiency, memorability and error component and also its problems. SUS questionnaire filled by 20 participant to find out about its satisfaction component. The evaluation results shows efficiency (0,12 goals/sec and 74%), errors (0,29), increased memorability, satisfaction (74) and good learnability. This results indicates needs for further research. From interviewing participants found 40 problems with 20 different problems. From all problems found, 17 recommendations about application interface and application features are given based on suitable guidelines. These recommendations are also given with all the age categories in mind to give the optimal solution.

Abstract

Indonesia is a country that has a great diversity of cultures and natural wealth. One of Indonesia's natural wealth that is the attraction of the world is its tourist attractions. The beauty of tourist attractions in Indonesia makes Indonesia becomes a country that is often visited by foreign tourists on vacation. Tourism is one business that can increase economic growth. Tourists visit is increased sigficantly due to many factors, including competitive travel costs, promotion strategies that continue to be intensified, and many adequate travel routes. This must be balanced with adequate facilities and guaranteed security. The number of visitors that cannot be ascertained must be predictable in anticipation of sudden increases or deterioration, so that the state can determine policies towards changes in the number of visitors in the future. The method that will be used to predict in this study is the average-based fuzzy time series models and the using 216 data obtained from the official website of the Statistic Indonesia, it is data of the number of foreign tourist visits to Indonesia in the period January 1999 to December 2016. Based on the result of the study obtained MAPE value is 10,140%, that MAPE value is good to predict, because it is under 20%. So can be concluded that average-based fuzzy time series is good enough to predict the number of foreign tourists visit to Indonesia.

Abstract

Plagiarism is an inseparable thing from an academic environment. Various motivations including working part-time and social dilemmas contribute to the high percentage of plagiarism at the university level. Handling with the plagiarism detection method has many disadvantages, such as the emergence police-criminal paradigm, value-oriented mindset, and technical weakness such as inability in analyzing translated documents. Hellas, Leinonen, and Ihantola's research with the plagiarism prevention method has several shortcomings, namely ignoring the process of work so that students can be cheated by buying assignments, the analysis at the end makes students able to cheat during assignments, no any log produced so the teacher can't assess student effort, and the software is tied to a particular platform. This research aims to perfect previous research by adding a snapshotting process that records document changes, user activity logging which records student activities, and build the systems with agnostic properties so that there is freedom to choose the form of tasks and the software that will be used. The system is tested using unit testing, integration, validation, automated testing, and compatibility. Unit testing and integration are valid and exceed 70% code coverage, validation testing in 32 test cases are valid, and compatibility testing shows the system is running well on six common desktop environments. Valid automated testing that contains no errors can speed up the testing process.

Abstract

Sistem Informasi Perencanaan dan Penganggaran is an application that used to help process preparation Regional Government Work Plan in Malang City. The ability of employees in the Regional Work Unit to use computer is uneven, that consequence to the use of the Sistem Informasi Perencanaan dan Penganggaran doesn't runnning as expected. Some functionalities found often problematic make users perception of credibility towards the Sistem Informasi Perencanaan dan Penganggaran is decreased and were questioned. The research conducted using the modified Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) method with aiming to describe user acceptance of variables perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, computer self-efficacy, perceived credibility and behavioral intention. The type of this research is a quantitative research with data collection techniques is using questionnaires with a population is all users of Sistem Informasi Perencanaan dan Penganggaran. The sampling technique used is a total sampling technique with data analysis process using statistic descriptive technique. The result showed that variables perceived usefulness and behavioral intention is belong to the very high category, variables perceived ease of use and perceived credibility belong to the high category, and variabel of computer self-efficacy belong to the medium category. Recommendation given to each indicators that has a value below the average.

Abstract

Cayenne is a commodity for food that cannot be separated from the daily needs of people in Indonesia. Cayenne for the people in Malang City is consumed to maintain metabolism and body temperature to keep warm and vitamin C which can help maintain the health of the human body. Prices of cayenne in Malang City always fluctuate changes every day. Fluctuation changes that make the price of cayenne are difficult to predict well. In addition, the prices given by traders are always varied, cayenne pepper is also one of the contributing commodities of inflation and prevents the difference in prices obtained by consumers and farmers so that they are not harmed by each other. Therefore, it is necessary to predict the price of cayenne in Malang so that consumers and the government can take preventive measures against the existing problems. The prediction process is divided into several process including pre-processing, normalization of data, predictions using the Extreme Learning Machine algorithm, and the results of errors with MAPE. Based on the results of testing using cayenne price data from January 1, 2017 to December 31, 2018 in Malang City, the smallest MAPE value was 2.087% with 2 features, the number of neurons in the hidden layer was 5, the percentage of training data and testing data 90%:10%, and the activation function is Binary Sigmoid.

Abstract

IoT architecture can be described with 4 parts, namely sensing, networks, middleware, and application. Generally part of the sensing and middleware are on the intranet, while the application was on the internet as a cloud-based. The condition of the Internet gateway device (IGD) acts as a part of the network architecture that is connecting the IoT middleware in the intranet and internet application in the cloud. IGD function takes the data from the middleware then forwarded to the application cloud. In this research, IGD based network of NB-IoT provide internet connectivity with smaller delay than previous research that uses IGD based network of GPRS. Two test scenarios conducted to measure the delay and throughput data delivery from IGD towards cloud application. In the first scenario, the received sensor data from middleware directly mailed toward the cloud, while the second scenario, the received sensor data from middleware collected and stored first in the JSON file during a span of certain then JSON file is sent towards the cloud. The first scenario test results showed that the mean average delay of 10 seconds and average throughput of 26000bps. Comparison of the test results between second scenario on this research and previous research looks significantly while sending data 2.5Mb data. In previous research, the delay resulted of the delivery 2574984 bytes data of 2818 seconds, while in this research were able to send 2648000 bytes with delay amounted to 22 seconds and average throughput of 97672.742bps.

Abstract

Aplikasi Jurnalisme Positif (AJP) is an android mobile application that are used by journalist and general public from age 15 to over 50 years old to write news. As the owner of AJP, Times Indonesia aiming to give people a way to contribute in journalism according to fact in order to decrease the number of negative news through this application. However, there are some difficulty issued by people over age 50, or so called elderly, when they interact with this applications interface. The problems are those users are not able to complete task on some basic feature in this application, they tend to need longer times to finish it and they are not familiar with it. As a result, improvement of the interface to create better design for elderly are needed to increase AJP's usability. In this study, problems related with usability are solved with Human Centered Design (HCD) method. This research evaluates AJP by testing it's effectiveness, efficiency, satisfaction and learnability. The results of the evaluations founds 8 problems and 10 design solution. In addition after applying HCD method and familiarity aspect dimension symbolic and actionable in those design, effectiveness aspect increased from 77% which is below standard to 100%, efficiency aspect from 69,87% successful effective user to 100% and satisfaction aspect increased from 76,75% user satisfied to 91,8% user very satisfied. Learnability aspect are increased along with usability improvements.

Abstract

Determining lecturers' burden of teaching is a routine activity in all universities, especially for department administrator in each faculty. This matter done as the number of classes taken by students in each semester is always different, yet the number of lecturers are relatively fixed. Determining lecturers' burden of teaching must be done so that the lecturer does not exceed the maximum limit and the teaching process will not deviate from lecturer's interest. The Informatics Engineering program of the Faculty of Computer Science, Brawijaya University Malang is still carrying out the process of determining lecturers' burden of teaching manually, so that it requires a lot of time because it has to adjust between the interest of the subject with lecturer's interest. One optimization method that can be used to overcome this problem is a genetic algorithm. The genetic algorithm process in this study uses integer number representation, crossover method with one cut point crossover, mutation method with reciprocal exchange mutation and random mutation, and selection method with elitism selection. Based on the tests performed, optimal parameters were obtained, the number of population was 70, the combination of cr and mr respectively 0.5, and the number of generations was 4000 with the highest fitness value produced was 0.090909.

Abstract

Every year the population of DKI Jakarta Province always increases. It requires the government to improve the quality of public transportation. Train is one of public transportation in DKI Jakarta. Train is a transportation that is used as an alternative mode of transportation when going to travel far to avoid congestion in the city. Therefore, it needs to plan the train capacity for custumer satisfaction. The excessive or less passengers will have an impact on the performance of PT KAI, resulting in the need forecasting the number of passengers departure for trains which the result can be used by the local government and PT KAI to improve services. This research uses and compares the accuracy of Double Exponential Smoothing and Triple Exponential Smoothing. This research uses 156 records of number of passengers, from Januari 2005 to December 2017 obtained from the data published by Statistic Indonesia. From the study testing, the smallest MAPE is found in Triple Exponential Smoothing, it is 3,213% with the most optimal parameters are =0,4, =0,4 and =0,1. The MAPE value is under 10%, it means the method can predict very well.
