Abstract

ABSTRACT Outdoor spaces are important to sustainable cities because they accommodate outdoor activities and contribute greatly to the quality of urban living.During the last decade, interest in the assessment of thermal comfort has increased because of climate changes and increased heat stress in cities. Greenspaces that provide a pleasurable thermal comfort experience for users effectively improve their quality of livability and productivity. However, current investigations lack a general framework for the use of thermal comfort assessment, such as in making master plan or designing better greenspace. This paper discusses greenspace of Sam Ratulangi University Campus relating to thermal comfort. It provides knowledge of thermal comfort investigation and landscape design review. The results of thermal comfort assessment, among 11 observed plots, only greenspace at FMIPA is categorized as comfortablespot. Greenspaces at FAPET and FEB are not really comfortable, those at BNI and FKM A and FKM B are not comfortable and those at FATEK, FAPERTA, FISIP, FH, FKM A are categorized as very uncomfortable spots. We suggest some options for redesigningof uncomfortable and very uncomfortable greenspace spots. Keywords: greenspace, outdoor, termal comfort

Abstract

ABSTRACT The aim of this research is to know the attack and damage of clove stem borer Hexamitodera semivelutina at some elevation in Rerer village of Kombi sub-district of Minahasa Regencyfor 2 months (February - April 2017). The research was conducted by survey  on farmers’ clove plantation area. The research was using a stratified random sampling method with observing the incidence and severity of H. semivelutina pest of clove plant. Treadment using 3 stratum height of place from sea level  that is 0 - <300 meters from sea level (mfsl), 300 - <600 (mfsl), and >600 (mfsl). The result of this research are the symptom of attack and damage of clove plant caused by H. Semivelutina pest as follows : incidence rate and severity according to altitude of place 0 - <300 mfsl are 24.67% and 12.55%, while at height 300 - <600 mfsl are 42.34% and 22.88 %, and at altitude> 600 mfsl are 61.67% and 33.66%.Keywords : incidence of pest, severity of pest, Hexamitodera semivelutina

Abstract

ABSTRACT Rice Black Bug (Scotinophara coartata F) is one of the most important pests that attack rice crops and has caused major losses. The purpose of this study is to determine the Rice Black Bug preferences in some varieties of rice crops. This research was conducted in Modomang Village, East Dumoga Subdistrict of Bolaang Mongondow Regency from November 2016 - February 2017. This research used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 5 treatments, namely several varieties of rice field cultivation (Ciherang, Cigeulis, Membramo, Pertiwi and Serayu).Based on the results of this study showed that the population of S. coartata pest with the largest average in Serayu varieties of 6 tails, followed by Membramo 3.75 tail, 3.5 Pertiwi, 3.5 Cigeulis and the lowest Ciherang with an average of 3.25 tailKeywords: preferences, rice black bug pest, varieties plants rice

Abstract

ABSTRACT The objective of this research was to  know the whether thete is a difference the nature of morphological characters local bark and bark butter who grewup in the slums Bawoleu, Tagulandang subdistrict north, Districts of the Siau Tagulandang Biaro Archipelago. This research has been conducted the Village Bawoleu, Tagulandang subdistrict north, Archipelagic Districts Siau Tagulandang Biaro. Research activities implemented starting in November 2016 until Januari 2017. Research conducted using the survey method by means of sampling selected that is Village Bawoleu which is a central plant snake fruit. Samples were taken from the Village Bawoleu and have determined the yard barking plant, many samples of local plants and snake fruit butter set 20 plants were taken by purposive sample, of each plant sample was taken mother longest petiole and fifteenth child leaves. In addition to any plant samples were taken of the bunches and each taken four bunches of fruits to be observed. Based on research results from some plants morphological characters barking in the the Village Bawoleu there are similarities and some differences in morphological characters. Keywords : bark fruit, morphological characters, Tagulandang

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research aims to 1) Study the growth and yield responses of purple corn location effect of the seed source on the ear to growth and yield of, 2) Determine the right location of the seed source on the ear to get the best of growth and yield of purple corn. Research conducted at the Kebun Percobaan (KP) Pandu, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sam Ratulangi (Unsrat) Manado from April to July 2016. The plant material used is purple corn collected in the laboratory of Plant Science, Faculty of Agriculture, Unsrat. This research is using a randomized block design by four treatments, such as: L1 (base of the ear), L2 (center of the ear), L3 (tip of the ear), and L4 (all parts of the ear). Each treatment consisted of four replicates so that there are 16 experimental units. The results showed that treatment of the seed source location on the ear gives no significant effect on all components of growth. The treatment of L4 (base of the ear) produces the highest percentage of plants grown for 14 days after planting (42.75%), treatment of L2 (center of the ear) produces highest of the plant height at 20 and 40 days after planting (6.17 cm and 45.68 cm). On purple corn yield components, the treatment provides a significant effect on the weight of ear and length of the ear, but no significant effect on the diameter of the ear, number of seed rows per ear and weight of 100 seeds. Treatment L2 (center of the ear) produces the highest yields on the weight of the ear (36.90 g), length of the ear (10.49 cm), diameter of the ear (2.92 cm), the number of seed rows per ear (7.55 lines) and weight of 100 seeds (24.56 g). Abstract

ABSTRACT Cocoa is one of the agricultural products that have a big role, especially in terms of employment, regional development, increasing farmer welfare and increasing revenues/foreign exchange. One of the main pests is the cruncher of cocoa C. cramerella Snell. The research aims to get the technology of environmentally friendly cacao borer pest control through the use of sex pheromone traps. The study was conducted in Makarti Jaya Village, Pohuwato District, Gorontalo Province for 3 months (January - March 2017), using Randomized Block Design (RAK), with 3 treatments and 6 replications. The result of the research is the use of the six traps of pheromone sex succeeded in decreasing the intensity of PBK pest attack, after one month of attack intensity attack trapping decreased to 2.23%, lower than pesticide application which only 4.49%.Keywords: pheromone sex Conopomorpha cramerella Snell, cacao fruit snipper
