Abstract

ABSTRACT Outdoor spaces are important to sustainable cities because they accommodate outdoor activities and contribute greatly to the quality of urban living.During the last decade, interest in the assessment of thermal comfort has increased because of climate changes and increased heat stress in cities. Greenspaces that provide a pleasurable thermal comfort experience for users effectively improve their quality of livability and productivity. However, current investigations lack a general framework for the use of thermal comfort assessment, such as in making master plan or designing better greenspace. This paper discusses greenspace of Sam Ratulangi University Campus relating to thermal comfort. It provides knowledge of thermal comfort investigation and landscape design review. The results of thermal comfort assessment, among 11 observed plots, only greenspace at FMIPA is categorized as comfortablespot. Greenspaces at FAPET and FEB are not really comfortable, those at BNI and FKM A and FKM B are not comfortable and those at FATEK, FAPERTA, FISIP, FH, FKM A are categorized as very uncomfortable spots. We suggest some options for redesigningof uncomfortable and very uncomfortable greenspace spots. Keywords: greenspace, outdoor, termal comfort

Abstract

ABSTRACTEutrofication is one of the water pollution that caused by the increase ofthe consentrate of nutrient. This research studied conducted in catchment area ofSungean river sub DAS Noongan, Kab. Minahasa. The objective of this studywere to quantify the eutrofication’s rapid, in this case the value of Nitrogen andFosfor that caused by any land uses in catchment area of Sungean river sub DASNoongan. This research studied was done by taking the sample of water andquantifying water discharge in some point which had been chosen alongcatchment area of Sungean river that represent various land use. Then theconcentrate of N and P in water sample was analyzed in BARISTAND laboratory. Then the data of N and P That transported from each land uses, was analyzed instatistic with using Randomized Block Design (RBD) and spatial analisis(arcview). The result of research study showed that, each land uses gave effect tothe increase of lake eutrofication. Were in Tondano Lake from Sungean river forN was about 467,1076 mg/day and P was about 5,961849 mg/day. The biggestcontribution of N and P was from residential area, it was 464,2352 mg day-1 ha-1dan 5,961849 mg day-1 ha-1.Keywords : Eutrofikasi, Nutrient, River Of Sungean, Landuse

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study aimed to estimate the population of red jungle fowl in the Tumbohon village. The method used in this study was a survey by the shaped line transect sampling to determine the population density (density) of red jungle fowl. It can be concluded that the density of the red jungle fowl in the forest area Tumbuhon village is 24.1 birds/km2. Value of density estimation based on the observation frequency in transects was 14.1 birds/km2 up to 34.1 birds/km2, while the value of density estimation based on the number of transects was 1.7 birds/km2 up to 46.5 birds/km2.Key words : Red Jungle Fowl, Tumbohon, Line Transect, Density

Abstract

ABSTRACTGaharu contains damar wangi from the mastic tree on a part of gaharu-producer trees that accurs naturally and have died due to a fungal infection that accurs naturally or artificially. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of frequency method Randomized Complete Design (CRD), with 5 treatment and 5 replications. A treatment without fertilizer, B treatment (application of fertilizer once a week, which is on Saturday, C treatment (twice a week, which are on Saturday and Tuesday, D treatment (3 times a week, which are on Saturday, Tuesday and thursday and E treatment (4 times a week, which are on Saturday, Monday, Wednesday, Friday. Planting medium used in this study is a mixture of soil, sand and chicken manure in the ratio 1:1:1 by volume. Variables measured were plant’s height, stem’s diameter and number of leaves. The results showed that the application of leaf fertilizer Gandasil D on Gyrinops versteegi seedi deliver tangible results in plants height. D treatment (application of fertilizer 3 times a week) showed good results in plant compared with other treatment. Keywords : Gyrinops caudata, Agarwood, foliar fertilizer Gandasil D

Abstract

ABSTRACT  The purpose of this research is to estimate the amount of carbon stored in the biomass of mangrove forests in Blongko Village, District Sinonsayang, South Minahasa regency. The study was conducted over two months, from July to September 2014. This research method used 15 sampling plots 20x20 m2 each. Data Analysis used allometric equations to obtain the biomass of each species. Carbon store was assumed to be 0.47 factors of total biomass. The result showed that total carbon store and biomass were 17914.59 Mg and 8419.86 Mg with an average of 409.5 Mg ha-1  and 192.5 Mg ha-1 respectively.  Keywords: Carbon store, Biomass, Mangrove, Blongko Village, South Minahasa Regency.

Abstract

ABSTRACT VEGETATION ANALYSIS IN AGROWISATA AREA OF MOUN TUMPA  This study was to determine the composition and structure of plants in the Region Agro Mount Tumpa. The methods used sguare line with a line. Plot size of 2 m × 2 m for seedling phase, 5 m × 5 m for phase stake, 10 m × 10 m to 20 m mast and phase × 20 m for phase tree. There are 15 plots in three transect observations were cut lengthwise contour lines, the distance between plots of 50 m, and the distance between lines of 100 m. Observation data trunk diameter of 130 cm height from ground level, the name of plant species and number of individuals per species. To obtain the importance value index is calculated density, dominance, and frequency. Based on the results, 40 species and 29 families of trees in the phase of the tree, tree, saplings and seedlings. Of the highest importance value index of tree species Spathodea campanulata phase with (IVI 59,00%), in the phase of pole types which have the highest importance value index Artocarpus altilis types have the (IVI 44.52%), type that have the highest importance value index of phase stake is Piper aduncum with (IVI 37.17%). As for the types that have the highest IVI seedling phase is kind Adenostoma viscosum with (IVI 76.19%).  Keywords: Important Value Index, Analysis Vegetation Agrowista Mountain Region Tumpa.
