Abstract

EPIP is a new engineering education mode, and it is different from the traditional engineering education modes, which is based on vocational education engineering practice. EPIP stands for engineering, practice, innovation, and project. EPIP method proved effective in vocational education engineering practice. After analyzing the steps of EPIP, an application example of EPIP is presented to show what is EPIP, how it works, how to solve the problem of the traditional engineering education and how to transform a traditional electrician skill course to EPIP electrician skill course. EPIP electrician skill course has been tested in the experimental class. The experiment shows that EPIP has improved the innovation capability of students in the electrician skill. EPIP has a certain application value in vocational education. Finally, the paper discusses how to promote EPIP and to improve vocational education.

Abstract

This research aimed to know the pattern of entrepreneurship education in the vocational high school of agribusiness and agrotechnology fields. This research used the qualitative method with a case study approach. The technique of participants determination used snowball sampling. Research participants are teachers of entrepreneurship subjects and vocational subjects (productive) of Agribusiness and Agrotechnology expertise in SMK Negeri 1 Temanggung and SMK Negeri 1 Bawen. The data were collected through interviews, observations, and other relevant sources. The data analysis technique referred to the Interactive Model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldana which includes data collection, data condensation, data display, and conclusion. This research found a pattern of entrepreneurial education consists of four stages: input, process, output, outcome. The primary strategy of entrepreneurship education is (1) learning strategies of collaboration and integration of entrepreneurial subjects with vocational subjects, (2) entrepreneurial growth strategies in schools. Entrepreneurial education outcomes are: (1) graduates choose careers as entrepreneur directly after graduating from the school, or indirectly after working first, (2) graduates can develop and expand the market.

Abstract

This was Research and Development. This research aimed to develop an integrated QR-code e-module to support the paperless movement in the air conditioner (AC) course, and to find out the feasibility of media e-modules and the response of students of Mechanical Engineering Education. The results of this study were: 1) the integrated QR-code e-module product to support the paperless movement in the air conditioner (AC) course, 2) the air conditioner e-module was declared feasible by experts with a percentage of feasibility by material experts of 100%, from the results e-modules worthy of product testing. In the product trial, the results of the readability of e-module media in 20 students obtained an overall score of 1767 indicating "very feasible" with a percentage of 88.35%. In testing the use of the results of the readability of e-module media; 50 students obtained an overall score of 4128 indicating "feasible" with a percentage of 82.56%, so it could be said that the e-module developed was feasible to be used as a learning media for the manufacture of AC and accessories.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the deepening program of national exam materialsof vocational students in Bantul District. This research is evaluation research with CPRP (Context, Input, Process, and Product) evaluation model from Stufflebeam using quantitative approach supported by qualitative. Data werecollected using questionnaires, interviews, observations, and documentation. The results of the research are, first, the context is very useful, shown by organizational program organizers have been structured, and the program isvery relevant to the needs of students; Second, the input is quite effective, the readiness of the students to followthe program and management has been well managed, the program plan is very effective, the program strategy isquite effective, and the learning media is very useful; Third, the process is quite effective indicated by the level ofstudent participation in the implementation of the morning is lower than the daytime. Learning process accordingto program planning; Fourth, the product aspect is very effective with the benefits of the program.

Abstract

The research was aimed to describe the profile and the management of special jobs recruitment of Vocational Schools in Kebumen Regency. The mandate of the special jobs recruitment is to facilitate the graduates of the schools to get jobs soon after their graduation. The research is a qualitative approach. The setting of the research was the Asociation of special jobs recruitment in the Kebumen Regency. The association consists of 59 schools, consisting of 29 business and management schools and 30 industrial technology schools. The data of the research were collected by using interview, observation, and documentation methods. The resources of the data were the head of the Asociation of special jobs recruitment, the managers of special jobs recruitment, teachers, principals, and the guidance and counselor teachers. The key informant was the head of the special jobs recruitment association in the Regency. The data were inductively analyzed, and the steps of data analysis using Miles and Huberman interactive model. The results of the research show that (1) the rate of recruitment of vocational high school graduates relatively high, (2) the  graduates get the job facilitated by special jobs recruitment by the model of contract for 6 months to 2 years, (3) the graduates get the jobs not always in their competences as they were trained, (5) it is very rare the graduates get a permanent job after their first or second contract finish. The industries prefer to hire new graduates as job seekers rather than giving a permanent assignment. There is a concern that the graduates will be lost their job in their productive lifetime.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out the process of developing steps and to know the feasibility and validity of flip book-based teaching materials in the design and learning strategies at Budi Utomo IKIP. This development research uses the ADDIE Model. The ADDIE model is a general learning system model and is one of the models in product development, the application of the ADDIE model in learning design facilitates a learning environment adapted to existing problems. Each stage in the ADDIE model has an evaluation so that each stage will affect the next stage. The results of the study show that overall the interactions that occur in the blended learning process using flip book teaching materials are quite satisfying. This means that there is a significant process of interaction between teachers and students. Based on the trials that have been done to material experts, media experts and students, it can be concluded that flip-book teaching materials support blended learning with each percentage of (1) material experts (96.2%) with valid/feasible criteria , (2) Media experts (95%) with valid / feasible criteria, (3) Individual students (97.5%) with valid / feasible criteria, (4) Small group students (94.5%) with valid / feasible criteria , (5) Large group students (93%) with valid / feasible criteria. Student learning outcomes have also shown mastery learning (80.9%). This shows that flip-book teaching material as a support for blended learning is successful in providing a positive effect on student learning outcomes.
