Abstract

Culture is one of the broadcast programs that attract media actors, especially television. The plus value of culture increases, when the media is able to read the wishes of its target audience. Where, Urang Banjar's religious character, who likes to attend taklim assemblies to listen to the tausiah of master teachers, periodically becomes the target of the program set by Duta Tv. In research based on the semiotic approach of signs from Pierce, examined found various forms of icons, indexes and symbols from banjar culture, which were packaged by hosts with resource persons (tuan guru) in Islamic shows. As a local television, Duta Tv is able to re-present (re-presentation) the content of local wisdom of Banjar culture that touches the real life side of its community, wrapped in Islamic values. In addition, Duta Tv carefully chooses the right source with the expectations of his audience, namely an Islamic figure who is thick with his banjar language and dialect. Through the findings of research, Islamic shows on Duta tv have been able to combine local wisdom that has a positive impact on the preservation of Banjar culture and Islam.

Abstract

The government initiated an impactful campus program, namely the role of campuses that not only produce graduates but also transform people's lives. One of them is through campus social responsibility based on Islamic values. This study aims to explore the contribution of universities in developing networks and digitizing BUMDes Lumintu in Blora Regency and at the same time carry out the role of preaching in society through Islamic values. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques through observation and in-depth interviews with BUMDes managers, lecturers, students, and other stakeholders. Data were analyzed systematically to understand the role of campuses in village empowerment. The results of the study show that universities play an important role in strengthening networks through collaboration with the government and community. Despite challenges in infrastructure and community involvement, the synergy between academics, government, and the community in different ways, namely through taujih, irsyad and himayah has proven effective in supporting BUMDes development. The University Social Responsibility (USR) approach provides a relevant model for village empowerment, emphasizing the importance of active participation from all parties. Sustainable and collaborative programs are expected to be a catalyst for more independent and sustainable village development.

Abstract

This study discusses the ambiguity of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) digital da'wah in facing religious populism and identity politics with a focus on NU's online media platform. This study was conducted because of the increasing strategic role of digital media in shaping religious and political public opinion in Indonesia, as well as NU's position as a representation of moderate Islam. The research approach used is qualitative with Van Dijk's critical discourse analysis method. This method is used to analyze the content of articles in NU Online related to moderation, religious identity, and populism. The results show that there is ambiguity in NU Online articles. Three main ambiguities are indicated by the results of the study: the narrative of moderation and exclusive nationalism, the paradox of rejecting identity politics, and the deradicalization debate that tends to define moderate Islam in a limited way. The results show that NU Online is not only a da'wah medium but also an arena for symbolic battles to maintain NU's hegemonic position in the landscape of identity politics in Indonesia. This study enhances our understanding of how mainstream religious media create ideologically laden da'wah narratives. In addition, this study shows how important it is to think critically when responding to digital da'wah messages in the era of religious populism.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of the Muhadharah program on students’ public speaking skills at the Islamic Centre Al-Quds, West Sumatra. The topic highlights the importance of mastering oral communication skills for da’wah, academics, and career development, alongside the need to evaluate the program’s effectiveness. Using a quantitative correlational approach, data were collected from 22 active participants through a Likert-scale questionnaire and evaluation records. Data analysis employed Pearson correlation and simple linear regression. Results showed a positive and significant relationship between the Muhadharah program and students’ public speaking skills (r = 0.603; p = 0.003), with the program contributing 36.4% to skill improvement. These findings confirm that Muhadharah, as a practice-based training program, is effective in enhancing students’ communication abilities within Islamic educational settings.
