Abstract

All developers should consider continuity of water supply for the house dweller, as much rain water falling on the house yard will be lost as run-off water instead of filling the shallow ground water. Hence, there should be absorption wells to absorb the water falling from house roof. By so doing, it can increase ground water supply. However, there should be an exact dimension of the absorption well, as the amount of the falling water from house roof depends on the roof width. The dimension of the well for each house can be measured based on roof width, rain fall, and soil capability to absorb water or infiltration capability. For unrennovated house, well diameter are 80 to 120 cm and its total depth are 60 to 160 cm. While for rennovated house, well diameter are 90 to 140 cm and total depth are 120 to 190 cm

Abstract

This article discusses area as a basic component of living environment. Area can be defined by different perspectives'. The difference of perspectives and land use ethics causes conflict of interest among land user. The conflict will lead to degradation of environmental qualityl. The phenomena can be observed through factors such greenhouse effect, acid rain, ozone depletion, pollution, and social inequality.

Abstract

It is indicated that rice field soil and plants on Rancaekek Bandung is containing heavy metal elements. This research aims to find out rehabilitation method for rice field soil by phytoremediation. Experiment was conducted in greenhouse. Vegetation used for this research were eceng gondok, mendong, akar wangi and haramay. The vegetation treatment was conducted under greenhouse experiments using Complete Randomized Design (CRD). Result showed that the use of vegetation had reduced the volume of Pb and Cd in the soil. Heavy metals are also contained within the roots and the leaves of the indicator plants. Mendong contained the highest concentration of Pb accumulated in its root, while akar wangi was indicated as contained Cd in its roots. Eceng gondok was indicated as containing the highest consentration of Pb and Cd accumulated in its leaves

Abstract

The study was conducted to observe concentration of lead on Crustacean as a marine product of Muara Angke’s traditional fisherman of Jakarta Bay. Four species of Crustacean were selected as sample. Each sample was triple and collected in four sampling periods, east monsoon, transition period from east to west monsoon (transition period I), west monsoon, and transition period from west to east monsoon (transition period II). Lead concentrations of collected samples were tested using flame-AAS. The result indicated that lead concentration on meat of Crustacean was lower than the concentration on carapaces and gills. But each of the concentration was higher than maximum level proposed by CCFAC (1999). Commonly the concentration of lead on Crustacean especially on meat and gills were high during east monsoon, but low during west monsoon.

Abstract

The purpose of the research is to apply the cultivation technology in mini tuber (G0) and to investigate the phenotypic performances quantitative of three potato clones A5, PAS3063 and PAS3064 which were resistant from bacterial wilt disease (Ralstonia solanacearum). The commercial potato varieties (Granola and Atlantic) were used as comparison varieties. All clones (A5, PAS3063 and PAS3064), and two other varieties (Granola and Atlantic) wereconsistently resistant from bacterial wilt disease. The vegetative and the production variables of the tested clones were significantly different from those two commercial potato varieties. A5 and PAS3064 clones showed better vegetative and production characteristic than two commercial potato varieties. PAS3064 clone showed better performance compared with Atlantic variety, but it was almost similar compare with Granola variety.

Abstract

The objection of the research is to study the effect of soaking time if sredded of gadung (Dioscorea hispida Dennst) soaking in brine. The research design comprises of two factorials. Those are consentration of brine 5% and 7,5% and soaking time comprises three levels 48 hours, 60 hours, and 72 hours, The research shows that soaking time 72 hours with brine 5% and 7,5% was the safest gadung flour to be consumed. The treatment of soaking time 72 hours in 7,5% brine has 18,75 ppm HCN, 41,51% starch, 1,59% fiber, 10,8% water, 6,01% ash, 97,84 color degree and preference taste of tiwul 2,1 betweendislike and like. The treatment of soaking time 72 hours in 5% brine has 19,62 ppm HCN, 50,49% starch, 1,58% fiber, 9,64% water, 4,34% ash , 98,41 color degree, and preference taste of tiwul 2,87 between dislike and like.

Abstract

The research goal was to find the nutrition content of the skin crackers ‘Kerupuk Jangek’. Several steps were used to determine the traditional production process, the nutrition content, hedonic value, and halal criteria. The research employed survey and laboratory works. Survey was conducted in Jangek area, West Sumatera to gain information on the skin cracker production process and its type industry. Laboratory works were done in IPB for organoleptic testing. Based on the BPOM guidance, the Kerupuk Jangek production process has followed the halal requirement. The beef skin cracker was more crunchy and tasty than the buffalo skin cracker. The crackers contained high level of protein which can not be digested and absorbed by human body. The crackers contained higher level of lipid than the raw. The beef skin crackers contained less mineral and water than the buffalo skin crackers.

Abstract

The article discusses the application of potato cultivation technology, process of G4 potato tuber seed production, and economic analysis for G4 potato tuber seed agribusiness. The method used in the research is cultivating G4 potato tuber seed on two different seasons, wet and dry season. The economic analysis shows that the G4 potato tuber seed agribusiness is beneficial. Research shows that production of G4 potato tuber seed on wet season is 25,684 ton per 1,2 Ha with net profit Rp. 25.798.800 and B/C ratio 1.52. On dry season, the production is 19,294 ton/Ha with net profit Rp. 10.247.950 and B/C ratio 1.21. The G 4 potato tuber seed agribusiness gives more benefit than potato consumption tuber agribusiness, although they provide adequate profit.

Abstract

In the cocoa tree, the genes for producing an abscission zone are in pedicles. The process is hormonally driven by ethylene whilst auxins apparently decrease the sensitivity to ethylene. When the level of auxin declones, a special layer of cells (the abscission layer) is formed at the base of petiole or fruit stalk. Ethylene stimulates the production of enzimes that degrade the middle lamella beetween cells in the abscission zone. The concept development so far is correct that should be possible to delay abscission by aplication of sinthetic auxins. Aplication of compound enhance levels of auxins or decrease absicic acid and /or ethylene. Such conditions may inhibit young fruit abscission and promote fruit development.
