Abstract

The development of sheep livestock is done as a comodity producer to meet the need of the meat. To increase the productivity of the sheep, the feed have a certain quality with the mix of worm flour. This research aims to determine the influence of the use of worm flour (Lumbricus rubellus) concerning to dry and organic matter digestibility lokal male sheeps feed. This research was conducted in the enclosure of research at the Faculty of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry Department of the Universitas Sebelas Maret Surakarta which is located in the Village Jatikuwung, Gondangrejo District, District Karanganyar. Research was conducted from December 28th, 2008 to February 22nd, 2009 using the 12 local male tail sheep with body weight on average 13.82 ± 0.73 kg / head. Feed given at 6% of body weight consist of a concentrate forage and comparison with 70:30 per cent (basic dry matter). Utilized of the concentrate made of a mixture that consist of bekatul, oilcake soybean, corn flour, worm flour, and premix while forage given a field grass. Feed treatment used field grass 70%, concentrate 30% (P0); field grass 70%, 28% concentrate, worm flour 2% (P1); field grass 70%, 26% concentrate, worm flour 4% (P2) and 70% field grass, 24% concentrate, worms flour 6% (P3). Experimental design used was the Complete Random Design (CRD) pattern, the direction of the 4-level treatment (P0, P1, P2, and P3). Each treatment consist of 3 test replications and the replications each of one local male sheep. Parameter observed: dry matter consumption (DMC), organic matter consumption (OMC), dry matter digestibility (DMD), and organic matter digestibility (OMD). Results of research indicate that the average of the four treatment (P0, P1, P2 and P3) respectively for the dry matter consumption 858.35, 876.57, 881.55 and 887.58 (grams/ head/ day), organic matter consumption 670.32, 682.04, 686.16 and 689.03 (grams/ head/ day), dry matter digestibility 55.17, 59.51, 57.19 and 58.84 percent and organic matter digestibility 66.28, 69.09, 67.21 and 68.12 percent. Variansi analysis results show that the dry matter consumption, organic matter consumption, dry matter digestibility, and organic matter digestibility is not significantly different (P ≥ 0.05). Conclusion of this research is the use of worm flour (Lumbricus rubellus) in feed up to 6% of the total concentration does not affect consumption and digestibility of dry and organic matter, but able to maintain the quality oflocal male sheep feed.

Abstract

Dark red colored salam (Syzygium polyanthum (Wight.) Walp) fruits was expected contain of anthocyanin compounds. Recent research results have shown that anthocyanins from edible fruits were effective antioxidants. Antioxidative properties of anthocyanins arise from their high reactivity as  hydrogen or electron donors, and from the ability of the polyphenol-derived radicals to stabilize and delocalize the unpaired electronn, and from their ability to chelate transition metal ion. This research aims to determine anti radical capacity of anthocyanin extract from fresh salam fruits extracted with different solvent proportion and their correlation to the total anthocyanin content. Results indicated anthocyanin extract from fresh salam fruits showed anti radical capacity that increased along to solvent proportion raised. The anti radical capacity showed high correlation with the total anthocyanin content (R 0.954, P<0.05).

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze achievement elastisity, to know the different level of consument achievement toward meet broiler in early and final month, to know the factors influence meet broiler achievement, and to know the influent of Al occur toward consument favorite on buying meet broiler in traditional market in Surakarta. The step of collecting data of this research was done on Juni to Juli 2007 with the taking data location in Gede market, Legi market, Kleco market and Kadipiro market. The research basic method used is descriptive method with taking sample technic is porposively random sampling on selling respondent is about 40 people. The analysis data used is analysis of double linier product function. The result of this research shows the average of the buying total per day in every selling respondent is about 51,75 broiler. The average detail of the buying consist of in early month is about 52 broiler and in final month is about 51,5 broiler/day/treader. From t-test exam is known that t value count the average month and meet broiler in early month and in final month is same. It means 0,240 where the value smallest than the value t table of the belileve level 95% (t count < t table), so H0 achieved means the buying meet broiler in early and in final month is not different. From regretion analysis result was done achieve regretion model: Y=0,908+0,040X1+0,000X2-0,001X3+0,143X4-0,088X5+e, with determinant coeficient (R2) is about 22,9%. The F value count is about 10,651 where value Fcount > Ftable is about 2,621 with df to counting is about 5 (k-1) and df together independent variable (the income of consument family, the price of meet broiler, the price of substitution goods, the total of members of consument family, and (the total of meet broiler achievement). While, the individually is only price of meet broiler  variable has fact influent. From the analysis result conclude that the achievement of meet broiler in Surakarta is inelastically, it caused by significant regretion, coefisien is 0,001 and among value 0 and 1 (0<ES<1).

Abstract

The research ordering to analyze the greatest affecting of production factors to the production result in soybean farm in Sukoharjo Regency and to find out whether the farmer in Sukoharjo Regency had reached the highest economic efficiency. The main method of research was descriptive and the technique was by using survey. The research was conducted in Sukoharjo Regency. The research took 30 farmers as the sample. The samples are monoculture soybean farmer which selected by purpusive sampling. The result of the doubled-linier regression analysis performed that the production factors which gave the greatest affecting to the result of soybean production is large of land. The large of land has linier comparison effect to the production result of soybean and affected to the production result of soybean, means addition of production factor of seeds exactly will be bring increase the production result of soybean. Based on the maximum profit approach can be found out that the combination of the use of production factors in soybean farm in Sukoharjo Regency not yet optimal. It means that the soybean farm needs combination of increasing and or decreasing production factors to optimize the use of production factor.

Abstract

So far, development of rural agribusiness institutions is commonly far from expectation to solve related problems. The model of partnership between farmers and agribussiness entrepreneurs indicated an unsatisfactory performance. The underdevelopment of the partnership’s model was due to philosophically, it had not united stakeholders within a common purpose which provided benefits proportionally. The objective of the research aimed at (i) describing the local agribussines institution having potential to suppot a carrot agribussiness; (i) to assess the local institutional performance in order to support a carrot agribussiness; (ii) to examine the opinion of its stakeholders towards institutional development for carrot. This study used a descriptive method. The location have been selected purposively. The Subdistrict of Tawangmangu had been selected as the produce of carrot was the highest compared to other subdistricts in District of Karanganyar. The information was collected from a number of key informants. The informants get confused about the concept of ‘agropolitant itself; even some of the farmers did not care about that concept. Area of agropolitant which formerly planned to become agro-tourism and the promotion of the local product was regarded far from expectation. In fact, there was no marketing activities for those local products. Some programs was considered to be reasonable to implement in order to achieve the objectives. First, in order to improve the bargaining positions, it was reasonable to increase the intensity of asssistance. Particularly, it was suggested to increase the quality of organization management and entreprenurship. Second, it is necessary for the local government to facilitate the networks among the subdistricts or with outer districts with special attention to connect the carrot farmers. As the institution which is commodity base is effective for implementing the function of development, advocation, and promotion relevant to carrot. Third, there is necessary for local government to improve the effectiveness, especialy at the stage of socialization, in regard with the agropolitant development.
