Abstract

Lampung is one of the Province that potential to cacao produce. Stem borer Zeuzera coffeae (Lepidoptera: Cossidae) is one of the pests that often be found, besides Conopomorpha cramerella and Helopelthis sp. Z. coffeae can bore branches and stems it caused xylem damage, plant break easily or plant growth inhibited. The research were conducted from September to October 2017. Sampling was doing at smallholder cocoa plantation in Cipadang Village, Gedongtataan Sub-district, Pesawaran District. Survey was doing to observe pest attacks characteristic, inventory of attacked host, identification of symptoms, and number of fruits. Attack intensity in young plant is higher than in older plants. In 4 years plants the intensity of attack and damage are 11,34% and 7,73%. While the intensity of attack and damage in the 9 plant years are 7,50% and 5,00%.   Keywords: attack intensity, cocoa, stem borer, Zeuzera sp.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to measure the effect of giant salvinia compost and compound fertilizers on growth of cocoa seedlings. This research has been conducted in State Polytechnic of Lampung experimental garden, Rajabasa, Bandar Lampung on December 2014 until May 2015. The method used was a randomized block design (RBD). The factorial pattern consisting of two factors. The first factor was the rate of giant salvinia compost consists of four levels, namely: K0 = 0 g.polybag-1, K1 = 200 g.polybag-1, K2 = 300 g.polybag-1, and K3 = 400 g.polybag-1. The second factor was the rate of compound fertilizer consists of two levels, namely: M0 = 0 g.polybag-1, M1 = 5 g.polybag-1, M2 = 10 g.polybag-1. Data were analyzed by analysis of variance further significantly different if followed by LSD test at the 5% level of accuracy. Observations included plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter, root length, dry weight, and ratio of root-shoot dry weight. The results showed that giant salvinia affected on plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter, root length, and the ratio of root-shoot dry weight. Compound fertilizer also affected on plant height and number of leaves, stem diameter, root length, and and ratio of root-shoot dry weight. Abstract

In the sugarcane processing into sugar, it will produce g. About 52,9% of liquias, solid, and luquid waste. About 52,9% of liquid waste cause many problems. If the liquid waste directly discharged into the waters, it will cause pollution of water bodies, as well as air pollution around the river. The objective of this study is to obtain the effective and duration activity of the combination of active sludge and sodium bicarbonate in reducing the sugarcane industry of liquid waste. In this research, liquid waste management is done by aerobicized batch system stagnant in laboratory scale with the descriptive analysis. Biodegradation treatment is given to the liquid waste derived from anaerobic ponds in Bunga Mayang Sugar Mill, North Lampung. The treatment is L0 = without treatment (control), L1 = without sludge + 5 g.l-1 sodium bicarbonate, L2 = 100 ml.l-1 active sludge + 5 g.l-1 sodium bicarbonate. The result showed that application of 100 ml.l-1 active sludge + 5 g.l-1 sodium bicarbonate can increase the pH to 7,85, increase DO to 0,16 mg.l-1, reduce COD to 48,18%, increase sulfide content to 90,44%, increase turbidity to 95,4%, increase the wastewater temperature to 35oC, and the time required is shorter than the conventional anaerobic pools.   Keywords: active sludge, liqud waste, sodium bicarbonatePermalink: http://jurnal.polinela.ac.id/index.php/AIP/article/view/650

Abstract

Inventory is an important thing for the industrial company, so determination of order quantity must be done optimally and reduce the inventory cost.  PT Keong Nusantara Abadi is an industrial company for processing of nata de coco that requires an inventory control system so that the purchase of raw material becomes optimal.  Therefore, this research was conducted to analyze inventory control carried out by PT Keong Nusantara Abadi and determine alternative methods of inventory control of raw material for the company.  This research use Material Requirement Planning (MRP) system.  MRP system has two ways to determine the order quantity called lot sizing decision.  Techniques for determining the quantity of order is Economic Order Quantity (EOQ), Lot for Lot (LFL), and Part Periode Balancing (PPB).  The technique of determining the order quantity that is best use by PT Keong Nusantara Abadi is EOQ which result in lower inventory cost than inventory control techniques by the company that is saved by 9%, 10%, 7,3% consecutively during 2015, 2016, and 2017.

Abstract

The sugarcane (Saccharum officinarum L.) is the plant that worth high economical enough, because is the main raw material in manufacture of sugar. One of the efforts to increase the sugarcane production is applying organic fertilizer that can support the growth of sugarcane. The organic fertilizer is fertilizer that's mostly or entirely consist of organic material that from plants or animals that have through the decomposition process, it's can be solid or liquid which is used to supply organic material to improve the physical, chemical and biological soil. It's carried in the garden at Politeknik Negeri Lampung in September 2014 until January 2015. The experiment were performed using a randomized design group (RDG) factorial design which consists of two treatment factor is dosage of organic fertilizer and sugarcane varieties. The first was treatment    dose of organic fertilizer that consists of  5 levels, it?s 0 kg.ha-1 (control), 500 kg.ha-1, 1000 kg.ha-1, 1500 kg.ha-1, and 2000 kg.ha-1. The second factor is a sugarcane varieties, it'sGMP 2 and GMP 3 varieties.  The study aims to get the optimal dose of organic fertilizer (Ghaly Organik), the best sugarcane varieties and knowing the interaction between the treatmenton vegetative growth of sugarcane. The result showed that the optimal dose that was applied on GMP 2 and GMP 3 varieties is 1000 kg.ha-1. GMP 2 Sugarcane varieties have better vegetative growth as compare with GMP 3sugarcane varieties. Abstract

KSU Putera Mekar is the first cooperative to own a tea processing factory directly managed by smallholder tea farmers and produce dried tea products called Iroet tea. The beginning of Iroet Tea factory, they sell their products to PT Sariwangi AEA (Agricultural Estate Agency) and other small companies such as Agriwangi and Elinkindo, but it does not go long. PT Sariwangi broke his contract with the cooperative so that the cooperative did not have a large customer anymore. Cooperative members are decreasing because the cooperative is unable to absorb wet tea tops from farmers and can not afford to pay farmers with pay-weight system, but the agro-industry business still survives. This makes the cooperative requires the chronological know the main cause of bad business cooperatives and the reasons for cooperatives to survive. The research design used in this research is qualitative with case study technique. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The results showed that the main cause of bad business cooperatives is the loss of large consumers and the absence of bailout funds. The reason for the cooperative still persists to this day because the cooperative management has a good orientation to improve the business of Iroet tea agroindustry, supported by the loyalty of cooperative members.   Keywords: agroindustry, cooperatives, loyalty, smallholder tea farmer

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the growth response of the cocoa seed to compost filter cake and nitrogen fertilizer application. This research has been carried out in State Polytechnic of Lampung teaching farm from September 2013 to March 2014 The method used was randomized block design (RBD) with factorial pattern consisting of two factors. The first factor is the compost filter cake, consisting of four levels, namely B0 = 0 g (control), B1 = 50 g, 100 g = B2, and B3 = 150 g per polybag. The second factor is the rate of nitrogen (Urea) fertilizer that consists of four levels, namely N0 = 0 g (control), N1 = 2.5 g, N2 =5.0 g and N3 = 7.5 g per polybag. The indicator used is cocoa seedlings (Theobroma cacao L.). Observations of plant height, leaf number, stem diameter, leaf width, root volume, shoot dry weight, root dry weight, and water content of the soil. Data were analyzed by analysis of variance with the level of accuracy of 5%, then if the calculated F value is greater than the F table, then followed by LSD test. Abstract

Farmer dependence on inorganic fertilizers drives the inclination of the fertilizer price which in turn influence the production cost. Therefore, it is necessary to find alternative way to reduce the consumption of inorganic fertilizers. This study aims to determine the most suitable arbuscular mycorrhiza fungi (AMF) for oil palm seedlings, determining the best dosage of phosphate fertilizer for the growth of oil palm seedlings, and determine whether the growth response of oil palm seedlings to AMF inoculation is influenced by the dosage of P fertilizer given. Research had been conducted in the greenhouse and Plantation Production Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung from June 2012 until August 2013. The treatment design used was a factorial design and the experimental design used was a completely randomized block design. The first factor was AMF treatment i.e. control, Entrophospora sp. mv 3 isolate, Glomus sp. mv 9 isolate, Glomus sp. mv 10 isolate, and Glomus sp. mv 15 isolate. The second factor was the dosage of P fertilizer i.e. 23,32 g, 15,66 g, and 11,66 g per plant. Each treatment was repeated 4 times. The results showed that Glomus sp. mv 15 isolate was the most suitable type of AMF for oil palm seedlings. All dosages of P fertilizer tested showed no growth effect on oil palm seedlings and the growth response of oil palm seedlings to inoculation of AMF was not affected by dosage of P fertilizer. Keywords: Entrophospora, Glomus, mycorrhiza, oil palm, phosphate

Abstract

Rubber (Hevea brasiliensis Muell. Arg.) is one of  important agriculture comodity on Indonesia. Wide area of Indonesia rubber agriculture on 2013 are 3,5 million hectares. With 3,2 million tones production maked Indonesia at second level ocupasi because low quality of block rubber. This research objective are getting liquid smoke dosage and active carbon as latexs coagulant. Research used randomized  completely block design (RCBD) with 12 treatments and repeat 3 times. Liquid smoke dosage with 1:1 dilution and 2,60 pH are 6%, 8%, 10% and active carbon dosage 1% and 2% with formiat acid as a control. Latek coagulating process rubber production and rubber crepe quality testing suitable with SIR did in procesing factory and SIR quality testing laboratory Way Berulu PTPN VII, Pesawaran, Lampung. This research carried out November 2014 until  January 2015. The results of this research showed more high liquid smoke dosage and active carbon from coconut shell can effect time of lateks coagulation fasier in 4,8 minutes. More high dosage of liquid smoke and active carbon treatment effected decrease of PRI and increase of latex waste level, dust level and evaporate substance level. Liquid smoke with 1:1 dilition and active carbon from coconut shell as latex coagulant showed dust level higher, so the latex are not suitable with SIR. Abstract

Rubber comes from rubber tree (Hevea brasiliensis Muell. Arg.) which is produced by major plantation and small plantation. Rubber as industrial material requires good quality assurance, so the company will try to do intensif quality control to the product material component, production process or final process. The implementation of the quality control relates to quality standard which is determined by the company. Quality control tries to minimize damage product, maintain to the final product fit to quality standard of certain company and avoid damage product comes to consument. This research is intended to identify production process of rubber crumb, analyse quality control of rubber crumb and find out factors affect the quality of SIR 3L at PTPN VII Way Berulu Business Unit. According to the result of the P-Chart Analysis, on January 2015 there are some product damages, but the damage can still be controled statistically. Proportion or average of the product damage is 0,063 and the highest damage appearef in 28 January with the presentage of 14,76.
