Abstract

AbstractEducation is not just a transfer of knowledge but also looks at the moral side and character. The process of cultivating character can be done through a variety of media. One of the media that can be used as a means of inculcating moral values is film. Films with audio and visual depictions are able to influence someone to act in accordance with the message in the film. In this study, the author examines the Bajrangi Bhaijaan film. The aim of this research is to explore the values of character contained in the film. The method used in this research is the semiotic analysis method. The results of the analysis of the film Bajrangi Bhaijaan show that the film has a lot of moral values. First the caring attitude. Both are devoted to God, as God's creatures. Third is the work ethic or hard work. Fourth love affection. Fifth discipline. Sixth honest, honest attitude will make someone trusted by others. Seventh responsibility, this attitude reflects someone who is able to solve problems and the mandate given to him. Abstract

AbstractIn language communication there are various skills that need to be mastered, ranging from reading, writing to speaking. In this study, the author will examine the use of vlogs as a medium of learning to speak in English at IAIN Surakarta more specifically at the sharia faculty and the faculty of usuludin dakwah. The study uses descriptive qualitative methods. The findings were obtained that the vlog media was able to increase student motivation and improve students' abilities or skills, especially in speaking English. Abstract

AbstractIn Islam the barometer of one's level of faith is morals. Therefore, with the existence of religious activities, it will affect one's morals. The phenomenon of moral degradation seems to be rife among students. So there is a need for immediate handling, one of which is from the school. Schools can take policies that shape the character of moral and character students. The study examines the implementation of religious activities in improving the moral quality of students at Weru Sukoharjo Vocational School Science and Technology. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The results of the study are known that, Weru Sukoharjo Vocational School Science and Technology is one of the Vocational Schools in Sukoharjo Regency which is not Islamic based but implements various religious activities. Religious activities are divided into two types, namely activities outside of learning, such as simultaneous prayer, tilawatil quran, and Islamic studies, as well as activities in learning, such as tahsin and tahfidzul quran.Keywords: Religious activities, morals

Abstract

AbstractIn literary works such as novels there are various aspects that attract the reader and make the reader enjoy it. The politeness aspect will be useful to help the reader in understanding the contents of the novel. In this study, the author examines the literary work of Teman Imaji's novel by Mutia Prawitasari which is analyzed in terms of the language approach, especially pragmatics, namely the theory of politeness principles. This paper aims to find out what politeness principles of language are contained in the novel of Teman Imaji by Mutia Prawitasari. The type of research used in this study is the literature. The texts examined in this study are in the form of literary novels, namely the novel Teman Imaji by Mutia Prawitasari. The method used in studying the novel Teman Imaji by Mutia Prawitasari is a descriptive analytic method. The results can be seen that in the novel there are several maxims which indicate the principle of language modesty. The maxims include wisdom maxim, generosity, praise, humility, agreement, and sympathy maxim.Keywords: Novel, politeness of language

Abstract

AbstractThe media has a big role in conveying information, even able to reconstruct an insight of Islam and nationality. In this study, the author argues that Cilukba magazine, as a representation of Islam, helped reconstruct the values of Indonesian nationality among children. The area of reconstruction in this paper focuses on several subjects: language, games and traditional food. Furthermore, this paper would like to analyze how Cilukba magazine represents national values. This paper is useful to see the authority of popular print media in constructing the face of Islamic nationalism in Indonesia. This research is a type of qualitative research with content analysis techniques. This research uses written data sources, where the primary data sources used are the Cilukba and Cilukba Junior magazines, while the secondary data sources come from junals and books. The result, it is known that Cilukba magazine, contributes towards strengthening national values through local culture. Strengthening local culture is manifested in the form of languages, games and traditional foods, which are represented in magazine rubrics. With that being seen, first, Cilukba magazine raised the locality of culture to knit nationality. Abstract

AbstractStudents are adult learners who are required to be independent in learning. Along with the rapid and massive development of the times, in self-directed learning students are currently facilitated by the availability of technology. So in this era of digital literacy becomes important provisions in student independent learning. In this study, the author will examine digital literacy and self-directed learning independent learning abilities among students of third-year English Education IAIN Surakarta. This research leads to qualitative research. The results of the study note that, to complete the assignments of the lecturers, many students use the internet as a source of learning. In addition they realize that they have implemented independent learning (SDL) in their daily lives. Balanced by their ability to digitally literate, the process of independent learning increasingly adds to the learning outcomes.Keywords: Digital literacy, self-directed learning

Abstract

AbstractThe times by increasing the sophistication of science and technology have led to an increase in the flow of communication in Indonesia. Increasing the flow of cyberspace communication is increasingly widespread with various forms of communication both leading to positive and negative things such as hate speech. If negative forms of communication such as hate speech are not immediately prevented or overcome, it can have a negative impact on the unity and integrity of the Indonesian state. Therefore there is a need for treatment, one of the forms of handling is by optimizing tertiary institutions through the three principles of Tri Darma, education, research and service. In this case the author, examines the role of Islamic subjects and Javanese culture in dealing with expressions of hatred. The aim is to find out the role of Islamic tertiary institutions in preventing or overcoming hate speech, more specifically through these courses. The research method used in this paper is a qualitative analytical descriptive method. This course teaches a number of attitudes and principles of life that are relevant to Islamic teachings and are compatible with the principles of peace including universal attitudes, tolerance, understanding of togetherness and diversity, ngajeni marang liyan (respecting others). So this subject needs to be optimized in preventing or overcoming the utterance of hatredKeywords: Islam and Javanese Culture, hate speech.

Abstract

AbstractPeople with disabilities often experience feelings of inferiority in their community. This makes people with disabilities often depressed or have difficulty accepting the situation. So there is need for rehabilitation to encourage and provide some provisions for their lives. The purpose of this study was to find out how the process of developing self-esteem of persons with physical disabilities through social rehabilitation at BBRSBD Prof. Dr. Soeharso Surakarta. The method in this research is descriptive qualitative method by conducting several observations and interviews. The results obtained, that the process of self-development or self-esteem carried out at BBRSBD Prof. Dr. Soeharso Surakarta, the initial stage is the concept of self-mirror. Then given some motivation and skills that are able to awaken themselves and equip themselves in their lives.Keywords: Disability, self-esteem

Abstract

AbstractTranslating a text is certainly not arbitrary, it needs to pay attention to various aspects. Especially in translating in a film. In this study, the author will examine the translation technique in Indonesian-English subtitles in the film Alice in Wonderland by indoxxi.net. This study uses descriptive research related to the identification of translation techniques in Indonesian-English subtitles by INDOXXI.NET. The results are known, that in Indonesian-English subtitles in Alice in Wonderland has 11 translation techniques. There is a literal meaning, adaptation, loan, reduction, modulation, particularization, explicitation, transposition, amplification, equivalence, and compensation. After analyzing the subtitles, most of them use the literal meaning. Found almost 75% of the literal meaning for this technique. Also, we found about 8% using adaptation techniques, 7% using loan techniques. Abstract

AbstractIn drama scripts, of course there are dialog interactions, these dialogues often bring up various interpretations. In this study, the author will discuss violations and the principles of cooperation contained in the drama “Bunga Rumah Makan”. Inspected with a pragmatic approach and implications for Indonesian language and literature learning materials. The purpose of writing this article is to find out and obtain a description of the implications of the discourse in the play. The type of this research is qualitative. The method used is descriptive analysis method. As a result, the drama script of “Bunga Rumah Makan” by Utuy Tatang Sontani violated the principles of cooperation, namely the quantity maxim, quality maxim, relevance maxim, and implementation maxim. Deviations found in the drama “Bunga Rumah Makan” text which arise due to violations of the principle of cooperation consist of different kinds of implicature. The implicature is an implicature that is clear, hateful, seductive, and refusing. This proves that conversations that do not carry out the principle of cooperation will produce implicature in a conversation.Keywords: Drama, the principle of cooperation, maxim
