Abstract

Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) is a polyester which is widely used as a container or packaging material, especially mineral water and soft drinks. Recycling is necessary to overcome the post-consumer PET waste PET difficult because degraded naturally. Chemical recycling is an appropriate method for depolymerisation. Glycolysis is the method that is often used as the process was easy. Optimization parameters of glycolysis on the rate of reaction in the efforts to improve the products of glycolysis has been done as the use of catalysts. Metal acetate catalysts such as zinc acetate is a catalyst which shows good activity in the reactions of glycolysis, but the catalyst is non-biodegradable and toxic. The metal oxide catalysts are also many well developed but these catalysts are toxic, corrosive and can cause severe pollution. More environmentally friendly catalysts such as sodium salt today began much developed to minimize the impact to the environment.

Abstract

Material surface characteristics are the main criteria to be considered in catalyst design. The surface area and catalyst porosity determine activity and selectivity in catalytic reactions. In this research, synthesis of cobalt oxide, calcium fluoride and calcium fluoride cobalt oxide has been done. Characterization of solid sufaces is analyzed by using Nitrogen Gas Adsorption Method. The surface area of solids is analyzed by using SBET and SBJH Methods. Identification of mesoporous both qualitative and quantitative is analyzed by using BJH Method. The result of synthetic solid shows the pattern of isotherm adsorption type IV which is typical for mesoporous material. Surface measurements show the presence of cobalt oxide on a catalyst support marked by decreasing surface area, pore size and pore volume of catalyst support material.

Abstract

Nutritional status is an important thing to consider during pregnancy, as it will significantly affect the development and growth of the fetus. Hence, maternalnutritional factors both before and during pregnancy account for the quality of newborn. Nutritional status of the pregnant women is assessed using mid-upper arm circumference determination, body weighing, and laboratory test. Undernutrition status in pregnant women needs immediate treatment due to the risk and complication for both mother and fetus such as anemia, bleeding, mother's weight does not grow normally, and infectious diseases. Furthermore, it may result in difficult and prolonged labor, preterm delivery, bleeding after delivery, and eventually cesarean delivery tends to increase. While the impact of malnutrition in pregnant women to the fetus that can affect the process of fetal growth and can lead to miscarriage, abortion, stillbirth, neonatal death, congenital defects, anemia, asphyxia intrapartum (dead in the uterus), infant low birth weight (LBW) (Fajrin, 2017). However, there are many pregnant women who have nutritional problems especially undernutrition or known as Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED). The results of the National Socio-Economic Survey (SUSENAS) 1999 showed that there were 27.6% of CED pregnant women is associated with LBW (Lubis, 2003 in Hanifa, 2009). Then, it also can cause premature and immatureLBW (Kusparlina, 2016).MostLBW infants in developing countries are affected by intrauterine growth restriction(IUGR)due to malnutrition, anemia, malaria and sexually transmitted disease (STD) before conception or during pregnancy. It was reported in 2016 that the cases of LBW were 879 infants (4,9%) from a total of 17,041 live births. While there was no significant difference between male and female infants were 429 out of 8,834 and 450 out of 8,207 respectively. Moreover, it was found in Bojonegorothat LBW is the highest cause of infant mortality compared to other causes such as asphyxia, birth trauma, infection, congenital abnormalities and others. Some risk factors that exist in pregnant women who will give birth to babies with LBW are pregnant women with CED, anemia, hypertension, and preeclampsia (DINKESKABBojonegoro, 2016).Infant mortality due to LBWslightly increased from 40%in 2015 to 41.48% in the following year then it is still increasing from year to year (DINKESKABBojonegoro, 2016).To our knowledge, there are no available data of the cause of LBW in Bojonegoro especially in the matter of the nutritional status of the pregnant women. So that the objective of the present study was to determine relationship between the nutritional status of the pregnant women and the prevalence of LBW.

Abstract

Corrosion that occurs in a gas flowline is a serious problem because it can cause leaks that lead to material loss and environmental pollution. The aims of this research were to analyze the corrosion occurred in gas flowline of carbon steel 5l Grade B and the effect of inhibitor TIC-8002 GCI to the corrosion rate of metal. This research was conducted using SEM-EDX to analyze and produce various types of metals and corrosion crust. Metals corrosion test and the effect of inhibitors on the corrosion rate of metals were carried out by linear polarization methods. The result of SEM-EDX showed that inner pipe surface occurred pitting corrosion caused by dissolved chloride ions in the electrolite that flows in the pipeline. The result of XRD showed that corrosion products of carbon steel were Fe2O3 and FeOOH. The result of linear polarization showed that the corrosion rate of steel about 0.642 mmy without using inhibitor. The addition of an inhibitor can reduce the corrosion rate in carbon steel. The increase in inhibitor concentration from 10 ppm to 50 ppm can reduce the corrosion rate from 0.633 mmy to 0.394 mmy along with an increase in inhibition efficiency from 1.32% to 38.6%.

Abstract

Batik Saqina Tamiang is one of the batik craftsmen in Bandar Khalifah Village, Aceh Tamiang Regency, the batik produced is generally patterned in Aceh. The production system at Batik Saqina Tamiang is a job order and make to stock. Batik work is done manually by the workers. The results of the initial survey found complaints of static muscle loading on the body parts of the workers which caused the production lead time to be longer. This complaint arises because the worker's posture is not ergonomic when making batik. This study aims to reduce static muscle loading through the design of work facilities. The research method used in this research is descriptive, while the steps in this study are conducting field surveys and literature studies related to static muscle loading. Then do the questionnaire distribution on the bodybody map to find out the complaints felt by the workers during their work. The next step is to assess the workers' body posture using the rapid entire body assessment (REBA) method and measure the anthropometric data of the workers that will be used in the design of work facilities and then implement the work facilities that have been designed. the pain of the worker from being very ill becomes a bit painful, which occurs in the neck, shoulders and wrist.
