This journal, with ISSN 2407-7348, was firstly published on April 21, 2015, in the context to commemorate the Kartini (Women Figure)’s Day in Indonesia. The SIPATAHOENAN journal has been organized by the Central Executive Board of APAKSI (Association of All Indonesian Sports’ Experts and Practitioners) in Bandung and supported by KEMENPORA RI (Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Indonesia) in Jakarta, since issue of April 2015 to date; and published by Minda Masagi Press, a publishing house owned by ASPENSI (the Association of Indonesian Scholars of History Education) in Bandung, West Java, Indonesia. The articles published in SIPATAHOENAN journal are able to be written in English as well as in Indonesian and Malay languages. The SIPATAHOENAN journal is published every April and October. The SIPATAHOENAN journal is devoted, but not limited to, youth education, sports education, health education, and any new development and advancement in the field of youth, sports, and health education. The scope of our journal includes: (1) Youth and Nation-State Development; (2) Sports and National Character Building; (3) Health and Human Resources Quality; (4) Youth Education and Nation-State in the Future; (5) Sports Education and Fighting Spirit of the Nation-State; (6) Health Education and Nation-State Tenacity; and (7) Youth, Sports, and Helath Education in the Context of Welfare State Development.

Abstract

INTISARI: Artikel ini membentangkan suatu kajian awal mengenai isu integrasi di antara dua kaum yang terbesar di Singapura, iaitu kaum Cina yang merupakan kaum majoriti dan dominan serta kaum Melayu, kaum asal di rantau ini, yang merupakan kaum minoriti di Singapura. Para sampel kajian ini terdiri dari 88 orang mahasiswa Cina dan Melayu yang belajar di sebuah universiti terkenal. Mereka memberi sambutan kepada satu set soal-selidik berstruktur dan terbuka yang ditubuhkan oleh pengkaji, khusus untuk menarik sambut- jawapan yang bersesuaian dengan tajuk. Data yang menarik dan terpendam telah dapat digali. Respons terhadap soal-selidik telah digunakan sebagai indikator petunjuk bagi darjah integrasi yang tercapai. Berdasarkan analisis data-data empiris tersebut, yang dikumpulkan didalam domain-domain lazim seperti sekitaran peribadi, keluarga, tempat kerja, serta perhubungan sosial dan politik, dapat dilihat sama ada integrasi telahpun berhasil. Konsep “buluh”, bukan “mosaik”, telah dikemukakan untuk menerangkan jenis integrasi yang diingini oleh kedua-dua masyarakat tersebut.KATA KUNCI: Melayu, integrasi, konsep “buluh”, minoriti, majoriti, Singapura, ranah keluarga, pekerjaan, sosial, dan politik.ABSTRACT: “Between Bamboo and Porridge: Integration of Malay Minority and Chinese Majority in Singapore in the Personal, Family, Workplace, Social, and Political Domains”. This paper brings to light a preliminary study on the issue of racial integration between two major ethnic groups in Singapore – the Chinese who are the largest and the dominant community and the Malays who are native to the region and the largest minority. The sample in this study consists of 88 Chinese and Malay undergraduates in a reputable university, who responded to a structured and open-ended questionnaire designed by the author to specifically elicit appropriate responses on the topic. Interesting and revealing data was obtained. Following analyses of the empirical data collected on familiar domains, such as the personal, family, workplace, social, and political spheres; the degree of integration as indicated by responses to the questionnaire was used as indicators of whether integration of the two communities had taken place. Abstract

INTISARI: Membicarakan cita-cita bangsa Indonesia tampaknya terasa klise dan seolah-olah berada di tengah-tengah lingkaran setan yang tidak berujung. Namun, sebagaimana amanat dan cita-cita perintis, pendiri, dan pejuang bangsa, maka semangat tidaklah boleh padam, apalagi menjadi pesimis dan apatis. Dokter Soetomo adalah seorang pemuda pendiri Budi Utomo pada tahun 1908, suatu organisasi sukarela modern yang memperjuangkan peningkatan harkat dan martabat masyarakat Jawa yang terjajah. Perjuangannya tidak hanya sebatas ranah politik dan sosial, melainkan juga merambah ke bidang ekonomi ketika beliau mendorong, menciptakan, dan meningkatkan kesejahteraan rakyat. Dari karya, kiprah, dan kinerja sosial-ekonominya tersirat visi dan gagasannya tentang pengembangan ekonomi. Visi ekonominya yang menarik dan signifikan untuk dikembangkan, dan relevan untuk keadaan masa kini, menyangkut persoalan kesejahteraan rakyat, moral ekonomi, dan modal sosial, sebagaimana yang dituangkannya dalam ungkapan “Indonesia Mulia”. Visi dokter muda Soetomo merupakan refleksi semangat dan kecenderungan perjuangan pada zamannya, yang berada di bawah belenggu kolonialisme Belanda untuk bangkit meraih dan mewujudkan cita-cita menjadi bangsa yang merdeka. KATA KUNCI: Dokter Soetomo, pemuda, visi dan gagasan, Indonesia mulia, kesejahteraan rakyat, moral ekonomi, modal sosial, dan bangsa yang merdeka.ABSTRACT: “Noble Indonesia: The Vision of Medical Doctor Soetomo on the People Welfare, Economic Moral, and Social Capital”. Talking about the ideals of the Indonesian people seem to feel cliche and as like as was in the middle of an endless vicious circle. However, as the mandate and ideals of pioneers, founders, and heroes of the nation-state, the spirit is not allowed to go out, let alone become pessimistic and apathetic. Medicine Docter Soetomo is a youth who was the founder of “Budi Utomo” (Noble Character) in 1908, a modern voluntary organization that struggled for the social emancipation of colonized Javanese people. His struggle was not restricted in political and social fields, but also in economics to encourage, create, and increase people’s welfare. From his works, activities, and achievements imply his vision and thoughts for developing economics. His interesting and important economic vision deals with social welfare, economic moral, and social capital issues, that formulated in an idea of Noble Indonesia or “Indonesia Mulia”. Abstract

ABSTRACT: Great attention to football is not only paid by adults, but also children. For children, football has even been their part of life; in other words, their world is incomplete without football. This condition shows that football, as a sport game, has been an important aspect among children. Children’s great interest in football has encouraged football lovers to help channel the interest by founding the Football Schools, or famous by the abbreviation of SSB (Sekolah Sepak Bola) in Indonesian context. The purpose of this research is to study the contribution of kinesthetic perception, adaptation, and agility to football skills. This research was conducted at the Football Schools in Bandung with a sample of 40 students selected randomly. The research has found that there were positive correlations between: (1) kinesthetic perception and football skills; (2) adaptation and football skills; (3) agility and football skills; and (4) kinesthetic perception, adaptation, and agility with football skills. The findings give an implication that football skills can be increased by improving kinesthetic perception, adaptation, and agility.KEY WORD: Football schools in Bandung, students, kinesthetic perception, adaptation, agility, football skills, and positive correlations.INTISARI: “Peranan Persepsi Kinestetik, Adaptasi, dan Kelincahan terhadap Keterampilan Sepakbola pada Siswa-siwa Sekolah Sepakbola di Kota Bandung”. Besarnya perhatian terhadap sepakbola tidak hanya dimiliki oleh orang-orang dewasa, tetapi juga anak-anak.  Bahkan bagi anak-anak, sepakbola telah menjadi bagian dari hidupnya; dengan kata lain, tidak ada dunia lain tanpa melakukan sepakbola. Keadaan ini menunjukkan bahwa sepakbola, sebagai olahraga permainan, telah menjadi agenda penting bagi kalangan anak-anak. Besarnya perhatian anak-anak terhadap sepakbola mendorong pencinta sepakbola untuk membantu menyalurkan keinginan tersebut dengan cara mendirikan Sekolah-sekolah Sepakbola, atau yang terkenal dengan singkatan SSB (Sekolah Sepak Bola) dalam konteks Indonesia. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mempelajari kontribusi persepsi kinestetik, adaptasi, dan kelincahan untuk keterampilan sepakbola. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Sekolah-sekolah Sepakbola di Bandung dengan sampel 40 siswa yang dipilih secara acak. Penelitian telah menemukan bahwa ada korelasi positif antara: (1) persepsi kinestetik dan keterampilan bermain sepakbola; (2) adaptasi dan keterampilan bermain sepakbola; (3) kelincahan dan keterampilan bermain sepakbola; serta (4) persepsi kinestetik, adaptasi, dan kelincahan dengan keterampilan bermain sepakbola. Abstract

INTISARI: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh bukti empiris dan fakta di lapangan berupa keterkaitan antara respon hormonal stress, dalam hal ini Kortisol Saliva, terhadap kecemasan dan konsentrasi berdasarkan kelompok siswa (tidak atau jarang berolahraga, olahraga beregu, dan olahraga individu). Dalam penelitian ini, populasi dan sampelnya adalah siswa SMA (Sekolah Menengah Atas) yang mempunyai potensi dan lengkap dari berbagai kegiatan ekstra-kurikuler, serta terpilih sekitar 80 orang siswa. Sampel kortisol saliva diambil sesuai dengan “protocol test” dari Elisa kit, yang bekerja sama dengan Laboratorium Prodia. Metode yang digunakan adalah “one shot case study”. Analisis yang digunakan adalah uji F-ANOVA dan Analisis Regresi pada p-value < 0.05. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan, hubungan, dan kontribusi, serta prediksi yang akurat dan signifikan antara respon kortisol, kecemasan, dan konsentrasi pada seluruh kelompok siswa yang jarang/tidak berolahraga, olahraga beregu, dan olahraga individu, dengan p-value yang berbeda-beda. Namun, bagi kelompok siswa yang berolahraga individu, hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan hal yang berlainan. KATA KUNCI: Kortisol saliva, kegiatan ekstra-kurikuler, tingkat kecemasan, konsentrasi, siswa sekolah menengah atas, dan antisipasi tindakan.ABSTRACT: “Cortisol Hormone Response toward Anxiety and Concentration: A Case Study on High School Students Who were Not Exercise, Team Sports, and Individual Sports”. This study aimed to obtain empirical evidence and real facts in the form of a link between hormonal response of stress, in this case is Saliva Cortisol, toward anxiety and concentration based on the groups of students (not or rarely exercise, team sports, and individual sports). In this study, the population and the sample are Senior High School students who have the potential and complete from various extra-curricular activities, and selected 80 students. Salivary cortisol samples were taken in accordance with the "protocol test" of Elisa kits, in cooperation with the Laboratory of Prodia. The method used is “one shot case study”. The analysis used was ANOVA F-test and Regression Analysis on the p-value < 0.05. The results showed that there are differences, relationships, and contributions, as well as the accurate prediction and significant correlation between cortisol response, anxiety, and concentration on the entire group of students who rarely/no exercise, team sports, and individual sports, with a p-value of different. Abstract

INTISARI: Sektor pertanian komersial sehingga kini masih kekurangan penglibatan golongan muda, terutamanya belia berpelajaran tinggi. Golongan muda ini diperlukan oleh negara untuk menaiktarafkan indusrti pertanian, memodenkan industri asas tani, dan memperbanyakkan lagi pekerja berkemahiran yang terlibat dalam sektor pertanian komersial. Persepsi negatif masyarakat terhadap sektor pertanian telah memberi kesan terhadap penglibatan belia dalam pertanian komersial. Persepsi negatif yang dimaksudkan ini adalah seperti kurangnya galakan daripada keluarga; kurang prosedur yang lengkap dalam membantu belia yang ingin melibatkan diri dalam sektor pertanian; serta kesukaran dalam mendapatkan bantuan, termasuklah sumber bantuan kewangan. Kesemua aspek ini menyumbang kepada kurangnya penglibatan belia dalam perniagaan pertanian secara komersial. Justeru, artikel ini mengupas sejarah industri pertanian di Malaysia dan penglibatan belia dalam industri ini. Pembangunan pertanian komersial di Malaysia dalam 50 tahun ini menampakkan kurangnya penglibatan belia, walaupun industri pertanian berupaya membuka prospek yang luas dalam ekonomi Malaysia. KATA KUNCI: Pertanian, usahawan, belia, perniagaan, industri, persepsi negatif, sejarah industri pertanian, dan ekonomi Malaysia.ABSTRACT: “Youth Involvement in Commercial Agriculture and the Development of Agriculture Industries in Malaysia”. Commercial agricultural sector in Malaysia until these days is still lack of young people, especially educated youth. This young workforce is needed by the Malaysian government in the process of improving the agricultural industry, modernizing agro-based industries, and developing skilled workers of the commercial agricultural sectors.  Negative perception towards agriculture sector has brought significant impact on the involvement of youths in commercial agriculture. The negative perceptions include lack of family and community encouragement; lack of complete procedure for the young people joining the industry; and difficulties to get technical assistance and financial supports. All these aspects contribute to the lack of youth involvement in commercial agriculture business. Hence, this article explores the history of commercial agriculture in Malaysia and youth involvement in the industry. Abstract

INTISARI: Pimpinan dan mahasiswa PTU (Perguruan Tinggi Umum) di Indonesia memiliki ekspektasi terhadap kompetensi Dosen PAI (Pendidikan Agama Islam). Kompetensi-kompetensi tersebut adalah: (1) Kompetensi keagamaan, seperti “ketaatan dalam beribadah” dan “aktivis keagamaan”; (2) Kompetensi kepribadian, yang dipandang penting untuk memiliki lima kebutuhan, seperti: kebutuhan prestasi, kebutuhan keteraturan, kebutuhan daya tahan, kebutuhan akan perubahan, dan kebutuhan kemandirian; (3) Kompetensi sosial, seperti bersifat empatik, aktif dalam kegiatan bermasyarakat, senang membantu kesusahan orang, mudah dihubungi di sembarang waktu dan tempat, serta hidup rukun dengan berbagai ras dan umat beragama; (4) Kompetensi profesi, seperti penguasaan Dosen PAI pada PTU terhadap Al-Qur’an, Al-Sunnah, ilmu-ilmu ke-Islam-an, memahami bahasa Arab tulisan, dan memahami prinsip-prinsip dasar agama lain; serta (5) Kompetensi pedagogik, seperti memahami manusia sebagai “makhluk pendidikan” dan “dapat dididik”, memahami prinsip-prinsip dasar kependidikan, menarik jika berbicara di depan umum, menguasai berbagai model dan metode perkuliahan, terampil melakukan evaluasi perkuliahan, serta menguasai teknologi informasi untuk pembelajaran.  KATA KUNCI: Kompetensi, dosen pendidikan agama Islam, ekspektasi, pimpinan dan mahasiswa, serta perguruan tinggi umum di Indonesia.ABSTRACT: “The Expectations of Public University’s Leaders and Students toward the Competences of Islamic Education Lecturers in Indonesia”. The public university’s leaders and students in Indonesia have had the expectations toward the lecturer’s competences of Islamic religious education. Abstract

INTISARI: Sejarah sebagai suatu peristiwa yang benar-benar terjadi di masa lalu adalah satu hal. Namun makna dan interpretasi terhadap peristiwa sejarah itu adalah hal lain lagi. Jika yang pertama berkenaan dengan kenyataan objektif dan hanya sekali terjadi; sedangkan yang terakhir merupakan kenyataan subjektif dan dapat diproduksi atau direproduksi untuk kepentingan pendidikan dalam arti luas. Pernyataan ini relevan untuk membahas dua peristiwa sejarah yang dinilai penting oleh bangsa Indonesia, yakni peristiwa Sumpah Pemuda pada tanggal 28 Oktober 1928 dan peristiwa Revolusi Kemerdekaan Indonesia pada tanggal 17 Agustus 1945. Makalah ini berusaha untuk menjelaskan, menafsir, dan memaknai dua peristiwa tersebut dalam perspektif pendidikan. Hal ini penting untuk disadari dan dikritisi bahwa sejarah tentang penulisan sejarah, atau historiografi, adalah wilayah tafsir terhadap realitas dan peristiwa sejarah yang sebenarnya. Masalah-masalah yang berkenaan dengan perspektif, kepentingan, kaedah penelitian, serta gayawacana sangat mempengaruhi produk akhir dari sebuah karya sejarah. Tafsir terhadap peristiwa sejarah, dengan demikian, juga bisa berbeda-beda sesuai dengan jiwa zamannya, sebagaimana ditunjukkan oleh masyarakat Indonesia, setelah merdeka sampai sekarang, ketika menafsir dan memaknai peristiwa Sumpah Pemuda 1928 dan Revolusi Kemerdekaan Indonesia 1945. ABSTRACT: “Interpreting the Events of Youth Pledge and Indonesian Independence Revolution in the Perspectives of Education”. History as an event that was actually happened in the past is one thing. But the meaning and interpretation of historical events are something else again. If the first thing is pertaining to the objective reality and only once occurred; whereas the latter thing is a subjective reality and can be produced or reproduced for educational purposes in a broad sense. This statement is relevant to discuss two historical events are considered important by Indonesian people, namely the events of Youth Pledge on October 28, 1928 and the Indonesian Revolution on August 17, 1945. This paper seeks to explain, interpret, and make sense of these two events in the perspectives of education. It is important to realize and criticized that the history of historical writing, or historiography, is a domain of interpretation towards the reality and actual historical events. Issues relating to the perspectives, interests, research methods, as well as mode of discourse affected greatly the final product of a historical work. Abstract

ABSTRACT: This study aims to identify the relationship and influence of coaching leadership style during the implementation of training program towards the satisfaction of student athletes. A total number of 206 student athletes from two sports school in Malaysia were selected using the simple random sampling method. This research is a non-experimental qualitative study using a survey method in order to answer the objectives and hypothesis. A set of questionnaire for measuring the LSS (Leadership Scale for Sport) and the ASQ (Athlete Satisfaction Questionnaire) were used for this study. Pearson Correlation and Multiple Regression were used to test the null hypothesis at significance level of p < 0.05, while SPSS program version 19 was used to analyze the data collected. The findings show that there is a positive and significant correlation (r = .586, p < .05) between the leadership style of coaching from all dimensions with athletes satisfaction. These findings also show that the training and instruction dimension is a significant dominant influence (β = .68, t(206) = 13,497, p < .05) for coaching leadership style of athlete satisfaction. As a result, the factors such as training and instruction dimension in coaching leadership style need to be addressed by trainer during the implementation of training program. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengenal pasti hubungan dan pengaruh gaya kepimpinan jurulatih semasa pelaksanaan program latihan terhadap kepuasan atlet pelajar. Seramai 206 orang atlet pelajar dari dua buah sekolah sukan di Malaysia telah dipilih dengan menggunakan pensampelan rawak mudah. Kajian ini adalah satu kajian kuantitatif bukan eksperimen dengan menggunakan kaedah tinjauan untuk menjawab objektif dan hipotesis kajian. Satu set borang soalselidik bagi LSS (Skala Kempimpinan dalam Sukan) dan ASQ (Soalselidik Kepuasan Atlet) digunakan dalam kajian ini. Analisis statistik inferensi seperti Korelasi Pearson dan Regresi Pelbagai digunakan untuk menguji sembilan hipotesis nol pada aras signifikan p < 0.05. Program yang digunakan untuk menganalisis data adalah program SPSS versi 19. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan terdapat hubungan yang positif dan signifikan (r = .586, p < .05) antara gaya kepimpinan jurulatih dari semua dimensi dengan kepuasan atlet. Dapatan kajian juga menunjukkan dimensi latihan dan arahan merupakan pengaruh dominan yang signifikan (β = .68, t(206) = 13.497, p < .05)  bagi gaya kepimpinan jurulatih terhadap kepuasan atlet. Abstract

ABSTRACT: One of the approaches often used by athletes in order to improve psychological ability is self-talk. Self-talk is the internal language of self. Psychologist states that self-talk can influence factors such as confidence, enthusiasm, diligence, concentration, and strength, as well as reduce anxiety. The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of positive self-talk on performance among futsal players in University of Putra Malaysia. All of the eight respondents were males age between 21–24 (22.13 ± 1.13) years of age, who agreed to participate in this qualitative study. Each of the subject agreed to be interviewed and to have their interview sessions recorded using an audio recorder. For the data interpretation, each of the recording was transcribed and coded by three researchers to determine the main themes of the attributes of self-talk among futsal players. As a result, there are five main themes that were generated from the whole interviews, namely: motivation, focus, effort (hard work), anxiety control, and encouragement. As a conclusion, the main effect of using self-talk among university futsal players is not only to increase motivation, encouragement, and anxiety control, but also to gain the spirit of hard work and improve focusing. Salah satu pendekatan yang kerap digunakan oleh ahli sukan untuk meningkatkan keupayaan psikologi adalah kata kendiri. Kata kendiri adalah bahasa dalaman diri. Ahli psikologi menyatakan bahawa kata kendiri boleh mempengaruhi faktor-faktor seperti keyakinan, semangat, ketekunan, tumpuan, dan kekuatan, serta juga mengurangkan keresahan. Tujuan kajian ini adalah untuk mengkaji kesan kata kendiri secara positif terhadap prestasi dalam kalangan pemain futsal di Universiti Putra Malaysia. Kesemua lapan responden adalah lelaki berumur antara 21-24 (22.13 ± 1.13) tahun, yang bersetuju untuk mengambil bahagian dalam kajian kualitatif ini. Setiap seorang daripada subjek bersetuju untuk ditemubual dan sesi temubual mereka dirakam menggunakan perakam audio. Untuk tafsiran data, setiap rakaman disalin dan dikodkan oleh tiga penyelidik untuk menentukan tema utama berkenaan kata kendiri di kalangan pemain futsal. Hasilnya, terdapat lima tema utama yang dihasilkan daripada keseluruhan temubual, iaitu: motivasi, fokus, usaha (bekerja keras), kawalan kebimbangan, dan galakan.
