Abstract

Pathogenic nematodas are widespread in nature, it can attack plants, animals, and humans and cause disruption to their hosts, then effect to lower quantity of plantation, yields, and livestock production and also affect to degradation of human resource quality. This paper is a systematic review that uses literature method about the inventory of nematoda parasite that attacks plants, animals and human, some method of examination and the effects that occurred by the host. The major parasite nematodas that infect the plants are Meloidogyne sp, Pratylenchut sp, and Radopholus sp., nematode in animals are Strongyloides spp., Haemonchus spp., Oesophagosomum spp., and Trichostrongyloides spp. In the fish variant, Anisakis spp, and nematode in humans are Ascaris lumbricoides, Trichuris trichiura, and hookworm. Some animal nematodas were found to attack humans whereas plant nematodas have not been reported to be found in humans or animals. Nematoda control is by anthelmintic consumption, environmental modification, personal hygiene and the use of biological agents.

Abstract

Organic waste of public market is one of the problems that greatly impact public health. The technology of processing public market waste into compost is a very good alternative, yet how long does it take, to process into compost and any nutrient contained requires research on this matter, as well as its application to plants, in this case, agarwood. The method used in this study was the experimental method with the old treatment of compost formation, as well as its application to agarwood plant using a completely randomized design (CRD). The results showed that 28 days of composting contained nutrients in the form of ions which were more easily absorbed by plants compared to nutrient content at duration 7 days. This is supported by the application of compost, where the addition of compost is very influential on the height of agarwood. As such, compost from organic ingredients is very well applied to agarwood plant.

Abstract

One of the biggest challenges in coal mining activities is the successful management of degraded land through post-mining revegetation activities in accordance with applicable regulations. An easy way to assess the success of revegetation can be done with the approach of the physical properties of the soil. This study aims to evaluate post-mining revegetation land management by analyzing soil physical properties in the form of permeability and bulk density associated with plant growth. The research method was carried out by taking a predetermined sample in the plot area with a size of 20 x 20 m in each revegetation land planted with three depths are 0-20 cm, 20-40 cm, and 40-60 cm. The results showed that the success of revegetation land showed a positive increase where the growth of Acacia mangium plant height had reached 56.5% and the growth of the stem diameter of the plants had reached 53.8% when compared with the same plant type on the original revegetation land (HTI) according with the physical properties of the soil in the form of permeability which shows an increase and bulk density which shows a decrease approaching the value of the HTI land conditions. Thus, the success of post-mining land revegetation can be determined by the physical properties of the soil that affect the growth of the plant.

Abstract

Zoning   Level  of Flood Susceptibility   in Banjarbaru City, South Kalimantan. This research aims to formulate  the control guide line  of flood susceptibility  in Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan   Province.  The goal is ac hieved through thest ages of study as follows:  1. Analyzing the characteristics  of Banjarbaru  City consisting of a) the use of land; b) rain fall; c) physical characteristics  of land (infiltration); and d) on steepness,  2.  Conducting  the zoning level of flood susceptibility  in Banjarbaru  City, and 3.Producing a chart of flood susceptibility for Banjarbaru  City. This research applies descriptive   method that consists of data gathering,  data processing  and data analysis. Determining  the high suspectibility  of flood  is done by weighting  indicators  of flood through  the closing   of land, the rain intensity,  the physical  characteristics   of  land (infiltration),  and the tilt of slope. uper weighting, classification  of flood  susceptibility  is carried out. Thecategory of level is done by multiplying  variable values with the variable weight.    Of fload  susceptibilityis divided  into four  categories: very fragile, ,fragile,  somewhat  fragile,  and not fragile. This research results flood  susceptibility  zoning level that aims to identify the areas that are fragile  to flood,  so this region can be analysed to prevent  and handle flood. Based on the result of data collection ,data processing  and data analysis, it can be  concluded   that:  1) based  on  the  results   of  the  analysis   toward   the flood susceptibility  variable,  it  can be concluded  that the cause of flood  susceptibility  in Banjarbaru  City is the change in the landuse because it has great weight beside the topography  of the area. Banjarbaru  City also has the tilt tendency  to beflat (0-8%), so the water from a higher place then will gather in this area. 2) Based on flood susceptibility  zoning level in Banjarbaru  City ,it is discovered  that an area of 16,810 hectares  or 51% of Banjarbaru  City's  width is located  in the level of somewhat fragile,  then an area of 13,118 hectares or 40% is not fragile  and 3,156 hectares or 9% is fragile to flood. 3) The chart of fload  susceptibility  in Banjarbaru  City has shown that almost all parts of areas in Banjarbaru  City are zones with high flood  susceptibility level with the criteria of not fragile ,somewhat fragile and fragile.

Abstract

The potential Fish Auction Place in the fish port of Muara Kintap is expected to become the center of economic growth and development of fisheries. The existence of the facility is an input to the process of the function implementation in Fish Auction Place which condition is related to its availability and number in the fish port. The facilities which are managed optimally will produce the optimum output anyway. This study aimed to identify the presence of TPI in the central area of the Muara Kintap in Kecamatan Tanah Laut which has the potential to be developed. This study uses descriptive qualitative research and literature survey.  Based on the survey results, it was revealed that the condition of Fish Auction Place (TPI) in the fish port of Muara Kintap in Kecamatan Tanah Laut did not implement a pure  auction, it was due to the basic facilities, unwell maintained functional and supporting tools, and also due to the collaboration of some merchants in controlling prices. Several attempts to optimize Fish Auction Place (TPI) including the addition of supporting facilities, such as clean water, cool boxes, scales and carts/baskets as well as banks as partners in financial institutions to access capitals for a business group of fishermen. The comfortable condition of loading and unloading activities, as well as sanitation and hygiene, really needs to be fulfilled, including the revitalization of the fish fleet. Ideally, in every region of fishery activities in a fishermen concentration area, a fish port should be built, or at least fish hauling with clean Fish Auction Unit, to meet the requirements of the integrated quality program so that the selling prices of fish caught by fishermen con be rewarded appropriately. SWOT analysis results  indicated that strategy chosen was the S - O (Strengths – Opportunities) which utilized all power of Muara Kintap Fish Port to take advantage of development opportunities as much as possible.

Abstract

The value of vegetation for the community and the environment shows by the criteria of comfort and economic values that can be estimated. Sultan Suriansyah tomb tourist area located on the Kuin riverbank has vegetation that value as shade and aesthetics. Vegetation value in this area needs to be assessed to find out its ecological and economic values. Valuation of tree vegetation is conducted in two methods, the valuation of Convenience using the Thermal Humidity Index (THI) method and the stored Carbon Valuation method. Valuation of Vegetation shows that tree vegetation in the tourist area of the tomb of Sultan Suriansyah Kuin Banjarmasin is not good enough. This is based on the value of the resilience with HTI (>26) categorized as uncomfortable. Furthermore, the average value of carbon stored per day for one tomb area is still low.
