Abstract

Karang Taruna (Youth Organization) becomes the hope for development resources in all aspects of the village. The village economic development needs to be directed towards the independence in order to be sustainable. Land resources that are productive but have not been utilized are potential to be the capital for the village economic independence development. The available land is used by Karang Taruna to be made as Vegetable and Fruit Gardens. The management of village’s Vegetable and Fruit Gardens has not been optimal yet. Thus, efforts in optimizing it need to be taken. The goal of community empowerment is to optimize the role of Karang Taruna of Keboan Anom Village and to develop the Vegetable and Fruit Gardens to achieve village economic independence. The community empowerment program is carried out in stages, namely socialization, training on processing food products, digital marketing workshops, and financial management. The results of community empowerment show that processed vegetables and fruit products having high economic value are produced as the source of income for Karang Taruna and as the additional income for Keboan Anom Village, the information technology-based marketing (digital marketing) models is well-understood, and the organizational financial management is good.

Abstract

Aisyiyah Busthanul Athfal Kindergarten (TK ABA) is a pre-primary educational institution established by the Muhammadiyah foundation, which is expected to create quality future generations in terms of formal, religious, and social education. In managing a kindergarten institution, a management system and adequate human resources are needed in terms of skills such as information technology (IT) skills. The purpose of the community service activities carried out is to introduce IT skills to the teachers of TK ABA Ponggalan, Giwangan. These community service activities were carried out by providing 4-meetings, computer training, and introduction to computer applications that are important in learning management at TK ABA. The results of data analysis showed that 83.33% of teachers had never received formal or non-formal IT training. The evaluation of community service activities shows that 100% of teachers are satisfied with the training provided. The aspect with the lowest level of satisfaction is related to the adequacy of the material provided in the training because it is still at the introductory level. Through the service activities carried out, it can be concluded that providing IT training for teachers of TK ABA is essential in supporting the management and learning at TK ABA Ponggalan, Giwangan. This, of course, can increase the trust of parents and the interest of prospective students in schools, which indirectly affects school income and welfare.

Abstract

MTs Mambaul Ulum that has been founded in academic year of 2019/ 2020 should be responsive and adaptive towards the development dynamics of Education field. The use of information technology in Education field has to be anticipated and prepared by teachers, students, and educational workers. The key of success in accommodating the advancement of the era is determined by strong motivation from all components especially teachers. Therefore, the goal of the service program is directed to grow the motivation of teachers in the effort to improve Education quality in Mts Mambaul Ulum. The program implementation was conducted in stages, namely problem identification, program socialization, motivation seminar for students, teachers, parents/ guardian, leaders of the Foundation, and school environment. The result of the social service activity is the growing of strong motivation in all components, and stakeholders can build the relation harmonization among all components towards quality Education in the digital era.

Abstract

Public understanding of the use of drugs that are not true can cause new health problems. This empowerment activity aims to increase people’s understanding on medicine. This activity was conducted at SD Muhammadiyah Demangan Yogyakarta. The activities were conducted in stages, including joint program planning, tutorials (lectures), practice of recognizing and understanding medicine, mentoring, and recitation on understanding medicine. The main topic of discussion is knowledge about medicine, then added knowledge about healthy snacks, vitamins and their benefits for the body, as well as the role of the pharmacist profession in pharmaceutical services. The results of this service show an increase in the understanding of elementary school students about the use of drugs, healthy snacks, vitamins and their functions for the body as well as knowledge related to the pharmacist profession. There were 26 students of the 30 students who participated in the drug use assistance whose posttest scores improved compared to the pretest scores.

Abstract

Disasters caused both by nature or non-nature, have a negative impact on human life. The impact of a disaster can be minimized with the alertness of officers or volunteers during the emergency response. Muhammadiyah through Muhammadiyah Disaster Management Center (MDMC) has actively participated in risk reduction and disaster management. MDMC has thousands of volunteers from central to regional level, so there are always volunteers ready when a disaster occurs somewhere, both domestically and abroad. The volunteers that number in the thousands have unequal abilities and skills in managing disaster. Community service programs were implemented with the aim of narrowing the gaps in knowledge and skills of volunteers in disaster management. The disaster volunteer empowerment program was implemented at MDMC Koordinasi Area Magelang Barat (Koarmabar) or West Magelang Area Coordination. The program implementation was conducted using tutorial methods, group discussions, practices, disaster management simulations, evaluation, and post- program knowledge development assistance. The results of the implementation of the disaster volunteer empowerment program illustrate that the knowledge and skills of volunteers in disaster management have increased. The volunteers understand and are skilled in conducting triage, evacuation, transportation and trauma healing.

Abstract

Children are an investment in a nation, which must be made to optimize their physical and spiritual health. Optimization of children’s health must be done holistically since the child is in the womb. This community service was carried out to increase the knowledge, motivation, and skills of pregnant women in realizing healthy and smart mothers and children. The method of this activity was carried out with the stages of education, empowerment, and mentoring. The target of this activity was pregnant women. The form of the activities was community-based in collaboration with the village government of Pangkah Village, Karangdadap Sub-district, Pekalongan District, and Puskesmas (Public health center) Karangdadap. The education for pregnant women was given once a month, including spiritual hypnotherapy relaxation, stimulating the baby’s intelligence, and exclusive breastfeeding. This activity was attended by 21 pregnant women and lasted for five months. The results obtained are 1) 17 people (81%) have good knowledge of brain booster, relaxation, and proper breastfeeding, and 19 people (91%) have a strong motivation in applying the three skills; 2) Mothers can do spiritual relaxation hypnotherapy during pregnancy, and; 3) Mothers can practice stimulating their baby’s intelligence from the womb with the brain booster method.

Abstract

Learning evaluation can provide opportunities for teachers to make plans and estimations, whether the predetermined goals will be achieved according to the planned target time. If based on the data from the evaluation results it is estimated that the goal will not be achieved as planned, the teacher would try to find the factors causing the problems found, and provide solutions to the problems. The corona pandemic period really needs an online learning and evaluation process, the use of web-based applications will be able to provide assistance to teachers who can quickly assess learning evaluations on teaching materials as well as make time efficiency. The method of making an application is by Rapid Application Development (RAD) or rapid prototype; it is a model for developing a software system with a tiered pattern. The main thing used is a tool in the form of a web-based learning evaluation application resembling an application that can carry out evaluations related to a certain exam process as a trial during entry data training of all existing subjects by the teacher concerned with the authority as a teacher, scheduling and instructor arrangement by the principal, and finally student entry by the operator. Each application a different task according to its function.
