Abstract

The generator is the main component for a wind power plant.  The Horizontal Axis Wind Turbine (HAWT) is one of electric power plants types which has a horizontal axis. The plant is suitable to be operated in areas that have a fairly large wind speed. The low-speed HAWT generator can be designed using a permanent magnet.  This paper compares the coil design of the stator generator which has 12 poles arranged in 3 phases, and the rotor part consists of 24 Neodymium (NdFeB) type permanent magnets. Based on analytical studies, the design of generator windings is varied by 3 turns and 6 turns. The tests has been carried out for  100rpm - 1000rpm generator rotation. The research conclusions are recommendations to reduce 0.5 times the rotation and at 3 times the winding in obtaining optimal performance. DOI : https://doi.org/10.26905/jeemecs.v2i1.2718

Abstract

Abstract— In this research has been done the design and implementation of microstrip antenna for WiMAX application working on a frequency of 2.3 GHz, with the size of 5 x 5 cm and generate the appropriate parameter regulation WiMAX Dirjenpostel [1]. The method used i.e. square patch, proximity coupled feeding and modified slot on the antenna ground. Its design stages, namely to determine the initial size of the antenna, simulation, and optimization. Occurs the difference measurement results and simulations that are caused by factors of fabrication and measurement methods are not ideal. The difference in those results i.e. increase the gain of 6.8634 dB or increased 363.79% (simulated results 1.8866 dB, measurement results 8.75 dB), decrease the bandwidth of 36 MHz (from 131 MHz be 95 MHz). For differences in the VSWR of 0.1258 and the input impedance of 3,666 Ω it can still be tolerated and the radiation pattern produced is identical. Abstract

At present, a controlling system of the fluid flow measurement is needed in industrial processes. Determination of the water quantity is also used to reduce the volume of water usage in the holding tank varies. The effort to overcome this problem has made using a system for regulating performances while a water flow based on the tank volume controlled using a PID system. This system uses a flow sensor to detect the water speed, an electric ball valve as an actuator. In principles, this tool is used to stabilize the output water speed per minute at a predetermined set point. This study is focused in five designed method comparison in associated with a water level without control, standard PID method, PID-Auto tuning method Matlab, PID-FA method, and ANFIS-PID-FA method. The results of the PID-FA training data are used as an input from ANFIS. From the simulation, it is also found that five control models have different performances while the ANFIS-PID-FA model is performed in the best control model. Abstract

The level of coconut maturity can be determined by not only observing its shell color but also by applying audio recognition approach from knocking on coconut shell. This knocking sound distinguishes young, fairly mature, and mature coconut. Recognizing the sound characteristic of knocking on coconut is usually performed by the skilled ones who are having extensive experiences and sound sensitiveness of coconut knocking. In order to substitute the skilled ones, the design of coconut maturity prediction device with acoustic frequency detection is invented. The coconut sound signal is tapped by stethoscope which is connected to MAX9814 noise sensor. Arduino Due micro-controller is used to process the signal. The process in processing the signal consists of: conversing analog signal to digital, screening the signal, and finding the average value of sound signal frequency spectrum. The signal screening uses bandpass digital filter, type IIR (Infinite Impulse Response) Elliptic order 7. This filter is utilized in order that the signal that is being processed is not some noise but the signal of knocking sound on coconut. The calculation of average value of sound signal frequency spectrum uses FFT (Fast Fourier Transform) analysis. The maturity prediction is carried out using the classification method of Naive Bayes. The input is three average value of knocking sound frequency and coconut size, and the output is classification of coconut maturity. Abstract

Internet is a primary requirement in this modern era because it is one of the information’s media and communication. Due to its rapid advancement, internet is now a main infrastructure which must be possessed by an organization, institution (education, government, service provider and others). Besides internet, other infrastructure which is also a primary requirement in an institution is a centralized storage or server. Regarding internet’s availability and server, PT Indonesia Terbit Media faces some setbacks such as the unavailability of sufficient bandwidth management and unavailability of centralized information storage. To solve those setbacks, a MikroTik router is offered to be implemented in the company’s network. Before doing research, observation is held in the company to gather information’s regarding current network. Along with observation, focus group discussion is held with the staffs. After information’s are gathered, current network is analyzed then a new topology is proposed. After the proposal is approved, testing phase is initiated to know the contributions of newly proposed network in solving the mentioned setbacks. Results from the implementation are such as bandwidth management is applied in new network which is resulting in stable internet’s speed even though a user is downloading a quite large file and Ubuntu-based centralized server.DOI : https://doi.org/10.26905/jeemecs.v2i1.2928
