Abstract

Abstract The purpose of the study was to describe students' mathematical creative thinking abilities based on different levels of Habits of Mind (HoM). This research was a qualitative descriptive study. The research subjects consisted of one student with a moderate level of HoM and one student with a low level of HoM. Both subjects were in VII grade of junior high school. Data collection was carried out using the HoM questionnaire technique, open ended tests on geometry, and interviews. The results showed that the highest criteria of creative thinking that met by students with moderate levels of HoM were fluency and flexibility, but did not meet the novelty criteria. While students with low levels of HoM do not meet all the criteria of creative thinking. Keywords: creative thinking ability, habits of mind, open ended, geometry

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between beliefs about mathematics and mathematics pedagogical content knowledge possessed by mathematics teachers on the ratio material and explanations of prospective teachers' mathematics pedagogic content based on the beliefs about mathematics drawn. This research used by Mixed Method. With a sample of 31 students who took micro teaching courses. from the sample, each subject who has a view on instrumentalist, platonic, and problem-solving mathematics is selected. Data were collected by presenting beliefs, mathematics pedagogical content knowledge tests, and interviews. Statistical data analysis by using rank-spearman correlation test. The results of research showed that there was no relationship between beliefs about mathematics and mathematics pedagogical content knowledge of prospective mathematics teachers. Prospective teachers mathematics who have a view of instrumentalist and problem solving mastered almost all indicators that exist in the component of mathematics pedagogical content knowledge. Meanwhile, prospective teachers mathematics who have a view of platonic have almost not mastered all the indicators that exist in the component of mathematics pedagogical content knowledge.

Abstract

Abstract Mathematical modelling is an alternative that can be used by student in term of contextual problem solving. The aim of this studi is to analyze about student’s mathematical modelling to solve the contextual problem based on their math ability. This research is a descriptive research by using kualitative method. There are some steps in doing this research, , they are: 1) preparing research instrument, , that is math ability test, contextual problem solving test, and interview guide, 2) validation the instrument test end interview guide, 3) instrument trials, 4)research implemntation, 5) data analysis, 6) data triangulation, and 7) conclusion. Based on the research result, there are three steps of student’s ability, i.e , high, medium, and low. The ability of these there student’s show that there are differences in solving contextual problems using mathematical modelling. Keywords: Mathematical modelling, contextual problem solving Abstrak Pemodelan matematika merupakan salah satu alternatif yang dapat digunakan oleh siswa dalam pemecahan masalah kontekstual. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk menganalisis tentang pemodelan matematika siswa dalam pemecahan masalah kontekstual berdasarkan kemampuan matematika. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Tahapan dalam peneltian ini meliputi: (1) penyiapan instrumen penelitian berupa tes kemampuan matematika, tes pemecahan masalah kontekstual dan pedoman wawancara, (2) validasi instrumen tes dan pedoman wawancara, (3) uji coba instrumen, (4) pelaksanaan penelitian, (5) analisis data, (6) triangulasi data, dan (7) penarikan kesimpulan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diperoleh tiga kemampuan siswa yaitu tinggi, sedang, dan rendah. Kemampuan ketiga siswa tersebut menunjukan bahwa terdapat perbedaan dalam memecahkan masalah kontekstual menggunakan pemodelan matematika. Abstract

Entering the life of the industrial revolution 4.0, high-level abilities must be possessed by every student including the ability to think critically in mathematics. Developing and improving students' mathematical critical thinking skills requires a learning model that can provide flexibility for students to develop ideas by relating students' real lives. The learning model that relates the real life of students in the learning process is the realistic mathematics education learning model. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the realistic mathematics education learning model on the mathematical critical thinking skills of junior high school students. This type of research is a quasi-experimental research with a pretest-posttest control group design in class VIII SMP Negeri 9 Baubau as many as 2 classes consisting of 1 experimental class and 1 control class. Sampling using purposive sampling technique. Data were analyzed using t-test analysis. The results showed: (1) the realistic mathematics education learning model had an effect on increasing students' mathematical critical thinking skills; (2) the realistic mathematics education learning model has a better effect than conventional learning models on increasing the mathematical critical thinking skills of junior high school students.

Abstract

Abstract COVID-19 is a concern in several countries because the rate of spread is fast enough to cause many deaths. COVID-19 is a disease caused by SARS-Cov-2. In this study, the SARS-Cov-2 activation rate was estimated using the Kalman Filter. The SARS-Cov-2 activation rate is the rate of change of the exposed class (Exposed) who completed the incubation period into the infected class (Infected). The spread of the COVID-19 disease was approached by the SEIR mathematical model. The SARS-Cov-2 activation rate is a parameter of SEIR's mathematical model of COVID-19 spread. The simulation results show that the SARS-Cov-2 activation rate in East Java in October 2021 is 0.563. The RMSE value that indicates the level of accuracy of the estimation process is 0,08. Keywords: COVID-19, Parameter Estimation, Kalman Filter, East Java Abstrak COVID-19 menjadi perhatian di beberapa negara karena tingkat penyebarannya cukup cepat hingga mengakibatkan banyak kematian. COVID-19 merupakan penyakit yang disebabkan oleh virus SARS-Cov-2. Pada penelitian ini, tingkat aktivasi SARS-Cov-2 diestimasi menggunakan Kalman Filter. Tingkat aktivasi SARS-Cov-2 adalah tingkat perubahan individu terpapar (Exposed) yang selesai masa inkubasi dan masuk ke dalam kelas yang terinfeksi (Infected). Penyebaran penyakit COVID-19 didekati dengan model matematika SEIR. Tingkat aktivasi SARS-Cov-2 merupakan parameter dari model matematika penyebaran COVID-19 SEIR. Hasil simulasi menunjukkan bahwa tingkat aktivasi SARS-Cov-2 di Jawa Timur pada Oktober 2021 bernilai 0,563. Tingkat keakuratan proses estimasi ditunjukkan melalui nilai RMSE sebesar 0,08. Abstract

This research aims to describe the academic procrastination of mathematics education students at FKIP Undana. It includes scores and categories of academic procrastination both generally and based on its indicators. The method used is descriptive quantitative. The population were all students of Mathematics Education Study Program FKIP Undana (N = 423) with sample of 266 students who were selected by simple random sampling. The instrument used is the Student Academic Procrastination Scale. The results showed that generally the academic procrastination of mathematics education students was identified in the moderate category with percentage of 47.37% and average score of 45.55. The percentage of students who experience academic procrastination in the high category is 19.17% and very high is 7.52%. The results also found that most of the students' academic procrastination was identified in the moderate category for 4 indicators, namely time management (37.59%), intention-action gap (41.73%), perceived-ability (60.53%), and social disturbance (50.00%). Furthermore, it is found that more than 20% students were identified to experience academic procrastination in high and very high category for the four indicators. On the indicator of emotional distress, most of the students had academic procrastination in the very high (5.26%), high (35.34%), and moderate (20.68%) category. Abstract

Abstract The PMRI approach is used to produce a learning path that can help students add and subtract fractions through the kaplet context in grade VII. Design research type validation studies is a research method that starts with the Hypothetical Learning Trajectory (HLT). This study involved 32 students of class VII SMP PGRI Pagaralam which were divided into 6 students in the pilot experiment and 26 students in the teaching experiment. A series of activities generated through the learning trajectory includes activities such as cutting and taking kaplet from their shells and solving problems with addition and subtraction of fractions. In each of these activities, students are involved in finding the concepts of addition and subtraction of fractions in the context of the kaplet. The results showed that the use of the kaplet context through the PMRI approach gave meaning to student learning because students were helped in finding the concepts of addition and subtraction of fractions so that students were able to solve problems related to addition and subtraction of fractions in the real world. Keywords: Design Research, PMRI, Kaplet Abstrak Pendekatan PMRI digunakan dalam menghasilkan lintasan belajar yang dapat membantu siswa untuk menjumlahkan dan mengurangkan pecahan melalui konteks kaplet di kelas VII. Design research type validation studies merupakan metode penelitian yang dimulai dari adanya Hypothetical Learning Trajectory (HLT). Dalam penelitian ini melibatkan sebanyak 32 siswa kelas VII SMP PGRI Pagaralam yang terbagi menjadi 6 siswa pada pilot experiment dan 26 siswa pada teaching experiment. Serangkaian aktivitas yang dihasilkan melalui lintasan belajar meliputi aktivitas-aktivitas seperti memotong dan mengambil kaplet dari cangkangnya serta menyelesaikan masalah penjumlahan dan pengurangan pecahan. Pada setiap aktivitas tersebut, siswa dilibatkan untuk menemukan konsep penjumlahan dan pengurangan pecahan dengan konteks kaplet. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan konteks kaplet melalui pendekatan PMRI memberikan kebermaknaan dalam belajar siswa karena siswa menjadi terbantu dalam menemukan konsep penjumlahan dan pengurangan pecahan sehingga siswa mampu untuk menyelesaikan masalah-masalah yang berkaitan dengan penjumlahan dan pengurangan pecahan dalam dunia nyata.
