Abstract

The objective of Social Science learning in Junior High School (SMP/MTs) is tomake the students the good citizens. For that reason, Social Science learning isnot only the transfer of knowledge but also the transfer of values. Thus, theassessment of learning should pertain to cognitive, affective and psychomotoraspects. To achieve the goal, the learning model should be contextual orContextual Teaching and Learning (CTL), meaning that learning material shouldbe related to surrounding environment. For Surakarta City, surroundingenvironment becoming local wisdom and source of Social Science learning isBengawan Solo. For Social Science learning, Bengawan Solo can be studiedfrom Historical, Geographical, Economic and Sociological aspects. Abstract

Indonesia is a large archipelago that contains population numbering more than 250million people, a number that makes Indonesia one of the most populous countriesin the world. These large number imply that significant culture, ethnic, religiousand linguistic diversity. Indonesia's national spirit Bhinekka Tunggal Ika (Unity inDiversity) refers to the variety in the country's internal composition but alsoindicates that despite all differences in its multicultural society there is a true senseof unity (Indonesianness) among the people of Indonesia. Strengthening this spiritthrough political communication is very important in ASEAN Community.ASEAN Community as product of new regionalism give an opportunity for eachcountry to promote its potency narrowing development gap. One of the pillars ofASEAN Community, ASEAN Socio-Culture Community can be an opportunity fornational identity of Indonesia. As an opportunity, culture, ethnic, religious andlinguistic diversity of Indonesia that be strengthened by state philosophy Pancasilaas means national identity. Political communication is an integral parts ofIndonesia people daily life that crucial influence on the political socialisation ofthe individual. Political communication is a one way to strengthen relation betweengovernment and people. Indonesia, need to promote unity in diversity amongcountries in Southeast Asia. Its consequently, first, developing of modern relationsand coomunications, specially, in ASEAN Community should be determined bythe rise of communication and information technology namely social media. Abstract

The development of human resource potential which requires a maximum set of supporters. Not onlythe economic and political stability but also support social elements. The continent of Africa in particularWest African region is an area that is composed of different cultures or different religions. Not onlyChristian and muslim relations but today is precisely coupled with strife Wahhabism that trigger strifewith sunni and Shia and more. The challenges faced by tribes or Nations in the West African countriesis also related to diversity. This paper will discuss the African community in developing their potentialfor the sake of development of the country. The method used is a research library with chaos theory as aframework for analysis. The results showed that West African countries with a high potential of resourcesbut have a tenuous bond between culture and tribal practices are high it is difficult to develop existingresources to the maximum.Keyword: west africa, multiculturalism, human resources development, religious affairs.

Abstract

Multiculturalism include ideas, perspectives, policies, attitudes and actions by thediverse communities in terms of ethnicity, culture, religion, ideology and so forth;however aspires to develop the spirit of the same nationality and have pride to maintainplurality. It has two characteristics, namely the need for recognition and legitimacy ofcultural diversity. Multicultural society is a society that understands diversity in the lifeof the world and accept their diversity, such as: values, systems, culture, customs, andpolitical embraced. Leaders need to understand this diversity in creating a multiculturalorganization.In building a multicultural organization, leaders can use habituation andmodels, as well as education . Multicultural organizations can eliminate prejudice,improve the performance of members, optimize the potential of its members, and is ableto develop a family atmosphere to achieve long-term goals. The success of building amulticultural organization indicated internalized the existing programs thoroughly onevery member of the organization. Abstract

Multiculturalism in Indonesia can be considered not only as the ancestor’s heritage thatshould be preserved but should also be the main asset in the attempt of nation building.However, incapability of optimizing multiculturalism can be largest constraint that foilsthe achievement of development objective. In this case, legal culture becomes the mainkey to utilizing multiculturalism as the main key to development. Legal culture made as apart of Indonesian legal system will make the society feels being the part of the law itselfand willing to implement the rules of law contained because it is the law that had beeninstitutionalized in the society’s social life previously. The quality of legal culture highlydetermined the law enforce in Indonesia; for that reason the better the integration of legalculture into legal system in Indonesia, the better will be the quality of law enforcement,because basically through a good legal culture, the individual law enforcers will havehigh legal culture that will implement all rules of law without the will to break itoccurring frequently so far. A high-quality legal culture will make judicature a legalprocess that prioritizing justice enforcement, law certainty, justice, social benefit, andsocial empowerment through the judge’s verdict.

Abstract

To find out the verification of civil case and criminal case in Republic ofIndonesia’s Law No.11 of 2008 about Information and Electronic Transaction.Conclusions: (1) in civil case using electronic evidence, the evidence that islegitimate and can be revealed in the verification process is determined based onArticle 5 clause (1) and (2) of Law Number 11 of 2008 about Information andElectronic Information confirming that information and or electronic documentcan be considered as a legitimate evidence in verification process particularly incivil case using electronic evidence, the evidence is the expansion of evidence asregulated and enacted in the civil case law corresponding to the provision ofArticle 1866 BW. (2) The verification of crime should ensure that the existingelectronic document came from electronic system meeting the requirement basedon the legislation and after the enactment of ITE Law, there is an addition ofevidence and the recognition of electronic document as a legitimate evidencedetermining that electronic document or its print out is the legitimate evidence thatcan be used before the trial as long as the information contained within it can beaccessed, displayed, and ensured for its completeness and accountable for therebyinforming a condition. In addition, the position of electronic document isequalized to the document prepared on a piece of paper as mentioned in GeneralExplanation of ITE Law.

Abstract

This research aims at investigates how the lecturers of Universitas MuhammadiyahSurakarta perceive their experience teaching in international class whose students arefrom different nationalities. The participants were taken by purposive sampling. The datawere collected by semi-structured in depht repeated interview. Two lecturers wereinterviewed who teaching in international program currently. Phenomenologicalmethodology was employed to form descriptive themes.The study revealed two themesrelating to how lectures of Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta perceive theirexperience teaching in international class. Abstract

The aims of this study are 1) to describe and explain the quality of a textbook of teori puisiwhich was used by students in English Department, Teacher Training and EducationFaculty, in Surakarta; 2) to determine whether the textbook which was arranged by usingcontextual approach is more effective than other textbooks of teori puisi. The researchmethod used the design of Research and Development. The procedure of Research andDevelopment was 1) effectiveness test of a textbook of teori puisi; and 2) dissemination:printing and publishing of a textbook of teori puisi with the number of ISBN. Thepopulation of this research was all students of English Department in the third semester inSurakarta. Technique of collecting data was done through observation, informantinterviews, document analysis, the result of students’ evaluation about teori puisi, andquesionairre for the lecturers. Validity and reliability tests used Correlation of Productmoment. Technique of data analysis used t-test independent. The result of this study showedthat a textbook of teori puisi using contextual approach was effective in teaching learningliterature.Key words: A textbook of Teori Puisi, Research and Development, Contextual Approach

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the strengthening of multicultural education in the era of theMEA, This research is a descriptive qualitative research in the form of library research,data collection method of documentation which examines in depth the phenomena, librarybooks, research journals, and scientific articles related to the variables studied. Dataanalysis techniques used interactive analysis technique consists of three steps: datareduction, data display and data verification. The results showed that efforts to strengthenthe multicultural education in the era of MEA can be done by keeping the essence ofmulticultural education harmonization with the essence of the MEA. That means that themulticultural education in the era of the MEA should be able to build the talents of thelearners in order to have a wide range of knowledge, experience and skills to be able tocompete in the era of the MEA while maintaining a synergism in the diversity of its ethnicdiversity, language, culture, religion and so forth. Multicultural education in the era of theMEA should also be able to provide a wide range of competencies that are multi-complexto the learners so that learners are able to take advantage of the opportunities that exist inthe era of MEA. The conclusion is that the era of multicultural education in the MEAshould be given reinforcement by providing a stock of knowledge, experience, and skillsto learners to continue to promote the harmony of their good diversity in ethnicity,language, culture or religion.Keywords: Multicultural Education and MEA Era
