Abstract

Abstract : The Combination Development Model of Problem Based Learning and Guided Inquiry Lesson In Chemistry Solution In high school Class XI To Improve The Results of Chemistry Learning and Value of Character Students. This study aims to analyzed the difference of chemical enhancement of learning outcomes and character KKPGR and the relationship between character and chemical students outcomes of students who were taught significantly between Direct Instruction model, Problem Based Learning and Guided Inquiry, and Problem Based Learning and Guided Inquiry with computers, This studied was experimental. Sampling technique used purposive sampling , that was SMAN 2, SMAN 7 and SMAN 17 Medan respectively 3 classes. Based on the results of data processing, it was concluded Significantly there were differences in learning outcomes, character values and there is a relationship with the learning outcomes of the character values between students who were taught chemistry by learning model of Direct Instruction compared with the model of Problem Based Learning as compared with the integrated Guided Inquiry model of Problem Based Learning is integrated guided inquiry using computer.Keywords: Problem Based Learning, Guided Inquiry and Direct Instrusction

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether the application of STAD cooperative learning model is effectively used in improving students learning mastery, and how the students chemistry learning mastery on thermo-chemical subject after application of STAD cooperative learning model. This research is a Classroom Action Research.The results of research proved that the application of STAD cooperative learning model effectively used in improving students' chemistry learning mastery on thermo-chemical subject. Average learning outcomes of students in the first cycle of 74.49 with the completeness level of learning results of 82.05% (not completed in a classical), after the learning cycle II of the test results obtained learning average student learning outcome of 80.38 with a mastery level of student learning outcomes of 100% (completed thoroughly in classical). Student learning activities during learning from cycle I to cycle II by applying STAD cooperative learning model has increased. Thus, the results of this study are expected teachers especially chemistry teachers do collaborative work in the PTK as a vehicle for the development of professionalism of teachers in learning and it's time to use innovative learning, such as STAD type cooperative learning model.Key words: student learning mastery, cooperative learning model type STAD, PTK

Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to obtain web-based interactive chemicals teaching materials. Form of research is a descriptive study. This type of research, including research and development. Subject is basic teaching materials buffer solution. The sample used in this study consisted of 20 chemistry teachers in class XI in Medan, 2 chemistry lecturers, general chemistry lecturer and a media lecturer of Universitas Negeri Medan, and 80 students. The selection of the sample in the study using purposive sampling technique. The results of the analysis based on stadart content, competence and indicator obtained, feasibility aspects of the content of 4.42 is very valid, it means very feasible and does not need to be revised, the feasibility of presenting 4.13 is valid, it means feasible and does not need to be revised. Teaching materials that have been developed then tested to students. Testing of students using two classes, experimental and control classes. Towards the experimental class students are given a developed web-based interactive chemistry teaching materials, while the control class using teaching materials that it carries. Based on test results obtained improvement of learning outcomes (gain) experimental grade students (68.25%) is higher than the increase in learning outcomes (gain) control class (61.36%). Keyword: interactive chemistry teaching materials, web, research and development (R&D), buffer solution

Abstract

Abstract. Synthesis of silica gel with sol-gel method has been carried out by utilizing the volcanic ash from Mount Sinabung taken from Berastepu village, Simpang Empat, Karo within 1.5 km from the summit of Mount Sinabung. Volcanic ash is one of the largest source of silica, potentially as materials for silica gel. Synthesis of silica gel in this study conducted by sol-gel method. Volcanic ash didekstruksi with 4M NaOH solution and gel formation with 3M HCl solution. Characterization of silica performed by AAS analysis, FTIR and XRD. Silica levels obtained in this study amounted to 17.85%. Based on the results of using FTIR analysis showed a cluster Si-O-Si and Si-OH stating that the silica adsorbent was successfully created. Characterization using XRD showed that the silica produced has a low degree kekristalan (amorphous form).Keywords: adsorbents, silica, volcanic ash mount Sinabung

Abstract

Environmental pollution caused by waste is pollution that very dangerous for living things. In particular, water pollution, waste that is disposed of through waterways will disrupt the water ecosystem which will have an impact on human life. On the other hand, the development of entrepreneurship such as home industry has a positive impact on society, especially in terms of the economy. Therefore, water pollution indicators are needed that can be used as guidelines in treating wastes such as BOD and COD. In this study, analyzed the levels of BOD and COD from home industry wastewater in the Cawang area. The home industry includes laundry, cracker business, restaurants, printing houses, photocopying, and snack businesses. Based on the results of data analysis, the highest BOD level was 45.827 in samples taken at night. And, the highest COD levels were 95.923 in samples taken at night. These data indicate that the levels of BOD and COD in the water in the home industry waste disposal sites are below the standard threshold for wastewater quality. The levels of BOD and COD are in the safe category for aquatic biota.Keywords: BOD levels, COD levels, Waste, Water pollution

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) terhadap hasil belajar siswa dalam pembelajaran kimia pada pokok bahasan sistem koloid. Penelitian ini telah dilakukan di SMA Methodist 1 Medan. Kelas sampel (kelas XI) diberikan perlakuan dengan model pembelajaran CTL. Kelas sampel telah memenuhi kriteria uji normalitas dan homogenitas. Evaluasi awal(pre-tes) siswa kelas sampel rata-rata M=16.25±6.25. Setelah perlakukan pembelajaran menggunakan model CTL, rata-rata pencapaian siswa (post-tes) meningkat menjadi M=76.39±6.09. Meningkatnya rata-rata post-tes siswa tersebut mengindikasikan bahwa pembelajaran menggunakan model CTL dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Keberhasilan belajar ditandai dengan peningkatan hasil belajar siswa, dimana dalam perhitungan keberhasilan belajar berdasarkan %gain diperoleh rata-rata keberhasilan siswa sebesar 72% Hasil analisis uji beda atau uji t diperoleh thitung > ttabel (6,34> 1,6905) pada α = 0,05 yang berarti pembelajaran menggunakan CTL berpengaruh positif terhadap siswa dalam meningkatkan hasil belajarnya pada pokok bahasan sistem koloid.Kata Kunci: Pembelajaran CTL, sistem koloid, hasil belajar siswa

Abstract

Abstract: The Porpuse of this research are to determine the preparation of chitosan from crab shell (Tachypleus gigas) and gelatine adsorbent  to reduce of Pb. This research consists of several stages: Preparation of chitosan adsorbent and crab shell (Tachypleusgigas) and gelatine and characterization of Pb after adsorbent  applied. Treatment of chitosan solution and gelatin solution with a ratio K25: G75, K50: G50 and K75: G25, then the second treatment 2% chitosan solution add gelatin powder with a variation of 0.1 g, 0.2 g, 0.3 g, 0, 4 g and 0.5 g. the results obtained by reduction of Pb optimum levels found in adsorbent of chitosan and gelatin mixture of 75%: 25% is 83.696% and 2% chitosan adsorbent mixture with the addition of 0.5 g gelatin powder that is equal to 69.316%.Keywords: adsorben, chitosan, gelatin, Pb

Abstract

Abstract. The aim of this research is (1) to analyze and develop of standard chemistry textbooks that proper to use in senior high school (shs) in class of XI at semester one RSBI class; (2) To know the subject matter that proper to be taught year XI shs at semester one RSBI class; (3) To get the standard chemistry textbooks that proper to use in shs year XI at semester one RSBI class; (4) To know what the teachers’ responds for the standard chemistry textbook development of shs year XI at semester one RSBI class; (5) To know the effectiveness of standard chemistry textbook of shs for year XI at semester one RSBI class. The sample was that four chemistry textbook that used in second year class of RSBI class of shs 1 Medan, shs 1 Tebing Tinggi and shs 1 Berastagi, 2 of chemistry lecturers of state university of Medan and 11 of teachers of RSBI class of shs 1 Medan, shs 1 Tebing Tinggi and shs 1 Berastagi as respondents. The sample of students were selected by using purposive sampling, the selected samples in every class were grouped based on their achievement on chemistry in the first semester to make them in to two categories, the relative high achievement (HA) and relative low achievement (LA). Experimental class was taught by using innovated teaching using standard chemistry textbook as a learning media while the control class was taught without using standard chemistry textbook. It was found that student’s achievement was increased when they were tough by using standard chemistry textbook than that of other textbooks . The effectiveness of standard chemistry textbook is obtained 50%. It is concluded that subject matter that are exact to be taught in year XI senior high school at first semester RSBI class are: quantum mechanics atomic theory, molecular shapes, thermochemistry, reaction rate, and chemistry equilibrium. Abstract

Research on the development of comic-based student activity worksheets (LKPD) with a 4C approach (Critical Thinking, Collaboration, Creativity and Communication) on chemical equilibrium material for high school is an innovation in the development of teaching materials in order to achieve the demands of 21st century learning that facilitates and inspire students to be able to think critically, communicatively, creatively, innovatively, and collaboratively. The study was designed using research and development design (R & D) with a 4-D development model. The validation sheet and user response questionnaire are research instruments designed and then analyzed and produce data in the form of assessment and suggestions by the validator team, teacher respondents and students. Feasibility aspects of content, language, presentation, graphics, and characteristics of comics with a 4C approach with an overall percentage score of 93% by the material validator. The results of the percentage of users by teachers are 95% and the percentage of students is 88% with very good criteria. Based on the data analysis, it can be concluded that student activities worksheets based on comics with a 4C approach that produced is valid and can be used on Senior High School on chemical equilibrium material.Keywords:Chemical equilibrium; student activities sheet based comics with 4C approach; 4-D development model

Abstract

Abstract- This research is a development that aims to develop guiding chemistry lab contextually based integrated character values, knowing improving student learning outcomes in terms of cognitive and determine student learning outcomes in terms of affective and psychomotor using guiding chemistry laboratory that has been developed , The study was conducted in Cahaya Medan high school. Samples are two classes were taken by purposive sumpling using PPKBK experimental class I and class II experiment using PP available in school study instrument is a rubric validation, test and observation sheet. Research began on analytical chemistry lab at the school guidance, development, validation, revision and test laboratory guides that have been developed. The product of research is (1) based on the analysis of chemical PP book in colloidal system materials publisher grants, Pudak Scientific, Duta Nusantara and Laskar Aksara is not in accordance with BSNP, (2) based PPKBK BSNP integrated character values is more valid than the PP chemicals used in schools, 93) there is a difference in improving student learning outcomes in terms of cognitive, that learned to use the integrated PPKBK character values of 0.73, while that learned with chemicals used PP 0,63 school, (4) there are differences in student learning outcomes in terms of psychomotor aspect that learned to use PPKBK integrated character values at 91 and that learned with PP chemicals used school at 85, while in terms of affective aspects that learned to use PPKBK integrated character values of 92 and PP with chemicals schools at 81.
