Abstract

This study aims to look at the effect of the flipped classroom approach on the guided inquiry model and student's self-efficacy on creative thinking skills on the reaction rate material. The study was conducted in class XI MIA SMA N 3 Jambi City with a 2 x 2 factorial design and the sample consisted of 2 classes chosen randomly. Data collection using test techniques, namely essay tests, includes indicators of creative thinking and non-tests, namely self-efficacy questionnaire data and field notes during the study. Analysis of the data used is 2-way ANOVA. The results showed that guided inquiry learning with the flipped classroom approach and high self-efficacy categories had high creative thinking abilities, but there is no interaction between learning models with self-efficacy towards creative thinking abilities on the reaction rate material because learning models and self-efficacy affect the results of students' creative thinking abilities independently. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded: (1) There is an influence of the flipped classroom approach on the guided inquiry model of students 'creative thinking abilities on the reaction rate material (2) There is an effect of students' self-efficacy on the ability to think creatively on the material reaction rate (3) There was no interaction between the learning model and students' self-efficacy.Keywords: Creative thinking skills, Flipped classroom, Guided inquiry, Reaction rate, Self-efficacy

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to determine the improvement of students' chemistry learning outcomes by applying M3PK. The population were all students of class X MIA. The sample consisted of two classes, namely class X MIA 2 and X MIA 3 which were taken by random sampling. The first class is used as an experimental class which is taught using the Teaching Model to Induce Change of Concepts, and the second class as a control class which was learnt by using the Direct Instruction. As a prerequisite for testing the hypothesis, the study data of the two sample groups were tested for normality and homogeneity and the data achieved from both sample groups were normal and homogeneous. In testing, the hypothesis obtained the price of tcount> ttable (4.619> 1.670). It shows that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected, which means that the increase in learning outcomes of chemistry students who are learnt by using M3PK is higher than the learning outcomes of chemistry students who are educated using the Direct Instruction. The percentage increased in students' learning outcomes of chemistry learnt by using M3PK was 74.5% while those taught using the Model Direct Instructionwere 64.8%.Keywords:equation reactions; m3pk; learning outcomes

Abstract

The research objectives were to identify the secondary metabolite components, total phenolic content and determine the antioxidant activity of the ethanol extract of red betel leaf (Piper crocatum Ruiz & Pav.). The extraction process was carried out by materation using ethanol as a solvent. Determination of total phenolic content was carried out colorimetrically with Folin-Ciocalteu reagent measured at a maximum wavelength of 765 nm. Determination of antioxidant activity using the DPPH method measured by spectrophotometry at a maximum wavelength of 517 nm. The results of phytochemical screening of the ethanolic extract of red betel leaf contain secondary metabolites, including flavonoid, phenolic, tannin, alkaloids, steroids, and triterpenoids. The total phenolic content of the red betel leaf ethanol extract was 0.949±0.003 mg GAE/g d.w. and has antioxidant activity (IC50) 84,656 including strong category as an antioxidant. This studied was experimental. The population was all students high school of XI class in Pematangsiantar town as 2013/2014 Academic Year. Sampling technique used cluster random sampling, that was SMAN 2, SMAN 3 and SMAN 4 Pematangsiantar respectively 3 classes. The research instrument was studying chemistry test results and observations increased in the value of the character of students. The data analysis technique used the analysis of variance (ANOVA) 1 way (One way ANOVA) with SPSS 20 for windows at significance level α = 0.05. Based on the results of data processing, it was concluded (1) Significantly there were differences in learning outcomes between students who were taught chemistry learning model of Direct Instruction (DI) compared with the model of Problem Based Learning (PBL) as compared with the integrated guided inquiry model of Problem Based Learning (PBL) is integrated guided inquiry using computer. (2) Significantly there were differences of character values of discipline, critical thinking, independent, responsible and honest that was developed between the students who were taught by the learning model of Direct Instruction (DI) compared with the model of Problem Based Learning (PBL) integrated guided inquiry model than the Problem based Learning (PBL) integrated guided inquiry using the computer. (3) Significantly there is a relationship with the learning outcomes of the character values of discipline, critical thinking, independence, accountability and integrity are spreading among the students who are taught by the model of Problem Based Learning (PBL) and the integrated guided inquiry model of Problem Based Learning PBL integrated guided inquiry using a computer. Abstract

Abstract:       The dependence on fossil fuels is a big problem and needs an urgent solution. One of the steps taken is the utilization of bioethanol "lignocellulose". This research uses natural material with high lignocellulose content that is durian peel waste and aims to make durian peel waste as raw material of bioethanol production with variation of H2SO4 concentration, temperature, and acid hydrolysis time. The variable used is H2SO4 concentration of 1%, 3%, and 5%; temperature of 100˚C, 120˚C, and 140˚C; and time of 120 minutes, 150 minutes, and 180 minutes. From the analysis, the highest bioethanol purity was obtained at 99.81% at 100˚C and hydrolysis time at 120 minutes. Keywords:acid hydrolysis; bioethanol; durian peel waste; optimization
