AQLAM: Journal of Islam and Plurality (P-ISSN 2528-0333; E-ISSN: 2528-0341) is a journal published by the Ushuluddin, Adab and Dakwah Faculty, State Islamic Institute of Manado, Indonesia. AQLAM published twice a year and focused on the Islamic studies especially the basic sciences of Islam, including the study of the Qur’an, Hadith, Islamic Philosophy, Islamic History and Culture, Theology, Mysticism, and Local Wisdom in Indonesia. It is intended to communicate original research and current issues on the subject. This journal warmly welcomes contributions from scholars of related disciplines. Abstract

Abstract: Building religious behavior in society that fosters social sensitivity, sensitivity towards others, and national awareness still requires the participation of many parties, including contributions in thought, ideas, political policies, and societal momentum. As a nation with a society rich in social, religious, cultural, and political diversity, developing a narrative and discourse on religious moderation is absolutely necessary. This study critiques the ideas and movements of religious moderation in Indonesia, both in academic and political contexts, as well as what is being done by society and in the realm of digital platforms. With data and the process of diversifying patterns of discourse and movements, as well as the critical analysis conducted by the researcher, the discourse and movement of religious moderation still prioritize pragmatic interests rather than building a fundamental narrative. It is as if this movement must be accepted and practiced in daily life without realizing that such a narrative should be part of ethical religious descriptions. This means that if ethical and epistemological awareness is constructed in such a way within society, then moderate religious discourse will naturally emerge from self-awareness, without the need for it to be campaigned by the state or certain groups with significant costs. Keywords: Religion, Moderation, Episteme, Sociology, and Indonesia   Abstrak: Membangun perilaku beragama di masyarakat yang menumbuhkan kepekaan sosial, kepekaan terhadap sesama, dan kesadaran berbangsa tetap memerlukan peran serta banyak pihak, termasuk sumbangan pemikiran, gagasan, kebijakan politik, dan momentum kemasyarakatan. Sebagai bangsa yang masyarakatnya kaya akan keberagaman sosial, agama, budaya, dan politik, membangun narasi dan wacana moderasi beragama mutlak diperlukan. Kajian ini mengkritisi gagasan dan gerakan moderasi beragama di Indonesia, baik dalam konteks akademis maupun politik, serta apa yang tengah dilakukan oleh masyarakat dan di ranah platform digital. Dengan data dan proses diversifikasi pola wacana dan gerakan, serta analisis kritis yang dilakukan peneliti, wacana dan gerakan moderasi beragama masih lebih mengutamakan kepentingan pragmatis ketimbang membangun narasi yang fundamental. Gerakan ini seolah-olah harus diterima dan dipraktikkan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari tanpa menyadari bahwa narasi semacam itu seharusnya menjadi bagian dari deskripsi keagamaan yang etis. Artinya, apabila kesadaran etika dan epistemologi sudah terkonstruksi sedemikian rupa dalam masyarakat, maka wacana keagamaan yang moderat akan lahir dengan sendirinya dari kesadaran itu sendiri, tanpa perlu dikampanyekan oleh negara atau kelompok tertentu dengan biaya yang tidak sedikit.Kata Kunci: Agama, Moderasi, Episteme, Sosiologi, dan Indonesia

Abstract

Abstract: The rapid development of digital technology has transformed communication and information access, including Islamic propagation (da'wah). This study explores Universitas Islam Bandung (Unisba) students' preferences for digital da'wah content, particularly podcasts, using Berger and Luckmann's Social Construction of Reality theory and the bilisani qaumihi principle. Through qualitative methods, including in-depth interviews and observations targeting students aged 18-24, findings reveal preferences short, engaging, and visually appealing content for entertainment and long-form, educational content for deeper understanding. Platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube Shorts cater to short-form needs, while YouTube podcasts provide extensive and systematic discussions. Students favor relatable themes such as self-development, mental health, and daily Islamic practices, delivered in a relaxed, humorous, and relatable tone. The study concludes that digital da'wah must integrate entertainment with education to adapt to Generation Z's preferences, ensuring message relevance and effective Islamic value internalization in daily life.Key Words: Digital Da'wah, Student Preferences, Podcast, Social Media, Social ConstructionAbstrak: Perkembangan teknologi digital mengubah cara komunikasi dan akses informasi, termasuk dakwah Islam. Penelitian ini mengkaji preferensi mahasiswa Universitas Islam Bandung (Unisba) terhadap konten dakwah digital, khususnya podcast, dengan menggunakan teori Konstruksi Sosial atas Realitas dari Berger dan Luckmann serta prinsip bilisani qaumihi. Melalui metode kualitatif, termasuk wawancara mendalam dan observasi dengan target mahasiswa berusia 18-24 tahun, hasil penelitian menunjukkan preferensi konten singkat, menarik, dan visual untuk hiburan, serta konten panjang dan edukatif untuk pemahaman mendalam. Platform seperti TikTok, Instagram, dan YouTube Shorts memenuhi kebutuhan konten singkat, sementara podcast di YouTube memenuhi kebutuhan diskusi mendalam dan sistematis. Mahasiswa menyukai tema relevan seperti pengembangan diri, kesehatan mental, dan praktik Islami sehari-hari, dengan gaya penyampaian santai, humoris, dan relatable. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa dakwah digital harus mengintegrasikan hiburan dan pendidikan untuk beradaptasi dengan preferensi generasi Z, memastikan relevansi pesan, dan memungkinkan internalisasi nilai Islam dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.Kata Kunci: Dakwah Digital, Preferensi Mahasiswa, Podcast, Media Sosial, Konstruksi Sosial

Abstract

In the disruption information era, the role of public relations as an information manager is increasingly important. Public relations must work hard and be adaptive in providing information and communication to the public via digital media. Digital media platforms greatly contribute to the information management of an organization. The aim of this research is to obtain an overview of optimizing the role of public relations as information manager through digital media at PTKIN. This research is qualitative descriptive research, namely research that describes social phenomena with narrative and comprehensive explanations. The object of the research is IAIN Parepare public relations with the subjects or informants being all IAIN Parepare public relations organizers who were selected based on the purposive sampling method, namely a method of determining informants with certain considerations. The results of this research illustrated that IAIN Parepare's public relations uses digital media platforms as information and communication centers, namely websites and social media (Facebook, Instagram and YouTube). Through digital media, IAIN Parepare public relations plays a role in providing, namely 1) information services, 2) communication and consultation services, 3) image building programs, 4) promotions. To optimize its role, IAIN Parepare public relations carry out, namely 1) a planning and management approach, 2) providing quality information and 3) program-based digital information services.Keywords: Public Relations, Digital Media, Social Media.

Abstract

Keberhasilan Islam pada masa Nabi Muhammad Saw. dalam memperluas wilayah kekuasaannya bukan semata karena kekuatan militernya, atau karena keberhasilan mengubah wilayah gersang menjadi layak huni dan produktif, sebagaimana pandangan para peneliti. Keberhasilan Islam disebabkan kesuksesan visi dagang Nabi Muhammad Saw. dalam mempertahankan kepentingannya di level perdagangan global, dimana kekuatan militer hanya faktor pendukung semata. Penelitian kualitatif ini menggunakan metode sejarah, dengan pendekatan politik. Teori yang digunakan adalah teori konflik sosial dari Karl Marx dan Max Weber. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan; pertama, Nabi Muhammad Saw. memiliki visi dagang yang kuat, sehingga mampu mempengaruhi masyarakat di sekitarnya. Kedua, Nabi Muhammad Saw. berhasil memobilisir masyarakat pedagang Arab, dan mengubahnya menjadi pedagang muslim sebagai entitas sosial baru. Ketiga, Nabi Muhammad Saw. menggunakan otoritasnya sebagai pemimpin Negara Madinah untuk mengirim ekspedisi militer yang bertujuan mengamankan usaha perdagangan pengusaha Madinah dari segala ancaman kekuatan asing, terutama dari Kekaisaran Bizantium.Kata Kunci: Politik, Dagang, Nabi Muhammad.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the implementation of Sufi values in hypnotherapy practices carried out by the Hypnosis Community of Cirebon (KHC). Using a qualitative research method with a case study approach, this research investigates how Sufi principles such as tawakal, sabar, syukur, and husnuzan are integrated into various stages of hypnotherapy, from pre-induction to post-hypnotic suggestion. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, involving KHC therapists and clients. The results reveal that the incorporation of Sufi values enhances the therapeutic process, creating a holistic healing experience that aligns with the spiritual beliefs of clients. This integration also provides a new perspective on alternative therapy practices that bridge psychological and spiritual dimensions. The study concludes that the application of Sufisme values in hypnotherapy not only supports mental health treatment but also enriches the interdisciplinary discourse between Tasawuf and psychotherapy.
