Abstract

This study investigates the impact of profitability and liquidity on bank viability, considering capital adequacy as a moderating factor in Islamic commercial banks in Indonesia. The research sample consists of 9 Islamic commercial banks from 2018 to 2022. The dependent variable, bank survival, is assessed using Return on Assets (ROA). The independent variable, profitability, is measured by Return on Equity (ROE), with Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) as the moderating variable. Control variables include Net Profit Margin (NPM), Operational Efficiency (BOPO), and Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR). Analysis is conducted using multiple linear regression with a Fixed Effects model. The findings indicate that capital adequacy functions as a pure moderator, enhancing the relationship between NPM and ROA while weakening the relationship between ROE and ROA.

Abstract

Abstract: Building religious behavior in society that fosters social sensitivity, sensitivity towards others, and national awareness still requires the participation of many parties, including contributions in thought, ideas, political policies, and societal momentum. As a nation with a society rich in social, religious, cultural, and political diversity, developing a narrative and discourse on religious moderation is absolutely necessary. This study critiques the ideas and movements of religious moderation in Indonesia, both in academic and political contexts, as well as what is being done by society and in the realm of digital platforms. With data and the process of diversifying patterns of discourse and movements, as well as the critical analysis conducted by the researcher, the discourse and movement of religious moderation still prioritize pragmatic interests rather than building a fundamental narrative. It is as if this movement must be accepted and practiced in daily life without realizing that such a narrative should be part of ethical religious descriptions. This means that if ethical and epistemological awareness is constructed in such a way within society, then moderate religious discourse will naturally emerge from self-awareness, without the need for it to be campaigned by the state or certain groups with significant costs.

Abstract

Community engagement serves as a vital bridge between the academic sphere and social reality. The community is the ideal partner in applying, developing, testing, and evaluating theoretical-conceptual ideas. However, community engagement within State Islamic Higher Education Institutions (Perguruan Tinggi Keagamaan Islam Negeri, PTKIN) appears to be limited to a service-oriented paradigm, predominantly focused on religious services. This study examines these patterns through a qualitative-descriptive approach involving documentary analysis from Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Sunan Kalijaga, UIN Alauddin Makassar, UIN Batusangkar, and the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs. Employing textual interpretation, comparative analysis, and critical reflection, the research identifies an outdated paradigm in PTKIN's community engagement, one that fails to adapt to shifting societal realities. The evolving nature of society necessitates a corresponding shift in the conceptual and practical framework of community engagement. A paradigmatic transformation is essential if community engagement at PTKIN is to remain relevant and contributive both to the university and the broader society.
