Abstract

This research was motivated by findings that the learning process of elementary school teachers did not align with the characteristics of effective learning. Observations revealed that teachers still relied on lesson plans downloaded from the internet, and their learning processes and assessments were not fully in accordance with curriculum demands, indicating the need for improvement. The purpose of this study was to determine the improvement of teachers’ skills in carrying out the learning process using a problem-centered learning model through academic supervision activities. This research was a school action research adapted from McTaggart and Kemmis's classroom action research design, consisting of stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The study was conducted at SDN 28 Rawang Timur, Padang, involving 10 teachers. The results showed that teachers achieved an average skill score of 88.86 in cycle I and 83.59 in cycle II, indicating an improvement in teachers’ learning process skills through academic supervision. This study suggested that scheduling supervision in agreement with teachers is necessary to optimize its implementation. The implication of this research is that it can serve as a basis for supervisors to enhance the learning process skills of elementary school teachers.

Abstract

Organizing online learning for each educational unit and determining how to deliver learning to students can be done using social media. Choosing social media for learning is necessary because it transcends space and time, making communication with distant people easier. Therefore, it was important to train teachers in using WhatsApp as an alternative for learning through action research or school action research methods. This study involved 8 teachers at SDN 18 Bengkalis. The results showed that in Cycle I, teachers’ understanding of online learning reached an average of 51.13 in the sufficient category. After improvements and reflection from the first cycle, Cycle II showed an average of 73.13 in the good category. Teachers’ ability in learning during Cycle I was categorized as sufficient, while in Cycle II, 2 teachers reached the very good category and 6 teachers reached the good category. Abstract

Research on the quality of Student Worksheets (LKPD) using the fishbone diagram strategy aimed to determine the quality of the product in the form of Student Worksheets, which were used as teaching material media to help students develop writing skills. This approach was intended so that students would not experience difficulties when learning descriptive text writing. The LKPD used the fishbone diagram strategy, which resembled a fishbone, to support speaking and writing skills. This research was conducted using a research and development (R&D) method. The data analysis technique applied was quantitative description. The results showed that Student Worksheets for writing descriptive text using the fishbone diagram strategy were feasible to be used as companion teaching materials. Validation results from material experts indicated percentages of 97.6% and 91.7%, while validation from linguists achieved percentages of 88% and 86%. Feasibility tests conducted by field experts (teachers) obtained percentages of 93.68% and 94.73%, and trials with grade VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Kota Dumai reached 84.62%. Keywords: ,
