Abstract

Tulisan ini membahas maskulinitas dalam novel Keluarga Permana karya Ramadhan K.H. Penganalisisan lebih dahulu diawali dengan asumsi bahwa novel Keluarga Permana mengandung maskulinitas yang diwakili oleh tokoh Permana. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah maskulinitas dari Connell dan Figes. Teori ini menjelaskan bagaimana maskulinitas terbentuk dari maskulinitas dan femininitas lainnya dalam konteks sosial yang melingkupinya. Teori ini juga mengungkapkan bahwa tidak hanya perempuan yang ter-opresi dalam konteks patriarkat, tetapi laki-laki juga disadari atau tidak terbebani oleh konteks sosial tersebut. Dalam hal ini, maskulinitas Permana terbentuk dari maskulinitas dan femininitas tokoh-tokoh lainnya dalam konteks sosial patriarkat. Hasil penelitian atas novel ini membuktikan bahwa maskulinitas Permana terbelenggu oleh konteks sosial patriarkat sehingga mengalami perubahan.Abstract:This paper attempts to describe   masculinity in the Ramadhan K.H’s ’s work  entitling Keluarga Permana.  The Analysis is  begun with the assumption that the Keluarga  Permana con- tains masculinity represented by the character of Permana. The theory used in this study is the masculinity theory  given by Connell and Figes. The theory explains how the masculinity  are formed from other masculinity and femininity in the surrounding social context. This theory also reveal that not only are women in the context of patriarchal oppression, but also men are burdened by the social context. In this case, Permana’s  masculinity  are  formed  from other characters of masculinity and femininity  in the patriarchal social context. The results of the research  prove that Permana’s masculinity  was bounded  by patriarchal social context in order to get a  change.

Abstract

Penelitian ini ditujukan untuk mendeskripsikan bagaimana perspektif feminis Afrika ditampilkan dalam karya autobiografis Ken Bugul yang berjudul Riwan ou Le Chemin du Sable (1999). Dalam karya itu, perspektif feminis  ditampilkan melalui kacamata narator sebagai perempuan Senegal ketika dihadapkan pada persoalan poligami. Analisis menggunakan teori feminisme yang kontekstual dengan isu yang dihadapi perempuan di Senegal, terutama yang dipaparkan oleh Hashim dan D’Almeida serta pendekatan naratologi autobiografis. Saya berargumentasi bahwa perspektif feminisme dalam karya Bugul itu adalah konsep famillisme yang merujuk pada penyuaraan rasa solidaritas antarperempuan Senegal dan keterlibatan aktif laki-laki demi terciptanya keberlangsungan dan kesejahteraan sebuah keluarga.Abstract:The present research aims at  describing  how African feminist perspectives features  in Ken Bugul’s  autobiographical work entitling  Riwan ou Le Chemin du Sable (1999). In the paper, the feminist perspective is shown through the eyes of the narrator as Senegalese women when faced with the question of polygamy. The analysis uses the theory of feminism that contextual issues faced by women in Senegal, mainly presented by Hashim and D’Almeida and by applying the approach of autobiographical approach narrathology.  I argue that the feminism perspective in the Bugul’s works  is a familliasm concept that refers to the voicing solidarity among Senegal’s women  and the active involvement of men in order to create sustainability and a well-being  family.

Abstract

Mantra Panah Arjuna adalah salah satu mantra Banjar berupa mantra cinta untuk menundukkan hati seseorang yang dicintai.  Lazimnya mantra ini dipergunakan oleh laki-laki untuk menaklukkan perempuan pujaan hatinya.  Namun, tradisi bermantra mulai ditinggalkan oleh masyarakat penggunanya. Mantra lebih dianggap sebuah takhayul. Oleh karena itu, perlu langkah konkret untuk mengenalkan kembali keberadaan mantra Banjar kepada generasi muda di Kalimantan Selatan ini. Tulisan ini secara ringkas mendeskripsikan keunikan bahasa mantra Panah Arjuna dilihat dari aspek-aspek kelisanan dengan memanfaatkan teori struktukralisme. Aspek-aspek kelisanan mantra dalam bentuk bahasa meliputi:  sruktur mantra,  formula repetisi,  formula pararelisme, formula sintaksis, dan ekspresi formulaik. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik catat, wawancara, dan studi pustaka. Hasil analisis memberikan gambaran singkat mengenai sruktur mantra, formula repetisi, formula pararelisme, formula sintaksis dan ekspresi formulaik pada mantra Panah Arjuna.  Selain itu, formula-formula tersebut dapat dipergunakan sebagai alat bantu untuk mengingat dengan mudah dan cepat mantra dalam rangka melestarikan mantra Banjar.Abstract:The Panah Arjuna spell is one of the Banjarese love spell to win one?s heart. It is com- monly used by men to subjugate women?s heart. However, the tradition of using spell begins to be abandoned by society. Spell is more considered a superstition. Therefore, it is required to do the concrete steps to introduce Banjar spell to young people in South Kalimantan. This paper briefly describes the uniqueness of the  expressions of the  Panah Arjuna spell viewed from the aspects of orality using structuralism theory. Orality aspects in the spell expressions include spell structure, repetition formula, parallelism formula, syntax and expression formula. The method used is de- scriptive qualitative by applying note taking technique, interviews, and literature review. The re- sults of the analysis provide a brief overview of spell structures, repetition formula, parallelism formula, syntax formula, and expression formula of  the panah Arjuna spell . In addition, these formulas can be used as a tool to remember them easily and quickly in order to preserve the Banjarese spell.
